I recon there must be loads of famous people on here! Holly Willoughby - totally on here. Everyone from Loose Women - here! Are you a famous? If you are then NC and then post and NC back - I'd love to know!

OP posts:

No and I am glad because I imagine I would hate it, it must be hard feeling watched all the time. I love Elvis and have read a bit about him and he said that he had to do things (in the army) twice as good as everyone else or he would be criticised.

Anyway, no is my answer but I wish I knew someone famous!

Tartyflette · 15/01/2017 02:39

Nope. But i racked my brains to try and remember if. I had ever had any connection, however tenuous, to a celeb and all I could come up with was that I used to see Jon Snow in his bicycle clips on an almost daily basis.
We worked in the same building. (Ex-journo)

rightknockered · 15/01/2017 02:43

I dated a famous person once, and met other famous people, musicians mostly in 90's indie bands. I don't know how it happened

Thiswilloutme · 15/01/2017 03:10

I'm not famous - but my exH (25yrs) left me for someone who is moderately well known - they had a few months of odd stories in the news about their new found romance All of which knocked a few years off our marriage, implied our dc were older than they were, and that the marriage was over when they met. Biscuit.

It was only after this that I found MN and discovered she was pretty universally loathed on here. I found my tribe Grin. Mind you, if I'd found MN earlier in the marriage I'd have probably LTB so she did me a favour AND got the joy of now being married to a Narcissistic arse Grin

MrsBlennerhassett · 15/01/2017 03:29

Maybe. I do sometimes feel like im a the star of a Trueman Show like tv series. I bet everyone is sat at home right now laughing at me sat in my bed in an old t shirt covered in tomato sauce and frowning at my computer screen. Id think that people have better things to do than watch this shite but i know Big Brother was really popular so you can never be sure can you.

MostIneptThatEverStepped · 15/01/2017 03:39

Oh This a couple of names for OW spring to mind. Whoever she is, I'm glad you found your people on MN! How horrible to read about your own marriage breakup in the media.

SoleBizzz · 15/01/2017 03:48

NO. Yes no yes

Mummyoflittledragon · 15/01/2017 03:53

Nope

I did go to Jamie Stuart's wedding reception (former bassist from the cult) with my nan when I was about 18. He lived a few doors down from my nan in a 2 bed terraced house at the time. Never got to meet the other members of The Cult as they'd already gone. But it was fun with the men all dressed in kilts. It was in a local hall. Very low key.

My tenous claim to fame is that I slept with someone who'd slept with a z-lister (or maybe a l/m/n-lister to be fair!) who used to be an a-list celeb (or at least high b! Grin) I was strangely impressed as she was from the band that made one of the first albums I bought and loved in my teens! (He only told me afterwards as I was quizzing him after finding out how many famous people he'd worked with.) Apparently they had sex in a cupboard. Shock Grin

Also am pretty sure Dave Gorman is on here. He referenced MN in his last series and then made a joke about preferring Nethuns to try to throw us off the scent...

(Have namechanged as have told this irl)

NamechangedForCupboardLove · 15/01/2017 04:04

I also wonder if any famous people have been mistaken for trolls due to being cagey about certain details when posting for advice...

Rixera · 15/01/2017 04:10

My dad is famed in his field.
I was the fuck buddy of a man who became famous fairly recently and is renowned for being very attractive, so that was quite amusing.
I myself am a nobody- but my blog was quite popular with a sect of teenage girls about 3 years ago.

londonrach · 15/01/2017 04:52

Dont get the famous thing. Why would you want to be famous? Im very happy being free and go any where without press and photographers taking pictures, hounding you.

GloriousGusset · 15/01/2017 04:55

Well not all famous people chase fame as an end in itself.

That's a recent thing. People want to be actors, musicians, politicians, whatever.

GloriousGusset · 15/01/2017 04:56

Fame is often a by product.

Obviously.

daisychain01 · 15/01/2017 05:09

I'm stinkingly rich and anonymous.

Oldsu · 15/01/2017 06:07

Graphista I had an encounter like that some entitled brat once said to me 'do you know who my father is ?' I replied 'sorry I have no idea have you tried asking your mother' - it didn't go down to well but it shut him up.

My SIL is the daughter of a Duke and had the title lady before she married my brother she is lovely really down to earth and great fun

ZuzuMyLittleGingersnap · 15/01/2017 06:09

I am Becky. And have good hair.

CanadianJohn · 15/01/2017 06:32

I'm nobody and don't know anyone. I did watch the Spartacus movie, though.

atheistmantis · 15/01/2017 07:16

I once had a hug from a then famous politician when I was a teenager.
Autographs are for sale on eBay.

maddiemookins16mum · 15/01/2017 07:40

I once had a telephone interview to be on CDWM (and was rejected).
I sat on Jimmy Youngs knee at Oxford Town Hall in 1970 (ish).
I had an interview to be the Nanny for the kids of a well known F1 driver (in the 80's). Didn't get that either!
I'm not famous.

RueDeDay · 15/01/2017 07:51

I was briefly famous in another country (sporting achievement). It was fucking horrible. Being mobbed gave me panic attacks, even with a police guard. Being watched wherever I went... No thanks. Left me with a total aversion to any kind of fame, I would rather be Ms Average any day.

HPFA · 15/01/2017 08:04

I was at college with Michael Gove. Used to be fun telling that to my teacher acquaintances who always looked as though I'd admitted to Satanism.

ChristmasZombie · 15/01/2017 08:04

My sister is quite famous in her field, and I'm 90% sure she's been on this thread to say so. She's met a lot of very famous people through her work.

redcarbluecar · 15/01/2017 08:14

I was Mollie Sugden's bridesmaid.

onemorecupofcoffeefortheroad · 15/01/2017 08:26

An former actor from Eastenders lives next door to my Dad - the actor did some shopping for him the other day as Dad was ill and couldn't get out.
