www.facebook.com/peterandjaneandmummytoo/ if you click the link you'll see the current top post I think about daddy lost his keys - not sure how to link directly to it

I feel ill it's so awful. A horrid grumpy twat of a man stomping about cos he can't find his keys, blaming everyone but himself and then mummy 'joking' about hitting him over the head with the gin bottle

this is 1980's humour like jim davidson and mother in law killing jokes etc... isn't it?

relationships shouldn't be like that - one person having violent thoughts and/or walking on eggshells all the time while a ridiculous incompetent man child has a tantrum

this crap is why so many women think that is all there is in men out there. uselessness at best and abusive at worst.

UGH

Yes, ill - in the same way the Peter Andre and Donald Trump make me feel ill

Makes me feel slightly ill that anyone would put them in the same analogy, as if they are equal. A bit like equating a broken nail and being eaten alive by wolves.

fitgirl26 · 07/02/2017 23:30

I love Peter and Jane. My children are grown up now but it would have really helped me through the first few years to know that it's not abnormal to feel like you hate them sometimes! Her PND post was excellent and judging by the comments it struck a chord with many women.

SarcasmMode · 07/02/2017 23:32

Modern day Punch and Judy.

TheNiffler · 07/02/2017 23:49

I like it, it's an excellent pisstake. Mind you, I also follow Judgey Dog, he's funnier.

Crazycatlady123 · 08/02/2017 04:29

I like it, it's tongue and cheek but each to their own. Why do people take everything so seriously? No ones forcing you to look at it.

Mummyoflittledragon · 08/02/2017 05:42

Not my thing. I almost cracked a smile. Once. It's slapstick and doesn't reflect me or my parenting/marriage. No heirs and graces here so that's probably why it doesn't do it for me. But I can see the appeal.

TheWrathFromHighAtopTheThing · 08/02/2017 09:08

To the people who keep saying 'if you don't like it, don't read it'. How boring is that as an argument?

Don't like something? That's it then, you may not share your opinion on it, for ever more. I never understand that line of thought, at all.

Boring but sensible. It's not the news. It's not required reading for anything. More boring is reading something you don't like just so you can whine about it.

TheWrathFromHighAtopTheThing · 08/02/2017 09:38

Navy that's not my point. I'm not trying to change anyone's mind about a random blog written by a stranger.

My point is, this is a discussion forum - and the OP asked for opinions. If the people on one side of a debate are (apparently) not entitled to contribute, that's some pretty boring chat.

If you don't like it, don't read it, is a bullshit response. Don't like Donald Trump? Just don't read about him. Not a fan of ISIS? Just don't watch the news.

Disliking something doesn't negate your right to an opinion.

NarkyMcDinkyChops · 08/02/2017 09:40

You're taking a comment about one thing and applying it to everything, which is rather silly as it doesn't apply to everything, only to this thing. We are talking about an inconsequential blog post. Of course you can have whatever opinion you like, but the only real solution to not liking it is not reading it, wouldn't you say?

jujubeanz · 08/02/2017 09:43

LOL at comparing Peter and Jane to ISIS Grin

I followed after the last thread on here about them. I've never managed to read a whole post of hers though. Too long winded.

AntiQuitty · 08/02/2017 10:02

What a load of overwritten shit!

TheWrathFromHighAtopTheThing · 08/02/2017 10:06

LOL at how I in no way compared Peter and Jane to Trump, but rather how I extrapolated a point made to show it's vapidness.

So it's not arsey to say 'if you don't like it don't read it' but it is arsey to say (politely by the way) that I think that argument doesn't really stand up to scrutiny? Ok then. Confused

lubeybooby · 08/02/2017 11:09

Those saying blah blah don't read - I haven't read the whole blog (and won't either) this post is about specifically that loathsome 'daddy lost keys' one

I had it put upon me unfortunately by someone who tagged me in it - who should have known better and has since been put straight Wink

I've hidden all posts from the page too now Smile

OP posts:
witsender · 08/02/2017 11:13

Saying that people shouldn't read it if they don't like it if they express and opinion on a thread designed to discuss opinions seems like a very childish argument tbh.

dailydance · 08/02/2017 11:23

Haven't heard of it before. Read through the first couple of posts. Shame I won't get that time back. Unfunny, tedious, boring, try too hard

Myrobalanna · 08/02/2017 11:25

I admit to spending some time wondering which old-timer MNer is writing PeterandJane Grin It's just too pat.
(But I worry about how much she drinks. Seriously hope it's fiction!)

maddiemookins16mum · 08/02/2017 11:49

It's not my cup of tea (and I'm slightly annoyed at myself for clicking the link), but making you feel ill? Really?
Bet you a packet of Quavers you do come back and read the thread (it's too tempting not to). 😊

lubeybooby · 08/02/2017 11:56

maddiemookins I'm talking about not having read the whole peterandjane blog not this thread... of course I read this thread Smile

and fgs yes, ill in the same way Peter Andre makes me feel ill (as already answered upthread Wink )

It really isn't. It's the only obvious thing to say. What else are you going to say.."hey you hate it, thanks for sharing. Please read it every day and come back and tell us again how much you hate it? Thanks"

It doesn't matter. Nobody cares if you like it or hate it. No debate is necessary here, because its not debate worthy. If you like it, jolly good, read it and enjoy. If you don't like it, never mind, you don't have to read things you don't like. #
What else is there to possibly say?

TheWrathFromHighAtopTheThing · 08/02/2017 16:05

In that case Narky, what's the point in posting to say you do like it either?

Oh right, because this is an open forum for conversation where the OP asked for opinions...

Aworldofmyown · 08/02/2017 16:13

I like it, we can't all find the same things funny.

except for Mrs Browns boys, anyone who likes that is weird
