To wonder why England wants to keep Scotland?

Or am I being really thick? NS has been causing no end of grief the past few years always complaining about how bad Scotland has it (despite receiving more money for Scotland than Scotland gives back) also promising English votes for English laws and then changing that when something she didn't like can up. Her financial plan depends on the North Sea oil. If Scotland keeps rights to that it'll last fifty years tops before oil runs out. She just seems to be a constant pain and wants special treatment which wales and NI don't ever seem to get. I do love Scotland but right now I'm inclined to cheerily wave them off and wish the good luck.

Maybe for England but not for Scotland

Still wrong.

Thegruffalowswife · 19/03/2017 13:21

Not just nats said it about thatcher, but lots of english people too (conveniently forgotten).

It can not come soon enough for me.

Yes it is an argument for scotland to stay in. A yes vote is just taking a tricky situation and turning it in to a disaster.

Headofthehive55 · 19/03/2017 13:23

its an inconvienent truth that people will not easily forgive. It causes division. Of course you don't know what the attitude will be. However when people try and say how they feel, it's immediately blanked. Not listened to. That's not a wise thing to do.
It's in some ways like "othering".

Headofthehive55 · 19/03/2017 13:26

I can't imagine how it must have been to live through it all gruff. What country does that to it's own people, not once, but twice.
I feel sorry for you.

Nyx · 19/03/2017 13:27

Nobody has been blanked or ignored. Gruff feels vitriolic and full of hated and thinks as much of teasers as she does of isis, or something. Forgive me if I'm not sure what to say to that.

Nyx · 19/03/2017 13:28

*yessers not teasers - phone

Thegruffalowswife · 19/03/2017 13:29

Teasers.. hahaha

Nyx · 19/03/2017 13:30

Poor Gruffalo is having to go through a democratic referendum which she is sure No will win because yes have no arguments. I can see why you sympathise.

LassWiTheDelicateAir · 19/03/2017 13:32

Well Nyx if you get your way it's something you will have to deal with.

You lost last time. All that happened was we kept the status quo , life went on and yes immediately started campaigning.

If you win the next time it will be a very different case. I certainly won't be congratulating you.

Nyx · 19/03/2017 13:35

If yes win next time I won't lose sleep because of not receiving congrats from you Smile

Thegruffalowswife · 19/03/2017 13:37

You son't need to know what to say to it. It is what I think. It is what many people think of the blind destruction and sabotage of their country by the snp. It is destruction and is actually putting the whole uk at risk.

Nyx · 19/03/2017 13:38

The UK is not 'a country'.

Thegruffalowswife · 19/03/2017 13:39

The UK is not 'a country'.

Utter, utter shite

Nyx · 19/03/2017 13:40

Scottish people have a right to be given the choice on independence because of Brexit.

ny20005 · 19/03/2017 13:40

Wow gruff ! I don't have any issues with no voters & don't agree with any personal attacks on politicians (for any political party)

The amount of death threats & attacks on Nicola sturgeon are astounding !

I don't agree with Teresa Mays politics but her as a person or her appearance are irrelevant

Why people think they can get away with spouting such bile on social media astounds me. I hope you take a good long look at your self & think how you'd feel if someone said those disgusting things about you or your family

Nyx · 19/03/2017 13:40

If the majority vote no, so be it.

LassWiTheDelicateAir · 19/03/2017 13:44

The UK is not 'a country

Just keep on saying that. I don't know nor care what you define "country" to be. As far as I am concerned my country is the UK and my nationality is British.

If yes win next time I won't lose sleep because of not receiving congrats from you

You might however want to consider how you will deal with No voters.

TinfoilHattie · 19/03/2017 13:46

The UK is not 'a country'.

country
ˈkʌntri/Submit
noun
1.
a nation with its own government, occupying a particular territory.
"the country's increasingly precarious economic position"

hope that helps for the hard of understanding. Scotland is a country which is part of a bigger country, which is the UK. But of course the yessers don't let anything as silly as hard facts stand in their way.

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 19/03/2017 13:47

I actually do think the UK is a country, but a pretty unique one as is is made up from a union of other countries.

Lass you would still be British in an indy Scotland - we will still be part of the the landmass of Britain!

Thegruffalowswife · 19/03/2017 13:49

They do. I have nationalists in my family and english people.

It is not only that I disagree with her politics. She theatens the security of my countr and is a great champion of xenophobes, pitting her countrymen against each other. She should be treated as a terrorist and a traitor.

I am very unsurprised at the threats (although I will not attempt to condone them)

Nyx · 19/03/2017 13:49

When No won in 2014 Scotland was immediately subjected to EVEL, promises made about jobs and the EU and powers were broken. If yes win this time it will be much better for Scotland than if no win again. In my opinion.

PigletWasPoohsFriend · 19/03/2017 13:49

I am only seeing spite and nastiness from Unionists on these threads

Really? Then I think you have blinkers on unless you think calling the whole of England racist, for example is ok

LassWiTheDelicateAir · 19/03/2017 13:50

Lass you would still be British in an indy Scotland - we will still be part of the the landmass of Britain!

You know that is not what I meant. My nationality would be changed to Scottish. I would have to have a Scottish passport.

PigletWasPoohsFriend · 19/03/2017 13:51

I find Gruffalo's posts threatening

I find some othersort posts particularly nasty.

ny20005 · 19/03/2017 13:52

Gruff - you don't condone death threats but are happy to call NS a traitor & terrorist because you don't agree with her 🙄

I have no words for you - good luck, with your lovely attitude to life, you're sure to do well FlowersFlowers
