to still be cross about the outcome of the EU referendum?

I'm still so angry and can't forgive those who voted to leave. After the result there was much talk of how the two sides must put aside their differences but I don't feel there has been any attempt to try to appease the 48.1% of people who voted to stay. I also want to rip the head off any one who says it's the will of the people. They should be legally obligated to say it's the will of 51.9 % of the people who voted. If the vote had gone the other way you can bet that UKIP would still be making a huge fuss about it but remainers are expected to "just get over it"!

The decision to leave the EU will be proved to be the right one when the single euro currency collapses.

angethomp190 · 04/02/2017 11:43

Alljay, so pleased you are coming to the march too. I think it is around 10,000 saying they are going at the moment.

It certainly feels better trying to do something about it even if nothing changes. I get so mad when Theresa May talks about 65 million people behind her - we need to show her that she is wrong!

ForalltheSaints · 04/02/2017 11:50

I am cross that we seem to be going for a hard Brexit. Do we really want to suffer that much loss of trade and income to reduce net migration by c50,000 a year (my estimate after you accept that people filling skills shortages are able to come and work here).

RufusTheSpartacusReindeer · 04/02/2017 11:58

A further thought on this, do you think referring to 16 million people as losers which May did, while it may be strictly accurate, is not a damaging statement?

wait a minute ...did she call me a loser??

Dozy fucking trollop

I have just finished reading this thread very carefully from start to finish and so glad that the OP started it, esp the section on NI which I didn't really understand as well as I do now.

I still feel so upset and angry at the vote but friends (mostly remainers) seem to have reconciled themselves to it and just don't discuss it anymore. I get told that I need to move on.... you know, the usual..... Really nice to have found a place where I can share all my fears and frustrations with like minded people.

I feel that it will be a disaster to leave and even more so now that we are being pushed into the arms of that orange loon across the pond. May rushing over there is just embarrassing but omg inviting him back on a state visit?! Dear god... can't be revoked of course as his wrath would have no ends and sadly we can't afford to upset him now can we.

There was a poster ages back, I think their name was something like sweetnotsour and she/he admitted to having made a mistake in voting to leave. I just wanted to acknowledge the courage that it must take to say such a thing especially on a thread with so many feelings running high.

The march on 25th March is definitely in my diary! I pray that somehow this decision is reversed for all our benefit and the good of our country, although if I am honest I think it would end in bloody civil war so whichever we turn things don't look great.

*The decision to leave the EU will be proved to be the right one when the single euro currency collapses.

And this will affect us how exactly?*

Because if we are in the EU we will be made to bail the buggers out!!

House of Lords is the last chance saloon.

Otherwise it's going to happen. Sadly.

finallyfinishedit · 04/02/2017 18:23

I have signed the LibDems petition for a referendum on the final deal.

The currency that has virtually collapsed is the £ sterling.

WrongTrouser · 05/02/2017 10:04

"virtually collapsed" you say. How's that?

fakenamefornow · 05/02/2017 10:09

I have signed the LibDems petition for a referendum on the final deal.

Can you please link to it.

PigletWasPoohsFriend · 05/02/2017 10:17

House of Lords is the last chance saloon.

They will vote it through.

Can you imagine the uproar if they don't. After all they are an unelected house.

DorkusDelonghi · 05/02/2017 12:07

virtually collapsed" you say. How's that?

It will collapse even further when / if A50 is triggered!

And it is plain to see in London where the tourists have come in droves! Not a bad thing at all but there are more tourists here in Central London than I have ever seen. Won't be enough to recover the crashed out pound but at least people from abroad can enjoy the UK.

refusetobeasheep · 05/02/2017 12:40

Yes I think YABU as its toxic to hold onto such anger for so long. It is going to happen so far better to now focus on what you can change / enable.

angethomp190 · 05/02/2017 12:40

Not sure if the first link worked. Here it is again:

I don't think it's toxic to hold onto anger when the Government has had 7 months to do what looks like nothing. The White Paper was a complete disgrace. It's time they got of their backsides and started to produce a proper plan. There would be less anger if there were realistic options.

addictedtorunning · 05/02/2017 16:18

There are people on an Aldi thread moaning about the increase in food prices - I can't help but think - did you think this through when you voted?

TheElementsSong · 05/02/2017 16:20

did you think this through when you voted?

We don't know how those PP voted... do we?

fakenamefornow · 05/02/2017 16:29

We don't know how those PP voted... do we?

Well lets guess that 48% of them voted leave and those ones are getting exactly what they voted for and have no right at all to complain.
