People were smiling at each other on the tube today. Loads of police around and people making a point of going up to say hello and thank you to them.

expatinscotland · 23/03/2017 18:51

Exactly, Portia.

HeeHighls · 23/03/2017 19:04

"Very heartening to see that 221k has been raised for Keith palmers family, such a shame it's needed though."

Eh? Who say's it's needed?

Between the pay out and his pension, his family will have a conservative million pounds, maybe twice that and someone I see here will send a few quid when she gets paid.

Will you have 2 million pounds? Please stop it and put the money into your own family.

The Police Federation are the most powerful Union in the UK. His widow will want for nothing.

"I have donated. I will try and donate again when I have some more money available. "

Please stop.

Have you 2m in the bank?

I hope his widow won't accept one penny donated. Let's wait and see.

expatinscotland · 23/03/2017 19:07

She has a murdered husband and two children who have a murdered father, too, Heels. Hmm

IgglePigglesDildo · 23/03/2017 19:09

Why not donate the money to a worthy cause like women's aid or something?

PigletWasPoohsFriend · 23/03/2017 19:10

HeeHighls How about having a bit of compassion.

Butterymuffin · 23/03/2017 19:11

So the price on a person's life has a ceiling of a million pounds, does it?

PigletWasPoohsFriend · 23/03/2017 19:11

Why not donate the money to a worthy cause like women's aid or something?

Firstly whose to say people don't.

Secondly I hope you saying people murdered by a terrorist aren't 'worthy causes'

Saucery · 23/03/2017 19:13

Just when you think you've seen it all......

Natsku · 23/03/2017 19:25

People can donate to wherever they want for fucks sake.

Don't feed it, Play.

Soubriquet · 23/03/2017 19:26

Wtf am I reading right now?

ChardonnayKnickertonSmythe · 23/03/2017 19:27

....be visited too by their consulate.

That's not exactly an incentive to get mown down by a terrorist in a foreign country, TBH. Hmm

WTF am I reading on here tonight?

ShamefulDodger · 23/03/2017 19:29

I've donated and I hope the widow uses it for something completely frivolous or to take the dc to Disneyland for two months...or whatever the hell she wants to spend it on.

I'm on benefits (disability) and have hardly anything left over but I still donated. It's not really about how much she already has/ will get is it?

It's offering a helping hand of what you can to grieving families.

PlayOnWurtz · 23/03/2017 19:29

I have no intention of doing so expat

Doyouwantabrew · 23/03/2017 19:31

God some people have no respect or decency!

expatinscotland · 23/03/2017 19:31

Anyone found a link for funds for Ms Fade's family?

expatinscotland · 23/03/2017 19:33

They're GFs, Do, hopefully to soon be deleted.

ShamefulDodger · 23/03/2017 19:34

Not yet expatinscotland I am still looking. Sad

expatinscotland · 23/03/2017 19:35

Mr Cochran's family will face many great expenses, this much I know. Mrs Cochran's medical insurance may not pay out for whatever care she needs once she repatriates, or she may be uninsured in their country, a sad fact of life for millions in the US.

Pebbles16 · 23/03/2017 19:36

There are some really horrible people here. People want to help. It doesn't matter whether there will be a "good" payout or not. Nothing will replace a husband or father. And no donation is too small. Bloody hell people. This is a horrible thing and people want to help. Stop making it about your opinions.

Doyouwantabrew · 23/03/2017 19:36

Yes of course they must be expat but honestly who are these people how do they sleep at night. Bloody hell
