...to see what your (master) bedroom looks like?

I can vaguely remember similar threads but have done a search and can't find a bedroom one. We are swapping rooms in our upstairs to even out the other 2 rooms so moving from front to back of house. Just being nosy looking for inspiration if anyone is willing to post? I can post our current one once DS is asleep Smile

"The former is just fantasy or wishful thinking..."

I disagree. It was mischievous and intended to dupe those who would ooh and aah.

CaraAspen · 03/02/2017 10:47

Sadly, I can only do links. Some are clearly more adept at this sort of thing...

AQuietMind · 03/02/2017 10:48

How strange people would post fake pictures Confused

EnormousTiger · 03/02/2017 10:49

I certainly didn't mean mine were good - I meant those above. Some really nice ones are out there. I just don't have an artistic eye and I suppose am not that interested.

it is wise we all remember picture search and hidden meta data I suppose although my bed room is hardly confidential information and indeed i think some location agencies have it on their websites anyway. A Ruth Rendell mystery was filmed here even for 10 days a long while back so it's hardly confidential information. A "murder" took place in our house. I thought we'd never have to work again given all the money from that and then we just about had no filming since then so end of yet another one of my ideas for making money as ever....

CaraAspen · 03/02/2017 10:53

I know this isn't a bedroom but it is lovely:

This is our guest room, rather than our master but I love the wallpaper in this one too.

To be fair, nothing else stood out enough for me to feel the need to search it. People proud enough of their decor to post a very staged photo here are likely the kind of people who get their inspiration from, and put said photos up on, Pinterest. And even where they might be claimed to be so-and-so's bedroom on one or more of the links turned up, there's probably little way of being sure that isn't the Mumsnetter. Rooms in expensive-looking Parisian hotels, however...

WeeKelpie · 03/02/2017 11:06

I think there was more mischief in not saying what pictures a person had found to be fake as anything else just causes unnecessary suspicion.

A few more of my room, my nicknacks. The angels are self-explanatory. As is the crown - Im the queen of my castle. The little print is of Tenby where we have a lot of happy memories of as a family and the fat lady in the swimsuit was a present to me from my daughter after we had a bucket and spade holiday in France with the children - I am that lady!

Weird that you would stick up for people deliberately being dishonest. The rightmove link is in Tunbridge Wells, where I live. The person who posted the photo is in Birmingham (apparently).

Very odd, it spoils nice threads.

cathyandclare · 03/02/2017 11:21

Foxes it is a lovely bedroom though!
Just because the images are on Pinterest/Right Move/Interior magazines doesn't mean they're not genuine ignores hotel pics we have no idea who's on here, Kelly Hoppen could be a MNetter for all we know ( although is she is I hope she didn't check on the Great Interior Design Challenge threads Grin )

WeeKelpie · 03/02/2017 11:23

I just think in a situation like this they're indulging in a fantasy of what they would maybe like their bedroom to be like. They're harmless. However, doing reverse searches then posting they're are other fake pictures on the thread without being explicit as to what pictures are a posters 'pretend' bedroom causes suspicion and will probably have innocent people thinking - I hope he/she doesnt mean me.

Your right move links - I haven't look at them. The thread kind of came to a halt for me when 'StumpedifIknow' posted as she did.

Foxesarefriends · 03/02/2017 11:30

WeeKelpie I disagree entirely, I am bored of 'harmless' people on the internet living out their fantasies. I don't understand your desire to knock those who call them out on it.
I am not going to de rail the thread anymore though.

Hopefully some more genuine photos will be posted, I enjoy looking at them, rather than going on to Pinterest.

Cathy as I said before, that house is very near me in Tunbridge Wells, the poster apparently lives in Birmingham. It's from rightmove in 2013 which was then re pinned over 2000 times on Pinterest.
I should go round and introduce myself Grin

I agree with you entirely about being fed up of people living out their fantasies and its why I always report threads I think are false - I reported 3 in the last week.

Posting daft pictures of a bedroom is hardly in the realms of being a GF or a troll and StumpedifIknowit' didnt call anyone out, instead she quite cowardly only said enough to make people suspicious of some of the bedrooms and probably have posters thinking - Oh I hope people don't think she meant me.

I hope you enjoy the rest of the thread. Im going back to my previous name and posting on my usual threads.

MangosteenSoda · 03/02/2017 11:46

It's hard to take a good picture of a room! Especially when you have to move a pile of crap out of the way for each shot Grin

Some lovely bedrooms. This thread is great for nosey parkers like me.

My room is quite big, but badly designed so we can't fit enough wardrobes in. DH has to have his wardrobes in his study.

Clearly my bedroom is so spectacular, I needed to post it twice Wink

EnormousTiger · 03/02/2017 11:56

I had the same trouble Mango. I suppose you need a massive step ladder and wide angle lens. That is why I tried panarama modeon the phone which I did see one of my sons using on holiday and it worked for him but nothing seemed to take on my phone.

[For the record I am not Kelly Hoppen...... which is obviously from the fact I have not changed my room much since the house was built although I do like the high ceilings and space. I would not have chosen the carpet but it's there through the whole house nor the curtains but those would be very expensive to change. I like the absence of any knick nacks at all but people differ on that - some people love them. My father's half of the bedroom always was clear surfaces (like mine now) and my mother had all sorts piled up - just different personalities.

Foxesarefriends · 03/02/2017 11:58

You have air conditioning? Envy
Very calm room, I like the flooring especially.

MangosteenSoda · 03/02/2017 12:06

Aircon, no heating. We aren't in the UK or that would be mental, obviously!

The floor's actually some kind of cheap overly varnished planks with a ton of scratches. I'm pleased it looks better than the reality!

CaraAspen · 03/02/2017 12:19

Yes, weird.

This is my room,it's nearly finished just got to put the wallpaper up on the wall behind the bed. It's my favourite room in my house.

MangosteenSoda I would love aircon and I am in the U.K. Blush, that's middle age getting to me I think.

The flooring looks like some exotic hardwood in the photo.

CaraAspen that is a really beautiful room. We live in the US and used to do up houses which were pretty much abandoned and derelict, some of the ones we looked around were amazing in a haunting, faded glory sort of way. I always found them very serene.
