Aibu re personalised number plate? Yes or no

DH has bought me one as a surprise, it's just a random letter and number followed by my initials (wasn't mega expensive)

But I'm just not sure about it! He thinks it's the best gift ever 😳 But he says we can just not register it and sell it on if I don't want it. I don't want to be ungrateful but what's the general consensus? Are they for twats or not?

Our elderly neighbour is sometimes seen at her Black & Decker workmate, in her housecoat, sawing logs too large for her woodburner in two.

Is that the kind of thing you mean Cara? Wink

There are two nice cars around here with the plates 'Hi5' and 'Her5'. Never seen them together, but I'm sure the owners must be related.

limitedperiodonly · 12/02/2017 13:45

Did you mean shop in their nightwear? Cara? I'm going to nip out for essential supplies right now and am going to put on some proper clothes but have sniffed my armpits and decided that I don't need a wash.

My Dad (in his 70's, mad as a box of frogs but fabulous with it) bought the DCs personalised reg numbers when they were born. No idea why, we've never been a family for them but I have DS1's on my car (at my Dad's request - he says you have to pay a retainer if it's not on an actual vehicle, no idea if he was fibbing) and DH has DS2's one on his car til they hit 17 and become the DCs property. My Dad also saves money for them each month and is very frugal so it must have been a moment of absolute madness.

On the plus side, they're not outrageous ones which spell anything recognisable except to our family, so hopefully we're not massive wankers to MN. Just mild wankers.

Yes, I did. I corrected the typographical error.

Of course not! She sounds quirky. Smile
Bet she doesn't go to the supermarket without getting properly dressed, though.

Oh clunk I just got your meaning!!

Shockers · 12/02/2017 14:18

I did wink! Grin

Shockers · 12/02/2017 14:19

It's true though. She's in her eighties and is completely fabulous!

ChuffMuffin · 12/02/2017 14:32

I'm not a fan of them, but someone by me has K3LLY which I must admit is cool!

ExitPursuedBySpartacus · 12/02/2017 14:37

I wish you would learn how to highlight Cara. It makes for much easier understanding.

londonrach · 12/02/2017 14:38

Vvv naff.

Wish you would learn to use commas!

She sounds great and very much her own person!

I think CaraAspen (sorry to talk about you as if you are not here) has no edit function and just says exactly what's on her mind. It is a bit hard to stomach at times, but it is also sort of refreshing (even when you disagree with her pov)

Thank you. You are very kind.
I use my iPhone to post which explains the edit thing. I type fast and try to avoid bothering with the preview.
