I've never been abroad, things have just gotten better financially, it's meant booking a few holidays.. I wondered of anyone would care to share what their favourite destination has been?

Loved Mauritius and South Africa, but just been for a 3 day break in Venice which was breathtaking. The whole place is stunning.

Iceland is truly amazing.

Raisinbrain · 11/03/2017 08:12

Croatia was absolutely stunning. Great food, great facilities and great service everywhere too. We sailed from Split. That was in 2008. I would love to go back.

Pitchforktotheface · 11/03/2017 08:16

Chiang Mai, in Thailand, was amazing. Really real want to go back.

BentleyBelly · 11/03/2017 08:20

Totally depends on what you are looking for in a holiday. I like to relax and eat! And we are normally on a budget. We like Greek Islands and the Algarve. Our honeymoon was in Thailand and it was amazing but was a kind of once in a lifetime expensive holiday for us, gorgeous spa hotels on the beach.

damnedgrubble · 11/03/2017 08:33

Norway, Sweden and Finland.

Try a cruise, see so many places and no packing! not popular on mumsnet but a great holiday in reality.

mickie678 · 11/03/2017 08:45

My favourite holiday destination was Paxos, a beautiful island along and then Ibiza. Both countries have wonderful friendly locals who are just amazing and now great friends.

awaynboilyurheid · 11/03/2017 08:45

forgot New York and Florida keys, Key west is a great town

Giddyaunt18 · 11/03/2017 09:51

Shamoffour · 11/03/2017 10:05

I've not travelled nearly as much as I would have liked and we plan to go everywhere when Dcs are grownup.
Best holiday so far- The Sandy Lane in Barbados. Beautiful island, amazing hotel and our first holiday as a couple it cemented our relationship. I would live to go back but 4 kids later we can't afford it!

user123346 · 11/03/2017 11:20

Australia 😍

sillypussy · 11/03/2017 11:40

Try a cruise and visit lots of different places.

Doordye · 11/03/2017 11:49

A cruise, we love them & so do our kids. We've no preference to cruise line we book according to ports & price/offers. You can do as much or as little as you want & compared to the food in all but your 5* resorts the meals are gorgeous.

So are we talking abroad money Maldives or abroad money Spain?! Family holiday or couple..and age of children has a bearing?

Personally ours (and us) all love a long weekend at the Centre Parcs near to us as for us it ticks all boxes...country, pool, etc We don't tend to do the expensive extras either...and ours have loved it from age 3 to the ages they are now....19,23,25! If my family is happy then I am to be honest.

We have travelled all over Europe and UK. We loved Northumberland , mostly cos we stayed on farm and the kids (the eldest was 15) went off with the farmer and wife to help out every morning with the lambs and bottle feeding, oh, and grooming the pony. Cornwall , especially when we've had fantastic weather. Love the UK , and Cornwall ,esp in the sun!

Turkey (Yalikavak) was lovely but v hot. Have just asked 19 year old..she said Paris (Eiffel Tower) touring to the Dordogne (Eurocamp) Italy and Rome (Eurocamp) Places where we have done stuff like canoing (Javea). Depends what you are looking for really? I didn't like USA Disney, but I don't like big rides so that bit was wasted on me! (I'm good as a coat holder though!)

As a couple DH and I went on a Thomson cruise , Dubrovnik and area, adults only, was fantastic...went up Mount Etna, round Dubrovnik. we felt v looked after and it wasn't as expensive or as posh (DH's worry) as we thought...but posh enough!

I have a huge lists of places I want to visit...in UK and abroad.
