Do you know me?

I've been here for a looong time. I namechange regularly now after being quite spectacularly outed in rl.

Dh reckons I'm still very obvious despite name changes. As in, family and friends would recognise me and all the many MNers I know in real life will instantly know it's me.

So here's an experiment. This name is fairly fresh and I've only posted a bit. Do you recognise me? Should inbe much more circumspect? And is it a bad thing if I'm recognisable, really?

elQuintoConyo Grin what you said.

MarciaBlaine · 04/03/2017 22:22

I got you immediately from the post about your family.

RatOnnaStick · 04/03/2017 22:24

You've given enough away for me to twig who you are, even though I don't really 'know' you here, (I don't think we've ever spoken to each other).

Hateloggingin · 04/03/2017 22:25

Jennifer - no that was someone else, weirdly I was only talking to my dh about that incident earlier today, I seem to remember whipped cream was involved but I may be getting my stories mixed up

MellieMGrant · 04/03/2017 22:25

It's funny scary, isn't it? One 'slip up' of detail and you're transparent.

WicksEnd · 04/03/2017 22:25

You live up north and have had a baby fairly recently?

HoneyDragon · 04/03/2017 22:26

I spotted you straight away you big lovable bellend. Because you're my bellend twin. Wink

MellieMGrant · 04/03/2017 22:26

Nope (hurrah! I'm a stealth ninja!)

JenniferYellowHat1980 · 04/03/2017 22:27

Yes, whipped cream rings a bell.

WhisperedLoudest · 04/03/2017 22:28

I don't recognise your tone/style but I recognise your story from when you were posting as R***y several years back.

I assumed you'd given up on MN Smile

WowserBowser · 04/03/2017 22:29

That's me Wicks Wink

MellieMGrant · 04/03/2017 22:29

I couldn't possibly give it up. It's like the whatsit hotel.

TheElephantofSurprise · 04/03/2017 22:31

I don't know you.
Dd recognises me, every name change.
I think a couple of former colleagues know me. If so, "Hi, S, I think of you, hope all is well."

HoneyDragon · 04/03/2017 22:31

Mumsnet isn't groovy or cool enough to be like California anymore, it's more like Hotel Kefolonia

MellieMGrant · 04/03/2017 22:32

HoneyDragon · 04/03/2017 22:32

I've not been spotted under a name changed unless I announce it

StrangeLookingParasite · 04/03/2017 22:32

The only person I think I would recognise is AnyFucker because she posts succinct one liners.

Usually containing the letters L, T, and B.

No, I don't recognise you, but I'd be unlikely to. I'm coming up for a name change though.

WhisperedLoudest · 04/03/2017 22:34

Hotel California indeed Grin

Memorable posters fall into two categories for me: those that you remember because their tone is always the same: AF, WL and those whose lives are a series of amusing (at least for the rest of MN!) anecdotes.

OP you fall into second for me.

TessaTeacake · 04/03/2017 22:35

ucm, is that you?
Classic. Sigh.

BigApple11 · 04/03/2017 22:38

I've never heard of you.

ZackyVengeance · 04/03/2017 22:44

Wow odd thread
Ive been on here 11 years but have nc a few times and can only think she f one person who would get my name

BenjaminLinus · 04/03/2017 22:49

Dunno, did you cancel the cheque?

Bambambini · 04/03/2017 22:50

Reality?

Don't recognise you but if you post recognisable stuff - are you surprised folk spot you?

MellieMGrant · 04/03/2017 22:52

Not really surprised. Just interested. I'll learn how to be subtle one day, I'm sure.
