www.facebook.com/peterandjaneandmummytoo/ if you click the link you'll see the current top post I think about daddy lost his keys - not sure how to link directly to it

I feel ill it's so awful. A horrid grumpy twat of a man stomping about cos he can't find his keys, blaming everyone but himself and then mummy 'joking' about hitting him over the head with the gin bottle

this is 1980's humour like jim davidson and mother in law killing jokes etc... isn't it?

relationships shouldn't be like that - one person having violent thoughts and/or walking on eggshells all the time while a ridiculous incompetent man child has a tantrum

this crap is why so many women think that is all there is in men out there. uselessness at best and abusive at worst.

UGH

OP posts:
MadisonAvenue · 07/02/2017 19:09

Her comments about Wheeler fucking Dealers always make me laugh. I feel her pain on that one.

JustDanceAddict · 07/02/2017 19:12

I have my own Gadget Twat so highly sympathise. sime of her posts are better than others, but she often hits the mark. Lovely evening Judgy Dog!

Deranger01 · 07/02/2017 19:17

i like it, i'd like lovely granny! it makes a change from all the articles about how to improve your parenting, how your parenting is crap, why you're damaging your children etc. etc.

Mamagin · 07/02/2017 19:19

I love it. Does this mean that my tastes are inferior to yours, or just different?
Nothing like Jim Davidson or Mother in Law jokes! What makes you laugh, OP, as I am imagining you sat in the corner primly tutting.

ArriettyClock1 · 07/02/2017 19:26

Aargh! A couple of my friends kept liking the posts so they would appear on my FB (until I hid them).

So unfunny, contrived, clichéd and try-too-hard.

My friends that like it do find absolutely everything hilarious in rl too. We go for nights out and they will be crying laughing over something and I am Confused and having to fake laugh.

Whatslovegottodo · 07/02/2017 19:26

She makes me laugh. Not all the posts but some are great and JD is super cute!

weebarra · 07/02/2017 19:36

Didn't she write a rather good post about access to abortion and contraception? I shared that one.

thebear1 · 07/02/2017 19:40

I enjoy it, if you just read that one without the context of other posts it does sound harsh.

witsender · 07/02/2017 19:44

They're just too try hard. Some writers have a natural gift for comedy and swears etc own and seem appropriate. It seems like she has a set number of swears per line that she has to cram in to be edgy, and it just comes across a bit crap.

witsender · 07/02/2017 19:47

Nearly a quarter of a million people like/follow it! Bonkers I tells you.

needapaddle · 07/02/2017 19:47

Love it, and thoroughly identify with it - judge me all you like, I think she is fucking hilarious. YABU OP - each to their own I think in this case (maybe unclench a bit I'd say, there are a lot of very serious and very bad things happening in the world right now. This is not one of them. If you don't like it don't read it).

Meeep · 07/02/2017 19:56

I blocked them the other day. But people I know must be liking and sharing them enough for me to bother to block them so I'm sure they're v popular. I just don't go for twee things myself.

Pixel · 07/02/2017 20:00

First time I've heard of this as I don't do the Facebook thing. Having had a quick glance through I find it a bit silly as I've never gone in for all the hitting the wine and being at the mercy of your kids nonsense. Honestly some of the things these people 'struggle' with I just want to say 'get a grip' it's really not that hard! However, I can see most of it is for comic effect and clearly not offensive in any way. Some people seem to look for things to get offended by.

NarkyMcDinkyChops · 07/02/2017 20:06

I feel ill it's so awful

If this is true you need to get off the internet, go for a walk, and take a long look at yourself.

GraceGildee · 07/02/2017 20:13

Don't like this one but I fucking love Totes Innapropes.

MrDacresEUSubsidy · 07/02/2017 20:14

It makes me laugh. She's previously posted that she doesn't actually drink every day, contrary to the photos. A lot of it is clearly tongue in cheek and satirical. There's some very po-faced comments on here which are equally funny; if you don't like it then don't read it - I'm sure that Gill won't lose any sleep as a result.

Her posts about feeding choices, equality, PND and mental health have been incredibly supportive. But yeah, it's "awful through and though" Confused

kitXi · 07/02/2017 20:25

It's not my sort of thing so I don't read the posts when they pop up on my news feed. I give credit to her for doing something different from the endless "and today we had a simply SUPER time with our homemade heuristic basket, here are some links for you to buy the stuff which I get cash from if you don't happen to have it lying around" types. But then there's now a lot of these "I shout at my kids and drink alcohol a lot because that's REAL parenting" and they're getting a bit samey. Surely real parenting is somewhere in between the two? Some lovely cuddly, feeling blessed and making memories, some fuck this get the kids to bed before I lose my shit, but mainly just.. normal. I suppose that wouldn't make for a very interesting blog though.

weebarra · 07/02/2017 20:25

Lessthanaballpark · 07/02/2017 20:58

Oh I quite liked them.

ElspethFlashman · 07/02/2017 21:10

But then there's now a lot of these "I shout at my kids and drink alcohol a lot because that's REAL parenting" and they're getting a bit samey.

Testify!

"Oh my child wouldn't put his coat on and kept asking inane questions instead - DRINK!"

I prefer The Harridan. She has 5 (5!!!!) sons and has had a rough few months. Still really amusing.

NarkyMcDinkyChops · 07/02/2017 21:16

But then there's now a lot of these "I shout at my kids and drink alcohol a lot because that's REAL parenting" and they're getting a bit samey

Don't read them then? That is real parenting, in that it is the reality for some parents. Whatever is true for you is real parenting too.

Rowgtfc72 · 07/02/2017 21:19

Not read today's yet but think they're funny.
Some days she is so living my life, especially with wheeler dealers and gadget twat.

Allthebestnamesareused · 07/02/2017 21:20

If the writer is on here can I just say can you make them a tad shorter sometimes!

Titsywoo · 07/02/2017 21:29

I think they are funny. Obviously massively over-exaggerated for comic effect but lots of it rings true. I don't think the alcohol obsessiveness though.

DH said she is actually a single mum so I guess it's all made up. Not sure where he got that info.

I love it when she calls her DH gadget twat - I might steal that as my DH certainly is one Grin.

Noofly · 07/02/2017 21:32

It's funny in small doses, but it does seem to be variations of the same few posts over and over and over again.
