to still be cross about the outcome of the EU referendum?

I'm still so angry and can't forgive those who voted to leave. After the result there was much talk of how the two sides must put aside their differences but I don't feel there has been any attempt to try to appease the 48.1% of people who voted to stay. I also want to rip the head off any one who says it's the will of the people. They should be legally obligated to say it's the will of 51.9 % of the people who voted. If the vote had gone the other way you can bet that UKIP would still be making a huge fuss about it but remainers are expected to "just get over it"!

Mainland EU will suffer little for paying tariffs on the UK

Certain UK businesses will really suffer as their exports will drop considerably, but those on the Continent will be fine.

Peregrina · 05/02/2017 21:23

David Davis talking about deals with German car makers just shows how incredible badly informed he is

This is the sad thing, and as an MP it's his duty to make decisions which are for the good of the country. Whereas with us, just bods offering opinions on the internet, we don't need to know.

ihatetosay · 05/02/2017 21:25

lets leave now

meltownmary · 05/02/2017 21:27

Booze cruises no more.

Duty free from Europe as if you were coming in from Turkey or the likes. Yikes!

That is the important thing for those who travel, forget about exports and imports, and trade deals and all the rest of it, that is unimportant lol.

I am being lighthearted here. But honestly.

DorkusDelonghi · 05/02/2017 21:29

Are any of you buying currency before A50 is triggered?

I am thinking of buying to see us out for the next 2 years as we have financial obligations in the USA and Europe and most of our income is in GBP.

Ta1kinPeace · 05/02/2017 21:31

Too late for that

and the holding cost is greater than the arbitrage risk at under $100,000 blocks

Even in such a potentially volatile currency market?

I am never going to forgive myself for not buying before the vote as I thought it would be to remain and I would buy on the immediate post vote appreciation of the GBP. Ha. Stupid stupid.

Peregrina · 05/02/2017 22:09

I'm cross with myself too, for not buying in some currency.

addictedtorunning · 05/02/2017 22:11

ihatetosay is so very typical of the genre sadly.

WrongTrouser · 05/02/2017 22:31

And how much you feed into the argument of 'Brexiteers are stupid'.

I thought you remainers didn't like sterotyping and name-calling?

birdybirdywoofwoof · 05/02/2017 22:37

I don't mind it- i just am trying to point out the hypocrisy of the posters - like you - who repeatedly get upset about 'divisive' talk when it's directed at leavers but blithely ignore any nastiness towards remainers.

WrongTrouser · 05/02/2017 22:52

Goodness gracious. How many times do I have to say it?

In my view, name-calling and insults from remainers or leavers is unhelpful, divisive and damaging.

Draylon I am not taking issue with that. My problem is your comment -

And how much you feed into the argument of 'Brexiteers are stupid'

If you think it is right to extrapolate from one person (who incidentally wasn't being stupid, just brief) to judge another 17 million, then you are 1) wrong and 2) stereotyping.

Anyway, I am beginning to feel that it is fruitless to try to argue with people who are so convinced that they are the voices of tolerances and liberalism that it is okay for them to treat others in an intolerant and illiberal way.

WrongTrouser · 05/02/2017 23:01

I am not trying to be inclusive, or 'caring'; nor 'divisive and unhelpful or damaging'

I am very much aware of that.

I am just pointing out the irony.

To be honest the only time i ever hear the term 'liberal' is in the pub

Someone said it meant listens to others opinions

It doesnt seem to be used as a self descriptor very often

WrongTrouser · 05/02/2017 23:11

I appreciate that you're not taking an issue with me saying Ihatetosays 's comment is stupid

That wasn't my initial point but I disagree that the comment was stupid and said

(who incidentally wasn't being stupid, just brief)

I just think there's nothing to be gained by insulting people but heyho.

If the Vote really hurts so much, you could always move to North Korea where democracy isn't so important?

DorkusDelonghi · 06/02/2017 06:26

I think you misunderstand democracy, Beadryl. Remainers can work against the vote and express our pain at the outcome of the vote precisely because we live in a democracy.

If we lived in a totalitarian regime we would have to accept Brexit without the opton to work against it.

Democracy seems to be the opposite to what you think it is.
