I watched the first two seasons avidly, mavis, but somehow couldn't watch the new series once Underwood was inaugurated as President. It made my skin crawl. Just as POTUS 45 does, I suppose.

This presidency is like a slow motion car crash. Angry

CussingQuim · 06/03/2017 16:33

Apparently whatever it is has been signed. Confused

originalbiglymavis · 06/03/2017 16:38

Donald Trump is to sign a new executive order on immigration later on Monday, his aide Kellyanne Conway has said. (from BBC news site)

I'm going to guess its a ban on hummus.

Dumdedumdedum · 06/03/2017 16:50

I joked about him, I poked fun at him, I had doubts about his business capability, his intelligence and capacity to make a president. I hoped he would surround himself, like Reagan, with advisers who would manage him and not bring the presidency and the country into disrepute. But never until since his inauguration did it occur to me that this man was a force for evil. And now, I honestly believe he is.

Are you trying to go underground?

Is tomorrow the 45th day of the 45th President? We should celebrate.

AcrossthePond55 · 06/03/2017 16:54

It's been signed 'privately'. So we're doing things in secret now. We've been watching TV all morning and there was no 'break in' with a Special Report.

Trump privately signed the new order Monday while Homeland Security Secretary John Kelly, Secretary of State Rex Tillerson and Attorney General Jeff Sessions formally unveiled the new edict. The low-key rollout was a contrast to the first version of the order, signed in a high-profile ceremony at the Pentagon's Hall of Heroes as Secretary of Defense James Mattis stood by Trump's side.

No press conference is scheduled.

Oh 45 as in 45th president. I thought it was a reference to his IQ (a bit generous).

I've found my set of 'Washington Behind Closed Doors'. Rather prescient it seems. Smile

ACLU Massachusetts -

Prejudice rewritten is still prejudice. We tracked changes in the new #MuslimBan2 against the earlier #MuslimBan

Does this link for the ACLU document work? aclum.org/wp-content/uploads/2017/03/2017_1_27-Muslim-Ban-EO-Word-VS.-2017_3_06-Muslim-Ban-EO.pdf

Try house of cards. It's like a documentary.

DH and I couldn't watch House of Cards. The whole tone of it made our skin crawl and Spacey was so repellant as to make it unenjoyable. In fact, I can't remember a single likeable character.

CaveMum · 06/03/2017 17:29

I have to keep rewatching West Wing, it's the only thing that gives me hope that there are/might be good, honest politicians out there!

helzapoppin2 · 06/03/2017 17:30

Guess who's back? Back again!

helzapoppin2 · 06/03/2017 17:31

House of Cards was nothing compared to this fiasco!

CussingQuim · 06/03/2017 17:31

Balls, did my link not work? Sorry! I've retweeted it so I can find and read later on the PC, hopeless on the tiny phone.

Thanks for the new thread, dum.

I can't get over the WH spokesperson saying, basically, that Obama should be considered guilty by the media (wrt to the wiretapping accusations), until an enquiry proves otherwise Shock

illegitimateMortificadospawn · 06/03/2017 17:37

On that basis, Trump should be behind bars for sexual assault and the rest.

CaveMum · 06/03/2017 17:37

"Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-S.C.) said Monday he’s seen no evidence to support President Trump’s claim that former President Barack Obama wiretapped his office during the presidential race."

Illegitimate, yes, you're right, if even a fraction of the stories (some decades old), about Trumps violence and sexual criminality are true, he should literally be in jail, not in the White House.
