Inspired by another thread.

WIBU to ask what's the rudest/cheekiest thing that's ever happened to you e.g. In a supermarket, in the cinema etc.
How did you respond?

God these stories are awful Angry
I was walking through the entrance to a shopping centre. Noticed an old boy ahead of me, maybe in his 80s. He was staring at me which made me feel really unsettled as he had piercing blue eyes. He got almost level with me then suddenly seemed to lose his balance, and he staggered over towards me and fell onto me with both his hands cupped around my breasts. A few people rushed over to see if he was ok while I just ran. I felt so violated! It was so intentional - but what could I do? Call out a doddery old boy who was unsteady on his feet?
And this is someone who was abused when I was young (8-13yo) by a man in his 70s.

The worst one for me was when I was about 9/10 going into primary school and one of the older boys came over to me, grabbed me into a hugood, pulled away and said 'this was a dare, I wouldn't hug you really because fat and ugly'.

That's been with me for over 20 years and it still hurts and I can remember the humiliation.

OhBlissOhJoy · 11/03/2017 23:51

It made me feel sick remembering/writing that Angry

TipBoov · 11/03/2017 23:59

My mum, the day after I'd had a csection, said "oh! Your tummy's not gone down has it? You still look round!"

I was very Hmm as the size of my tummy was the last thing I'd expected anyone to comment on!

lozster · 12/03/2017 00:00

Poor you. ohblissohjoy You were sexually assaulted. Not your fault. It's a hideous dirty feeling. The horrible old guy was probably a horrible young guy too. What a terrible position he put you in. Sad

At a xmas party all the kids were sat on the floor playing pass the parcel . I noticed a young girl only 6 years old had made a puddle (wet her self). No one came to help her and I couldn't see her mum she was sat right at the back of the pub. I went over and old the little girl everything it was ok and she hadn't done anything wrong and took her to one side to wait for her mum who had I had sent someone over to tell her. She came over and I smiled and said something along the lines of "oh bless her hey don't worry il grab some tissues and clean it up while you nip her to the loo" . I grabbed some paper towels and went back to mop it all up in front of everyone then went back into the loo to put the paper towels in the bin. I asked how she was and was completely ignored! Never came up to me to say thankyou or anything. I would have been happy with a smile and a nod of the head for all I care ! Rude!

Recently a diminutive Thai massage therapist took my hand and said she would pray for me because I'd never find a husband 'looking like this' and had I tried being feminine because god had designed me to look like a woman and she was sure there was a man out there 'even for you' 😂 (I am usually mistaken for a lesbian at first glance because of how I choose to look so am used to this nonsense)

My favourite was years ago on a st Pancras escalator when a bloke yelled out that my shirt made me look fat and I shouted back that his personality made him look like a cunt. Several people cheered and he strode off looking very uncomfortable. Silly tosser thought he'd ruin my day and absolutely made it instead Grin

OhBlissOhJoy · 12/03/2017 00:13

Thank you Lozster - it was awful and my immediate reaction was to slap him round the face. I wish to this day I had but can you imagine the reaction of the people around if I had? I'd have been completely vilified. I've had to go and shower since posting.

neverumind · 12/03/2017 00:29

Big hugs 🤗 to anyone on the receiving end of any of this crap. I've worked with some choice individuals ive come to refer to as TSFs (twisted sick fuckers) and DOFs (dirty old fuckers)

TheHodgeoftheHedge · 12/03/2017 00:44

It's funny the ones that stick in your mind isn't it? I've had far worse ones but the one that somehow still really hurts was trying on wedding dresses, where the assistant looked me up and down and then said we really don't have anything that would fit you, you're quite big for a bride. I was a small size12 at the time ffs.

user1489269570 · 12/03/2017 02:45

I was out on a night out (I had 3 kids at the time) I went outside the pub to get some air then these blokes was like a year younger than me from school 24/25 they said to each other her boobs look like an inflated tennis ball. I wanted to just cry there and then 😭😫 my dress wasn't even that revealing 😣

kiwimumof2boys · 12/03/2017 03:51

Ginger when I was in Thailand pre DC's years ago I was size 12. Went to a clothing stall and the woman looked me up and down and said 'No no no, Madame, we have no extra extra large for you!
I just walked away. And laughed. What else could you do?

