Son is talking about a previous life?!

I don't really think that as I don't think I believe in any of that, but my son who is 3 keeps saying he wants to go home and his dad really misses him, he wants to go back to his blue house. He says he wants to go home about 10 times a day and randomly says my dad misses me. DH to him is daddy, and I have asked him when DH is on face time (he works away during the week) is this your dad, and he says no mummy, that's daddy, that's not dad! So he doesn't mean DH. Has anyone ever experienced this?!

My son used to talk about his 'other' mother for a good few months when he was about 5 or 6. He said he lived in South Africa with his other mummy in a hut and went into a fair bit of detail - e.g. he said he ate lots of vegetables and not much meat and that he didn't go to school but played in the fields all day. Whenever he was in trouble for being naughty he would tell me he was going to go back to live with his other family in SA. It was quite scary for me at the time I remember, however he gradually stopped talking about it.

When he was 14 or so something reminded me of those days so I asked him about it. Little sod told me he remembered it well and that he'd made the whole thing up.
