www.facebook.com/peterandjaneandmummytoo/ if you click the link you'll see the current top post I think about daddy lost his keys - not sure how to link directly to it

I feel ill it's so awful. A horrid grumpy twat of a man stomping about cos he can't find his keys, blaming everyone but himself and then mummy 'joking' about hitting him over the head with the gin bottle

this is 1980's humour like jim davidson and mother in law killing jokes etc... isn't it?

relationships shouldn't be like that - one person having violent thoughts and/or walking on eggshells all the time while a ridiculous incompetent man child has a tantrum

this crap is why so many women think that is all there is in men out there. uselessness at best and abusive at worst.

UGH

I love it. That keys one is spot on for Dh. He's not violent and aggressive, but he does stomp around like a twat looking for stuff all the time.

HumphreyCobblers · 07/02/2017 21:38

I find it hilarious. It is the only one I have read that I would bother reading again.

Also lots of people do swear a lot in real life like me

Oblomov17 · 07/02/2017 21:42

I quite like her normally, but I haven't liked her last few posts re going away for the weekend and daddy losing his keys.

MongerTruffle · 07/02/2017 21:43

Bet she's on MN. She probably gets some of her ideas for her stories from here.

She could be reading this thread.

Pinkponiesrock · 07/02/2017 21:48

Most of the time it's very funny, the gun festival one is hilarious. However I do agree that sometimes her posts are not very funny and if my husband was that useless I would definitely have bashed him with a gin bottle a long time ago, probably wouldn't have had children with him either!

Pinkponiesrock · 07/02/2017 21:49

Gin festival not gun festival Blush blooming autocorrect

kitXi · 07/02/2017 21:50

Narky I don't Smile they appear on my newsfeed when friends like or share them, and it's hard to scroll past without the word "gin" being repeated in capitals several times. Plus clickbait articles ("this hilarious mum just told the Real Truth about being a parent" - picture of woman with large glass of wine) all over the bloody Internet!

To each their own, I don't denigrate anyone for their choice of what to read or indeed write about. I just don't think that any account of parenting is any more "real" and "truthful" than another. It's all exaggerated be that the magical moments with your picture perfect angels or the bottles clinking away in your bins after the little fucker said a swear word in church.

TheOnlyColditz · 07/02/2017 21:51

SHe's hilarious and I love her. I look forward to her facebook posts and have laughed out loud at every single one. If you really are badly affected by someone else attempting humour, switch the computer off and don't swith it back on again until you've spoken to another grown up. You need perspective.

AlmaMartyr · 07/02/2017 21:55

Lots of people seem to love them, I think they all get shared into my FB feed by someone (and I only follow about 20 people). I do read them, I find them a bit try-hard sometimes and the constant references to drink are a bit twee but some of it is very funny. I've liked some of the more political ones too, which have been excellent. DH and I did laugh over the recent lost keys one as it felt quite close to home. He doesn't storm around and swear, and I don't drink but he is awful for asking me where his lost things are and ineffectually looking for them. It's a in-joke between us, and not an indicator of a dysfunctional marriage. It didn't strike me as especially like Jim Davidson humour although I can see where you're coming from.

NarkyMcDinkyChops · 07/02/2017 21:55

Of course they are. Yours is more real and truthful to you, and mine is to me, and hers is to her. She's not pretending to speak for anyone else.

Badcat666 · 07/02/2017 22:01

Read a couple and is quite funny! I was hoping I had found a replacement for Terry Wogan's Janet and John for a minute when I clicked on the link but alas no Grin

clippityclop · 07/02/2017 22:06

Don't like the effing and jeffing but the rest is hilarious.

I find these sorts of things really irritating. There seem to be so many of them and all very similar. I just scroll past them but a lot of my friends seem to enjoy them (especially those whose children are still very little). The wine/gin obsession is particularly annoying.

There is something I've seen a few times recently which is videos (vlogs?) featuring two American women chatting about parenting and their partners etc. It's really not much different from any of these blogs in its content, but I find both women quite watchable and amusing in their delivery so I do pause to watch those sometimes.

SheSaidNoFuckThat · 07/02/2017 22:15

I think it's funny, people take things far too seriously

Iris65 · 07/02/2017 22:16

I found one or two posts funny but it quickly became repetitive and I'm not a fan of the jokes about domestic abuse. Too much personal experience of it.

Downtheroadfirstonleft · 07/02/2017 22:18

They can be funny, but SO repetitive.

Badcat666 · 07/02/2017 22:18

Ok... I've read some more... still funny!!! Grin

Sillybillypoopoomummy · 07/02/2017 22:21

I love it!

lubeybooby · 07/02/2017 22:23

@NarkyMcDinkyChops

Yes, ill - in the same way the Peter Andre and Donald Trump make me feel ill

OP posts:
ShelaghTurner · 07/02/2017 22:35

I love it and look forward to the posts. But then some people on fb share the most unfunny, ridiculous things which leave me cold. Each to their own.

ShelaghTurner · 07/02/2017 22:36

Like cats FFS. Stop posting memes about bastard cats!

Howyoualldoworkme · 07/02/2017 22:38

I've met the Peter and Jane writer. I wouldn't get between her and a wine bottle Wink

witsender · 07/02/2017 22:51

It is very cool right now to be a little too dependent on booze and swearing about your kids. I genuinely don't know any parents who do that in real life, which is why it doesn't reflect anything for me, especially no 'real truths no-one else has the guts to say' schtick.

DailyMailFuckRightOff · 07/02/2017 22:55

I suppose the good thing about Facebook is that you can choose not to see Peter and Jane posts if they make you feel so desperately ill.
It's one perspective on life with children. There are others.