Alleycat1 · 12/03/2017 06:37

The main incident (of many!) which sticks in my mind happened about 20 years ago. I was in my 40s and was waiting at a bus stop to go home from work. A chap in his 20s came by with 2 girls of the same age. As he got level with me he shouted "You have a mighty fine c##t!" I shouted back "Better that than a filthy mouth!" At which the entire queue, including a couple of men, applauded. His mother would have been so proud.....I started driving in after that.

redexpat · 12/03/2017 06:58

"Do you have ginger fiery pissy flaps?" WTF!!
Welcome to the life of redheads! The really annoying thing is that if you tell people stuff like this happens they NEVER believe you.

Sammysilver · 12/03/2017 07:21

I went out for a walk one lunch time and as I passed a man who was clearly intoxicated, he looked at me and shouted, 'You fat nigger!' I must admit, such is my vanity that my initial thought was I'm not fat. But then I remembered that I was seven months pregnant.

BigcatLittlecat · 12/03/2017 08:33

I was looking for a strapless bra to go under my wedding dress! I went into the lingerie department in John Lewis is Oxford St. I asked the assistant about one and she looked at me and just said "oh we don't do one in your size" and walked off! I was quite chunky at the time. That made me feel super special!

I went to an independent shop a few weeks later and they couldn't have been more helpful.

LalaLeona · 12/03/2017 08:44

when i was 16 i had very bad acne and long blonde hair. One day I was walking my dog, i was wearing a pair of shorts and a van full of guys started whistling and shouting at me from behind. I turned round and when they saw my spotty face they all recoiled and started shouting abuse about me being ugly! Wish I told them to fuck off but i just ran home. Gits!!!

Alleycat1 · 12/03/2017 08:52

Ginger I'm a redhead and so is my lovely stepdaughter. We love our red hair (copper mahogany we call it)and are convinced that the anti-ginger thing is sheer unadulterated envy. GrinMost of the people who shout out abuse are boring old mousey coloured and we are quick to point this out to them.

yorkshirepuddingandroastbeef · 12/03/2017 09:04

Being called a dogsbody when telling someone I was PA. This happened on two occasions in short succession. I was Shock. Wouldn't have minded but one was a nanny and the other one was a hairdresser.

sympatico1 · 12/03/2017 09:13

One of my colleagues at work (this was in the 70s when pervy comments at work were sadly the norm) made a remark about my rather large boobs (hated them then and I still do), I was mortified, but just said to him with a really disdainful look on my face "well at least you can tell what sex I am, I've never ever seen a bulge in your pants" to which the whole office cheered!

Clairaloulou · 12/03/2017 09:14

I was accosted once by a really angry old couple when I parked in a disabled bay. I have heart failure and am entitled to park there but because I'm young and not in a wheelchair people think they have the right to look at me like I'm a lying piece of whatever. Anyway this couple came up to me and said really loudly "you can't park there it's for the disabled! Where's your blue badge?" So I said "oh, you mean that one there?", pointing to it. He then sneered "Huh! Being fat doesn't make you disabled" unfortunately I get it a lot, and it really upsets me, because I think if they just knew what I'm living with they'd maybe treat me a little differently.

sympatico1 · 12/03/2017 09:25

Oh, just remembered another one!! Went to a "mother of the bride" shop looking for an outfit for son's wedding and the snooty assistant said "oh, don't think we have anything that will fit you, you are tiny (which is true, I'm 5 foot and size 8) but those boobs! We have nothing that will hide them! Needless to say I went to another shop (where the assistant - who had big boobs herself - said it wasn't a problem, happens all the time and sorted me out with lovely outfit that DID hide my boobs!).

Lara2 · 12/03/2017 09:33

Having read this whole thread I just feel so sad and angry. We need to make our children as robust as possible - we can't protect them from such twatish cruelty - we have to give them the confidence to stand up for themselves, and not let it affect them in the long term. Doesn't matter if they're female or male. I worry hugely for DS2 because he is ASD and what sort of world is he going to live in? Sad
