I recon there must be loads of famous people on here! Holly Willoughby - totally on here. Everyone from Loose Women - here! Are you a famous? If you are then NC and then post and NC back - I'd love to know!

OP posts:
YesThisIsMe · 15/01/2017 00:37

I have an IMDB page! It turns out they're really really thorough when it comes to quiz show contestants.

SNP MP Kirsty Blackman is on Mumsnet. But actually she's only really famous for that thing she did on Mumsnet (unless you're from Aberdeen).

HeartsTrumpDiamonds · 15/01/2017 00:37

I'm Brooke Shields.

GreenAndWinter · 15/01/2017 00:37

Today it starts, I'm bright enough but I have asd and have also been drinking wine. Shouldn't have posted.

BadKnee · 15/01/2017 00:38

Actually, just thinking, on the "starstruck" note; - I wonder if when I have received a "Well said BadKnee" - it has ever been from a famous person!!!

What if The Duchess of Cambridge or Gwynnie P or Victoria Beckham or JK Rowling is agreeing with me??!!

What if when I say "I fancy George Clooney" - Amal, (aka user12345), posts "Yes - me too"!?

todayitstarts · 15/01/2017 00:42

Sorry Green. I shouldn't have either. Apologies. I don't know what I was thinking

NotTheOriginalGreen · 15/01/2017 00:43

Green There was nothing wrong with what you posted. I found it quite amusing! todayitstarts was just bloody nasty. Ignore. Flowers

CantChoose · 15/01/2017 00:43

I've met several famous people by chance and also through FILs work (he is niche famous...) but being fairly faceblind and also uncultured I rarely know who any of them are. Some have been lovely, others rude. Much the same as anyone else really!

BlueberryGateaux · 15/01/2017 00:44

Green its OK of course you should have posted. I'd hate to be famous too, I love my anonymity.

DailyMaui · 15/01/2017 00:45

Ooh nearly forgot. I had a fairly long relationship with a mediumly famous actor and a short but very passionate fling with someone who is extremely famous. He wasn't particularly famous back then but he became a household name and a huge sex symbol about ten years ago. If I ever tell people they are a bit 🙄as I'm not aging nearly as well as he is.

MistressMerryWeather · 15/01/2017 00:45

I got into an argument with Uri Geller on a radio phone in once.

I was pissed as a fart and completely winding him up.

Does that count?

Kez171271 · 15/01/2017 00:49

I was on match of the day tonight 😆
Clearly can be seen in the crowd at the leicester v chelsea game.
Red coat 😆
No autographs please 😂

minisausage · 15/01/2017 00:55

Im semi Famous i suppose,l know Gary barlow through work

Graphista · 15/01/2017 00:55

I used to be in a job and part of the country that brought me into contact with many celebs of lots of different backgrounds. Definitely agree the properly world famous were lovely unassuming people and the lesser well known were often arses! Including one who actually used the line 'don't you know who I am?' To which my colleague replied 'erm no!' Grin (he genuinely didn't)

spankhurst · 15/01/2017 00:56

I'm very famous as I was once in the Newsnight audience (1990) and was on camera for 0.2 seconds. Copies of my autobiography, In the Eye of the Storm, are available soon.

GreenAndWinter · 15/01/2017 00:57

Thanks folks Smile
In the spirit of the thread (I hope), I was once on the audience of University Challenge. Also, many years ago, I recorded a song at the MTV studies in London, with a not particularly famous band, and my BIL was completely freaked a couple of weeks later to see me appear on the screens above the running machine he was using at the local gym.

HobbitTankard · 15/01/2017 00:58

I talked to Bobby Charlton once..It was enough excitement for me!

BawbagBiggins · 15/01/2017 00:58

I might be Susan Boyle!
I'm no longer welcome at Sandringham House and Robson Green owes me a tenner...does that count?!

FeralBeryl · 15/01/2017 01:01

Green I'm now imagining your BIL doing a comedy backwards fall off his treadmill whilst gaping at the screen Grin

muminthecity · 15/01/2017 01:03

I'm very famous - I was on the 6 o'clock news once shaking hands with the queen at Buckingham palace.

(I was 3 years old and don't really remember it Grin)

JoyfulAndTriumphant · 15/01/2017 01:04

Alan Sugar used to post on Digital Spy. His username, most imaginatively, was "Alan sugar". I believe it was him though..

Dunno if he's still there. I stopped using it years ago.

DiggoryDiggoryDelvet · 15/01/2017 01:07

I am a reasonably successful playwright/screenwriter who has a certain degree of fame within the theatre world, but certainly no one outside the theatre world or who isn't a keen theatregoer would have ever heard of me. It's cool. I get to go to awards ceremonies and premieres and fancy celeb parties, know loads of famous actors, and occasionally do press interviews and photoshoots (mainly for newspaper arts supplements) but I've been approached for an autograph exactly once in my life and will certainly never have to deal with fans, paps, tabloids, or any invasion of privacy.

At least not my own fans. I have been mildly cyber-stalked by fans of actors I've worked with which is freaky.

When at celeb parties, is there some code of conduct, an unwritten thing where "what goes on at the celeb party, stays at the celeb party"? Or is it more overt than that - people (host??) ask you not to say anything to the papers?
Unwritten. I've never experienced or heard of anyone saying it explicitly. Maybe if you go to parties at the Beckhams' or Justin Bieber's house it's different. But it just is one of those things people would never do. God knows I've seen enough drug use and sex shit at industry parties and I do gossip about it with my friends. The industry is super gossipy. But you'd get blacklisted and never work nor be invited anywhere again if you went to the press. Anyway everyone hates the press.

LoupGarou · 15/01/2017 01:08

I've met Justin Trudeau, does that count? Grin I have met quite a few world leaders, including Vladimir Putin (he visited an ex's workplace). Thinks I must be made of star attracting material me Grin.

GloriousGusset · 15/01/2017 01:09

'I agree with Worra when she says So someone works in front of a camera for a living - why does that then make so many people giddy and overly interested in them?'

No offence but how many times on Mumsnet do you see 'I agree with Worra'? It's the same 'celeb' worship albeit on a much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, smaller scale.

Much, much.

HobbitTankard · 15/01/2017 01:10

How was Justin?

GloriousGusset · 15/01/2017 01:11

'I have met quite a few world leaders, including Vladimir Putin'

Wasn't there a stapler to hand you could have bludgeoned him with? Or at least an icy stare?!
