I doubt many people here think that the CIA are knights in shining armour, Bigly. It looks like a distraction technique though.

cozietoesie · 07/03/2017 20:31

Which likely means either that those investigating the 'Russian connections' are getting close or that they're starting to hurt. Or both.

Just seen on Twitter makes you wonder...

I'm sure that the US posters will be noting these twitter posts. I doubt they'll be isolated examples.

Price really shows the "pro life" people up for the raving misogynists they actually are. If he was serious about saving precious little foetuses, he'd want to cut the abortion rate by providing affordable contraception. But no, the fact that he's prepared to raise the abortion rate as collateral damage in order to screw over women's control over their fertility because he doesn't want them - what - having the temerity to have sex? - shows him up for the raving hypocrite he is.

I have what seen comments from Trumpers along the lines of "people said trump wasn't tapped by Obama, but look this proves the CIA illegally spies on people"

Which of course it in no way supports the idea Trump had his phones tapped, but it does discredit the CIA at a time when trump is pointing fingers and claiming illegal activity. Also very distracting.

I agree it demonstrates how scared they are though, which is fun Grin

cozietoesie · 07/03/2017 20:48

As I think I said once, M0stly, I can live with other people's views - for a little - because I recall Chomsky saying something along the lines of 'If we know where we've been, it's easier to retrace our steps'. That comforts me.

What I cannot live with is corruption. I have to concentrate.

Cavemum, trainer-gelds-Trump raised a chuckle in this household Smile

cozietoesie · 07/03/2017 20:52

And

I recall my mother - a horsewoman- saying once that she'd found that if you gelded a horse, you took away half its brains.

I guess all things are...........relative, though. Wink

Reading the National Enquirer (I know, I know) and apparently 13 top behavioural health specialists and psychotherapists have decided Scrotus is - and I quote:

Natural-born leader... is a highly focused, driven and charismatic genius who thinks outside the box - and is almost too smart for his own good

Shock I have always read this with a healthy dose of disbelief but the entire article is rammed so far up his arse, it makes me feel queasy. Not sure I can continue to read - and I have bought it every week for over 20 years Sad

Although it does at one point say that he bends reality to fit his needs, so perhaps it's salvageable?

cozietoesie · 07/03/2017 21:03

San.

How many sure fire cancer cures have you read about in the NE? Over that 20 years? Wink

CaveMum · 07/03/2017 21:17

Glad the gelding story raised a few smiles. The rules on naming racehorses in South Africa. It's be a lot more relaxed than over here as you have to gain permission of he person concerned, or their relatives if they are deceased, if you want to name a racehorse after someone in the UK. Of course a way round it is to find a random person with the same name and get them to sign a letter of permission!

Lweji · 07/03/2017 21:18

I almost think it is coincidence the leak has come now just because it seems far too smart for Trump's guys.

For his guys, yes.
But who has the capacity to hack the CIA? Think about it.

illegitimateMortificadospawn · 07/03/2017 21:28

I just want to note how awesome Martina Navratilova's Twitter feed is - thank you to the PP who mentioned her tweet. She is commenting furiously on the Trump administration.

I find it interesting that Wikileaks can hack into the CIA, yet they can't hack into Trump's financial history. Just a thought.

(Re Trump's claim that Obama did a wire tap on him)

cozietoesie · 07/03/2017 21:51

I'd slightly disagree. If China is mad, I reckon they're more likely to be mad at Kim - the recent assassination wouldn't have gone down too well - so just hitting out at the US on general principle.

There's no doubt it's a dangerous and unstable situation though.

TheClaws · 08/03/2017 00:11

I read with interest the flurry of tweets from DT today. No further mention of wiretapping since the other day, but lots on JOBS!, fixing the disaster of healthcare (don't worry!), griping inaccuracies about Obama, and of course FAKE NEWS.

It's as if he sees his twitter feed as the only true source of real news - the horse's mouth, so to speak - and anything else is not to be trusted. Maybe Fox and Friends, and Brietbart on occasion, but otherwise, media is downright WRONG. I can see his point. The biases, particularly strong in US media, must be frustrating. Much of what I read could be classed opinion, not factual pieces. So, instead of 'fake', the word he should be using is 'subjective,' as what they are reporting isn't necessarily untrue but biased heavily to one side or the other.

So when Trump posts to Twitter, he perhaps feels this is an untainted piece of information. The problem arises when the source of the information is questioned. He cannot make a statement - nobody can - without giving a credible source. Media, at least, do this. Trump, as a President and an information source, loses credibility when he refuses to do so.

Sorry, rant over!
