Flight bookings to the United States also declined following the ban, according to ForwardKeys, a travel research company in Valencia, Spain. The company looked at 16 million flight reservations a day between Jan. 28 and Feb. 4 and found that international bookings to the United States were down 6.5 percent, compared with the same period last year.

Some travel companies, too, saw a dip in requests and bookings for trips to the United States.

Responsible Travel, a tour operator in Brighton, England, had a 22 percent decrease in trip inquiries to the United States following the travel ban. In contrast, the company’s overall business is up 30 percent this year, compared with the same period last year, said its chief executive, Justin Francis.

It's been such a beautiful day, I've been out soaking up some of that California sun.

Why are there deportations going on in the UK? Has this been in the pipeline and is now being effectuated or is Teresa May trying to show Trump up?

Sad. I mean it, though. People being torn away from their families and their lives is sad.

There have been internment camps in Britain for years now. But these two recent cases have been particularly shocking and hardly reported. I notice ICE interventions in US are met with protests, the silence in Britain is deafening.

If 'Flump' was able & confident in his role as POTUS then we wouldn't be having such a farce.

Just had a decadent afternoon watching the Oscars including the shock twist at the end. There were so many sly digs at the regime and so many statements about transcending borders and being inclusive.

I don't know how to feel about actors doing digs and things. It's a bit like comedy.

In one way - good, speak up, battle in any way you can. Don't go down quietly.

But in another, it comes across as a bunch of very privileged rich people preaching away and sniping at someone who was voted for by some of their audience. Even I wince a little bit.

Don't know what the answer is there.

(Although I like that there's a big massive verbal opposition to him, that's important so that "ordinary" people know they're not alone. Gah.)
