I recon there must be loads of famous people on here! Holly Willoughby - totally on here. Everyone from Loose Women - here! Are you a famous? If you are then NC and then post and NC back - I'd love to know!

OP posts:
Lalalalalaa · 15/01/2017 09:29

I'm not famous but I'm regularly in the papers! Does that count? I also get slagged off on social media by people who disagree with what I say, which I enjoy immensely 🙄

I used to want to be famous. Now I think it would be awful!

joystir59 · 15/01/2017 09:30

my friend's friend went out with George Osbourne when he was a student

joystir59 · 15/01/2017 09:31

And the same friend met Ant and Dec a few times at parties in Camden

Bluntness100 · 15/01/2017 09:33

lol at this thread.

I had a brief relationship with a very famous footballer, he works as a well known commentator now , when I was about 17. He is quite a bit older, and it upset my father no end who assumed he just wanted to have sex with me. 😂

I've also met and spent time with nearly all the big formula one drivers, but that's due to my field of work.

SawdustInMyHair · 15/01/2017 09:33

When I was little my dad would get recognised all the time when we were out, even on holiday abroad once! We even had to watch what he bought in the supermarket in case it became a rumour.
Everyone at school was amazed when they found out "that's your dad?!"

He was the local dentist Grin

TheMagicFarawaySleep · 15/01/2017 09:35

Sparklingbrook - I always wonder that too.

I've come to the conclusion that maybe it's to avoid giving those who think they might be MN Royalty the satisfaction of being named as such.

Makes me laugh, as if anyone would be tragic enough to want to be anonymously famous on a relatively tiny portion of the anonymous internet.

Sparklingbrook · 15/01/2017 09:39

Well it's always said with such bitterness making me believe the poster going on about it would like to be MN royalty. Grin I do wonder if the world would end if any of these mysterious royalty were named though.

Qwertie · 15/01/2017 09:39

I had a story on me in my local paper & both local news programmes (when I was 12) -I try to keep it real, I'm still qwertie from the block.

I was also in a band & we were in the NME & played on John Peel & Steve Lamacq's shows. I left when we were in talks with a big record label, because ds1 was 10 months & I couldn't face taking him on tour or leaving him at home.-Never regretted that decision.

joystir59 · 15/01/2017 09:41

Bluntness100 Gary Lineker?

L1lley · 15/01/2017 09:45

I'm in "Summer Heights High" and every year I get Years 7 kids saying hey sir we saw you on the tv last night.

TheMagicFarawaySleep · 15/01/2017 09:46

Do you think? Not sure about bitterness, surely no one cares that much Grin

I think it's perhaps double standards people are bothered about. Still, no MN Royalty left now, they've all gone, so just left with us Plebs now Grin

Sparklingbrook · 15/01/2017 09:49

Some people seem to care very much indeed weirdly Magic. Grin

But anyway it's all a bit of a derail. Back to the properly famous people....

TheMagicFarawaySleep · 15/01/2017 09:56

I was once approached for sex by someone v. Famous if that counts? Laughed and left when Non disclosure wotsits were mentioned. Not exactly a turn on......

dressinggownsandkidsintowns · 15/01/2017 09:56

I'm famous in my own mind Grindoes that count ? I'd hate to be actually famous, I watch celebrity's having meltdowns and dh laughs because I want them to come and stay for a week while we talk things through without the yes men. I do have form for taking in waifs and strays human and animal though Grin

Strongmummy · 15/01/2017 10:18

L1lley if it really is you then we've met a number of times.....

SmellyFartado · 15/01/2017 10:21

I have a few famous friends. They are wonderful & very much down to earth. Is odd when out with one in particular the amount of people that just stop and stare at them.. Made me feel very much like being in a goldfish bowl being there also but they are used to it. I wouldn't like it personally. Also, you see some people get very flicky haired/starstruck at them and others that get a bit more .. not aggressive but more ' who do they think they are' when they are just trying to have a quiet drink in a bar.

The rudeness of people that come up to them also - middle of meals, middle of conversations - never an excuse me, always just straight in with requests for pics. Little wonder celebrities are seen as rude, I'd be far less charming with my response than my friends are!

The new breed of reality 'stars' are something else entirely.

iloveeverykindofcat · 15/01/2017 10:30

I'm well known in my field.

It's a really small field though Grin

AwaywiththePixies27 · 15/01/2017 10:33

I've been on telly once many centuries moons ago. Does that count? Grin

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 15/01/2017 10:40

I've been in the NME. That's all.

NotStoppedAllDay · 15/01/2017 10:46

DD has a famous (reality tv) friend.... she gets dragged to all the VIP events etc.... she complains nights out are no longer 'normal' with the his girl getting all the attention

Natsku · 15/01/2017 10:46

Last night I dreamt I was on the front page of the Daily Mail - does that count? Grin
Have been in it recently but nowhere near the front page. Did a damn good Sad Face though.

I'm also going to be in a documentary next month and was going to be on GMB tomorrow but it was postponed. Would rather not do those things as I am incredibly awkward on camera but doing it for a good reason.

MollyHopps · 15/01/2017 11:09

Not famous as such, but quite well known.

HiggeldyPiggeldy · 15/01/2017 11:14

I'm a legend in my own mind, does that count?

To be famous I think you have to be very strong, with every aspect of your life under scrutiny, paps trying to get unflattering pictures of you or stories about you, just horrible. I wouldn't mind the houses, holidays and money though!!

happypoobum · 15/01/2017 11:16

I used to be famous when I lived in another country (just famous there IYSWIM) and it was really odd how most people would be nice but every now and then someone would be absolutely hateful to you for no reason.

It got to the point where I would never go to the loos alone if in a club etc just in case someone started on me. They would say things like "Look at her skin, she's covered in spots" when I had just a normal breakout or "She must be anorexic, look at her" when I was a size 10.

I also dated a world famous British Rock Star, and that was really bizarre. Girls would literally push me out of the way to be near him Sad

Now I am just happypoobum from the village and glad of it!

WilburIsSomePig · 15/01/2017 11:17

Nope, but I used to be married to someone very famous about 25 years ago. My past life - Grin. No one I know now knows except my oldest, closest friends and they know I don't want it broadcast, simply because I can't be arsed with all the faux interest and questions.

My ex and are still in contact and he's still 'in the biz' doing OK on reunion tours etc. He sends the kids (mine and DH's, not his) things from when he's anywhere interesting.
