DH has bought me one as a surprise, it's just a random letter and number followed by my initials (wasn't mega expensive)

But I'm just not sure about it! He thinks it's the best gift ever 😳 But he says we can just not register it and sell it on if I don't want it. I don't want to be ungrateful but what's the general consensus? Are they for twats or not?

Cara, I think I would probably like you in real life.

However, I've noticed you a lot because your posting style seems almost lazy ( lots of copying and pasting) , then really abrasive.

I can't work you out, but then I don't usually feel like I want to work posters out...

Does it bother you? Would you like to improve your posting style? It's the constant quoting, without quotation marks, or highlighting, that irritates other posters.

I'm on my phone too.

I come in peace ✌️

I use quotation marks when I quote!!! I see them. Why can't the rest of you? How odd.

I have used quotation marks.

I have an excellent iPhone so I can only conclude the problem is this site.

Oh - and I highlight too.

"Bizarre really." (Have just inserted quotations marks, there, btw.)

EnormousTiger · 13/02/2017 07:43

I can see the quotes above but they are quite small so may be add before you start it As XYZ said above and I quote or something .... I think there is some difficult way to highlight a quote better but I've never learned or used it.

I don't usually like personalised plates but loved seeing that the Pukka Pie van delivering to the chippy had "PI3 VAN" plates recently.

What a pain this is. Why are things so complicated here?

We have two, so must be extra naff.

The first one is a W reg with one number and my initials which is also my nickname..having only one number you would maybe spot it as a personalised plate.

Our other is a 66 plate. I bought it for OH for Christmas as he had never had a new car and will likely be the only one. After playing around with the DVLA reg page, I realised as his name is five letters it would go on a number plate. It's something he would never of thought of but loves it and says it brings a smile to his face whenever he sees it.

I think the fact it's not obvious as he has an unusual family name is an bonus. The average person would not clock it a private plate

^NavyandWhite

Looks like you've got the gist. If you're on the mobile site under the box where you post are three circles, the one in the middle with the I tells you what to do regarding quoting, highlighting etc.^

Thank you.

CaraAspen · 13/02/2017 11:28

Only works for anything other than the quotation. Anyhow, thanks for trying.

I think this must be a regional thing because the area I live in, no one cares. If you want one, have one. If you don't like them don't have one. I have two, both identical except for one number on each plate being different. They spell our surname with a first initial. What I do think is pointless are the ones you have try and work out what they are supposed say because they are nothing like it at all.

Tangofandango · 17/02/2017 22:07

NavyandWhite sorry that bit about not being a chav wasn't meant for you. I was just replying to your post where you said you saw a GAY plate.
The other bit was just because lots of posters have been saying that anyone with a private plate must be a twat, or a chav, or naff. It wasn't directed to you, sorry it read that way.

Klaptout · 17/02/2017 22:47

Mine is not a personalised plate though it's BO08 which my son says is boob, I have letters which are significant to our family.
Each to their own I say.
