Infrastructure grants could be on the chopping block in Trump budget

So, never mind now that the US infrastructure is falling into disrepair?

Lweji · 12/03/2017 13:42

John McCain was a decent candidate against Obama. I'm sure his main problem was Mad Woman Palin.

The return of the Pork Barrel, Across.

GingerIvy · 12/03/2017 14:03

Across that is exactly what I thought. Much easier for him and his friend to make money this way.

How did Flynn get clearance?

SanFranBear · 12/03/2017 16:18

This is all just so depressing Sad

Cut, slash, ignore, slander and obfuscate - that's the current administration's direction and nothing will swerve them from this course Angry

cozietoesie · 12/03/2017 16:37

Don't become so depressed, San. It was always going to be a long struggle. Just dig your heels in and STAND.

(And remember what Chomsky noted. Wink We do indeed know where we've been.)

It's a natural consequence of Trumpcare, I fear. (I use that term because, apparently, 45 isn't keen on it. Wink) Strictly speaking, it's not forcing them - except in the sense that if they don't enter employers' programs, they're financially penalised on healthcare insurance.

Trump Administration Plans to Gut Violence Against Women Programs

Well, I guess we don't need them anymore since we're headed back to the 1950s where women just obeyed their husbands so they didn't have to beat them.

What next? The repeal of the 13th amendment?

cozietoesie · 12/03/2017 17:31

Well it's sure going to be interesting to see whether the proposed 28th Amendment continues its passage.

BiglyBadgers · 12/03/2017 17:42

Strictly speaking, it's not forcing them - except in the sense that if they don't enter employers' programs, they're financially penalised on healthcare insurance.

Except if you can't afford the penalty you are being forced to test or lose your cover. So once again something that applies to the poor, but the rich can buy their way out of it. Hmm

I wonder if Florida Barbie, Pam Bondi, is being replaced too.

Pam Bondi is the Attorney General of Florida. It is an elected position by the people of Florida, of which I am one (although I did not vote for her). She cannot be fired and replaced by the AG of the United States.

Also, I'm no fan of her or of many of the Republican women referred to in these threads, but can we stop calling them Barbies. The joke was funny the first time, especially considering what Kellyanne was wearing to the inauguration, but it's starting to sound a wee bit sexist as we continue to call her that and as it is applied to more and more women.

AcrossthePond55 · 12/03/2017 18:13

It has about as much chance of passing as a snowball has in hell, cozie.

Many of the rules, especially regarding retirement, used to also apply to all Civil Service personnel, from the entry level clerks to the directors in the 'ivory tower'. Somehow those rules got changed for them, but not for Congress. Odd, that. (Not really)

Kremlin spokesman: Russian ambassador met with advisers to Clinton campaign too
thehill.com/policy/international/323582-kremlin-spokesman-russian-ambassador-met-with-advisers-to-clinton

Russian President Vladimir Putin's spokesman said in an interview Sunday that the Russian ambassador who met with Trump campaign officials also met with “people working in think tanks advising Hillary or advising people working for Hillary.”

So...he met some people who may have spoken to some people who worked for Hillary. Seriously? This is the best they can do? Clinton must be even cleaner than i had thought Hmm
