Why does the name matter he's still a murdering bastard whatever he's called

wizzywig · 23/03/2017 15:44

True portia, 100% true

originalbiglymavis · 23/03/2017 15:57

He won't be using the name his parents gave him anyway. Just the one his brainwashers gave him. What does it matter?

PausingFlatly · 23/03/2017 16:06

JustGiving page for PC Keith Palmer's family: www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/Keith-palmer

JustGiving page for COPS (Care of Police Survivors) charity, which provides practical and emotional support for families of UK police officers who've lost their lives on duty: www.ukcops.org/donate.php

I'm glad that the family of PC Keith Palmer will be getting support but I hope that the other victims' families aren't forgotten.

Puzzledandpissedoff · 23/03/2017 16:31

Surely the police releasing Kahlid Masood's name matters in that it might bring out useful information from anyone who knows him?

Soubriquet · 23/03/2017 16:34

Least it will stop the fb sharing of "it was Abu Izzedean (whatever his name is). Share this before fb take it down"

HalfShellHero · 23/03/2017 16:40

The strong resilient attitude is great I'm sure but I'm feeling a bit ..I can't articulate,...uncomfortable? If my relative /friend was killed or injured yesterday I would find the let's just carry on attitude disheartening especially when news one of the victims is already overshadowing the rest...I may be alone on this feeling..

Fatemaalawi · 23/03/2017 16:41

Really sad to hear this happened. I honestly don't feel as safe as I used to living in London.

Westwiltshire · 23/03/2017 16:53

Pausing thank you for that link - I've donated.

UnmentionedElephantDildo · 23/03/2017 17:09

"Hwe won't be using the name his parents gave him anyway. Just the one his brainwashers gave him. What does it matter?"

The police statement said he had a number of aliases; and was known to police and has a range of previous convictions for assaults, including GBH, possession of offensive weapons and public order offences.

So my guess is they've used the main name he used as an adult.

originalbiglymavis · 23/03/2017 17:44

So was he the first man named then?

PigletWasPoohsFriend · 23/03/2017 17:46

So was he the first man named then?

No

FlappinSwazy · 23/03/2017 17:59

Please could someone tell me if there is a fundraiser for the other families affected by the incident?

I have donated already to the PC Keith Palmer and the Air Ambulance (just increased our regular donation).

I have one fiver left (sadly broke) but would like to give it to the other families.

beanzie99 · 23/03/2017 18:08

www.gofundme.com/melissaandkurt

This is the fundraiser for the poor American couple.

HeeHighls · 23/03/2017 18:12

"Why does the name matter he's still a murdering bastard whatever he's called"

A big difference to Mi5 who are striving to keep us safe.
Just how naïve can you be?

PausingFlatly · 23/03/2017 18:15

I haven't found a fundraiser for Aysha Frade, but she taught at DLD College, so they might be doing something.

"Really sad to hear this happened. I honestly don't feel as safe as I used to living in London."

It's been twelve years since the last one. For God's sake get a grip!

You've far more chance of an airliner falling from the sky. Just get on and live your life as you did yesterday.

Nothing has changed.

FlappinSwazy · 23/03/2017 18:30

Thank you for the links - I also found this one, which is where I have donated. I will try and donate again when I have some more money available.

Very heartening to see that 221k has been raised for Keith palmers family, such a shame it's needed though.

HeeHighls · 23/03/2017 18:40

Why do some feel that you have to throw money at people?
Does it make YOU feel better?

Visitors from abroad will not only be covered by their travel insurance but by our NHS for all their medical needs and be visited too by their consulate.

The only reason I can tell for you donating is to make yourselves feel good.
Free NHS+ travel insurance+Embassy assistance+ relatives+ their own bank account.

Up to you of course.

Is there really any need for that?

I live in london and have for 15 years. I don't feel safe either and I think that's totally fine. I wouldn't let it stop me doing what I do but it does make me more aware and observant. I grew up with this level of threat my whole life due to my Dad's and then my own job, I suppose I should be blasé about it but I am not, it's hard to be when you've been close to many such incidents. It's great if you don't feel scared and a bit shaky, good for you, but it's rather shit to jump so aggressively on people who do.

FlappinSwazy · 23/03/2017 18:44

HeeHigh Donating 15 pounds is hardly "throwing money". I support the Air Ambulance every month because it's previously been involved of life saving care for me.

I have supported the policeman because losing a parent and a salary is shit.

I've supported the other families for the same reason. Travel insurance doesn't cover everything - for instance the flights of relatives needing to come to the UK to visit their injured relatives.

expatinscotland · 23/03/2017 18:45

'Visitors from abroad will not only be covered by their travel insurance but by our NHS for all their medical needs and be visited too by their consulate.'

What's it to you what people do with their own money? Hmm

They have to pay out first and then claim it back from the travel insurance. Such people may also need to be repatriated whilst still injured and require special care on a flight and again, will need to pay upfront for costs and then claim it back. This can amount to many thousands of pounds. A friend had to repatriate her husband to the UK from mainland Europe after he died suddenly. The process cost £8000.

Some may be from nations where they have to pay for their medical care and treatment and they may require monies to do this.

What's it to you if others want to help them? It's not a given their travel insurance will pay for it or their consulate.

How shameful, to begrudge seriously injured people or the families of murder victims any monies people might care to donate them? How hateful, bitter and miserable are you?

PortiaCastis · 23/03/2017 18:47

I've donated to the murdered policeman's family because I wanted to try and help in a small way and anybody who disrespects that is not worth bothering about.
