or at some point this month?

And I know there is a EU board tucked away somewhere but I'm interested in everyone's views.

They want to see a de-regulated tax haven and a different sort of politics.

Yes, this has always been my opinion too - same with the right wing MPs: Jacob Rees-Mogg, John Redwood and so on, who are multi-millionaires and own massively lucrative financial services companies.

That Brexit is some sort of working class revolt against the elite is the biggest joke ever played on us.

MrsDoylesladder · 15/03/2017 19:51

My mum voted Remain despite some DM friends because she knew it would screw things up for my sister's business and take rights away from her grandchildren. She was nearly 90 and died shortly after the vote.

So David Davis says the government won't know for a year the economic impact of leaving the EU with no Deal and having to resort to WTO rules.....and the way I fell about this is....numb. I've ceased to feel attached to anything as I feel like I have no power....... Even the recent govt white paper said we always had sovereignty ....just people didn't feel like we did...

Bananagio · 15/03/2017 21:16

Cannot believe that the banana and cucumber thing is being cited again. Grin

I bought some of both yesterday from my greengrocers here in Italy yesterday - both very bendy and the cucumber positively malformed. I wonder if the seller knew he was breaking the Big Bad EU laws?

Lalelou · 16/03/2017 09:03

"I wonder what is going to happen in today's Dutch election."

Great news, the Dutch saw the horrible mess that is Brexit and said Nee to populism Thanks to our Dutch friends and neighbours. Next French and Germany.

Lalelou · 16/03/2017 09:03

*France!
Brew is needed to wake up.

shovetheholly · 16/03/2017 09:08

Does anyone know where I can get figures modelling the cost of leaving the single market if the WHO rules on trade tariffs are followed? Someone must have done it, right? I am wondering how far Britain would be a net gainer from EU membership if this was modelled in?

DJBaggySmalls · 16/03/2017 09:10

shovetheholly
You would think that would be something the govt would have done and published, wouldn't you. Before they went ahead with the referendum.

Lalelou · 16/03/2017 09:24

"Does anyone know where I can get figures modelling the cost of leaving the single market if the WHO rules on trade tariffs are followed?"

Sadly our government has not done an economic assessment of leaving the single market lol.

Whatthefoxgoingon · 16/03/2017 10:43

Well done to the Dutch people for standing up against rising fascism. Star

pointythings · 16/03/2017 10:55

My vote hasn't been counted yet, the Dutch like most count postal votes last, but I feel good about being Dutch this morning and am bloody glad I voted.

Elendon · 16/03/2017 10:59

Well done the Netherlands and the Dutch for a poke in the eye to fascism.

Thanks lalelou. That makes for sobering reading - potentially a 10% reduction in trade, and the wipe-out of industries, including clothing and agriculture. Wow.

pointythings · 16/03/2017 13:42

The VVD are very right wing but Holland is always rules by coalition so there is always dilution of extremes. I would like to see a coalition with D66 and Groen Links, but who knows what will happen?
