I recon there must be loads of famous people on here! Holly Willoughby - totally on here. Everyone from Loose Women - here! Are you a famous? If you are then NC and then post and NC back - I'd love to know!

I'm slightly famous. I mean, you almost certainly won't have heard of me unless you're in my field, but I do have a Wikipedia page.

I'm not the sort of famous where I go to lots of celeb parties though. Although I did get to go to a party with Jenny Agutter and Ian Hislop at it last year. (Didn't speak to Ian Hislop, but Jenny Agutter was properly lovely.)

shrunkenhead · 15/01/2017 00:21

Just a little bit....
Teeth it's kind of the unwritten rule that people at parties/events know to be discreet and you soon learn sho you can/can't trust. IME people tend to keep the conversation pretty superficial and work-related which reduces the risk of anything controversial being uttered.

Stonewash, you are not Archimedes or you'd be wise enough to know that electrical gadgets are not safe to be used in the bath.

Sparklingbrook · 15/01/2017 00:22

There are very few slebs that I am impressed by.

Only on here. My stage name is at least 50% different.

mum2Bomg · 15/01/2017 00:27

BadKnee - we knew what you meant 😘

Brian - I knew it!

WorraLiberty - I might start a new thread about how awesome you are. Your advice is always well thought out and delivered compassionately. I hope I meet you in real life.

IamNotDarling · 15/01/2017 00:27

TheGirlWithAPrince are you Mrs RW?

PhilODox · 15/01/2017 00:28

BrianCox well, not only are you famous, you're two famous people. Well played.

I may or may not be Theresa May.

Salmotrutta · 15/01/2017 00:28

I'm not famous.

But I have seen some famous people on occasion.

BadKnee · 15/01/2017 00:29

I am not interested in slebs as such. I know one or two to speak to and they are nothing much, (minor slebs though). I would want to meet someone famous for actually doing something, someone who could tell me stories of real achievement.

There are one or two actors that I would dearly love to meet though.

NovemberInDailyFailLand · 15/01/2017 00:30

I heard Vladimir Putin is on here nods sagely

mum2Bomg · 15/01/2017 00:31

I'm not implying they're goddesses worth of worshiping, or that they're different from the rest of us, just that they might be on here and not making it obvious.......

This is so funny! The genuinely famous people who value the anonymity of mumsnet are hardly going to out themselves on this thread, even after name changing. Hackers could surely figure out name changes if they put their minds to it.

Years ago, I went out with a local radio dj who was terribly star struck and interviewed a lot of seriously famous people. He often took me along for the ride. Having grown up without a TV, I had never heard of half of them. I was always happy to find them just as ordinary and lovely as the rest of humanity. In the car on the way back, he would be amazed that I'd had a normal conversation with them without gibbering, and then I would Google and realise I'd just met a global superstar and not been fazed because I didn't even realise.

I'd hate to be famous, and most of the famous people I met during that time seemed to take the whole thing with a large pinch of salt.

sobeyondthehills · 15/01/2017 00:32

My friend has a few family and friends that are famous. A few well known.

maras2 · 15/01/2017 00:33

God bless you piglet

orgulous · 15/01/2017 00:33

I've just done a search and there are 14 Mumsnet threads that mention me. Blinks.

Oblomov16 · 15/01/2017 00:33

What a great, funny thread.

I am beyond bland. But I was on the front page on our local newspaper once. Does that count?

mum2Bomg · 15/01/2017 00:33

Green - I agree and I know a few famous people...just wondered if they are on here and if it helps being anonymous and having a sounding board...

Phil

I'm just awesome. Not many can achieve such levels of awesomeness.

DailyMaui · 15/01/2017 00:35

I have a very famous BIL. And I was regularly on tv back in the nineties I work with famous people all the time. They are a mixed bunch. Most lovely. The odd one a total fucking nightmare. I find that the more famous and genuinely A list they are, the nicer they are. Newly famous reality stars can be the absolute pits.

Bunnyfuller · 15/01/2017 00:36

Jeez...one mention of Putin and we're all over with the hacker stuff again.....give the guy a break....
