AIBU to feel a little annoyed this woman googled my husband?

My husband is handsome. I often look at him and wonder what he's doing with a plain Jane like me 🙄 Our whole relationship I've had to deal with other women openly flirting with him.
He never flirts back, he's incredibly awkward around people (men included tbh) he'd much rather be in his tractor or with his herd of cattle 😆 We have a very loving relationship and I trust him 100%
Anyway, we've been happily married 12yrs and have a lovely life with 2 primary aged children. He is very rarely in the playground, I'm a sahm so do all the school stuff. A few of my mummy friends have commented that I have a very handsome husband but I laugh it off and tell them they wouldn't put up with his obsession with all things farming and never being able to go on nice holidays because he won't leave his animals etc.
However, the other day a school mum friend stopped me in the playground and told me she had seen my husband in his tractor and they had waved at him. Then, she said something very odd. Whilst giggling she said she had gone home and googled him then proceeded to tell me what articles he's been in and she found a picture of him in the local paper from 2006. I honestly didn't know what to say. Why the hell is she googling my husband?? Is this normal? I'm guessing it might be but why tell me?
I now feel a bit sick about it. I told dh and he said she was a weirdo!
AIBU to feel a little uneasy? Thinking of keeping my distance with her 😕

Pics or it didn't happen.

I started to fancy ur husband too op in your initial description(love the thought of a farmer rolloping around the fields in his tractors - oo-arr!)

But then u went and threw cold water on it by saying he looks like Steve jones.
Cannot abide that knob.

centreyourself · 11/01/2017 21:30

Hmm your DH does sound lovely OP. But I was such a trusting person I allowed my exh's charming secretary to come round for a relaxation treatment because she was having fictitious Hmm headaches.

Of course I later realised she was doing as much research as possible before successfully pulling him. She did me a huge favour of course and no one can end a successful marriage but I still felt stupid that I'd been so trusting.

I wouldn't trust her. I think she does have a crush on him as pp said; who knows whether she will make a nuisance of herself? Of course googling is common but she might have told you to see how you reacted. Apparently callous secretary lady was "seeing how much of a fight" I would put up. I'd do what dishservedcold said.

Weyhay! Hold your head up, lady! How lucky are you?? Ignore her - well done! Trying not be envious...but, shit, it's hard. Seriously, good for you. All the very best to the both of you. Lucky pair! Enjoy!

badtasteflump · 11/01/2017 21:38

Hm had never heard of Steve Jones but after googling I want a linky to the article...

LastGirlOnTheLeft · 11/01/2017 21:42

I'm surrounded with farmers (half my family and all my neighbours) and I can't believe people desire your husband. If they do, they must be townsfolk.

My DH though is also extremely gorgeous - but he has a suit and tie job and I also feel that other women fancy him!! I don't mind....I think they have exceptional taste! 😀Wink

You should have said, with a merry little laugh: 'Gracious, that was a while back wasn't it!! Keep away from us you loon..Oh look, there's ', and walked off and left her there :-D

Dontaskmegoogleit · 11/01/2017 21:52

It wasn't me. ...promise Smile

HelsBels5000 · 11/01/2017 22:13

Lets see the handsome husbands then....... Grin

38cody · 11/01/2017 22:15

What a lovely problem - mines pig ugly.

FrostyPopThePenguinLord · 11/01/2017 22:16

My partner has more than a passing resemblance to the main character in Poldark....we have been followed round our local supermarket by groups of giggling ladies (he is totally oblivious and thinks it's hilarious when I point it out) also had more than a few people trying to take 'subtle' selfies with him in them when we are out for dinner. I know this because I overheard them in the ladies room discussing it!! It's flattering on one hand that she finds your hubby attractive enough to warrant extra interest.....what's weird is that she told you....I only got a bit grumpy when they started discussing what on earth 'Aiden Turner' was doing out with me!! Charming

MontePulciana · 11/01/2017 22:18

Linkedin is the worst. There's a "see who has looked at your profile" function on there. I had to delete myself as I'd looked at two of my DH colleagues (one looks like Barbie). She'd then gone and looked at mine. Mortifying.

MagicMarkers · 11/01/2017 22:20

I google people I know. The information is on the internet. It's not like you're going through their bins.

TitaniasCloset · 11/01/2017 22:20

I'm single, this thread has really put me off finding a gorgeous man in future, too many odd ladies out there.

38cody · 11/01/2017 22:24

I once told my neighbour that a friend who was coming to stay had a really sexy husband - I introduced them over the garden fence and thick neighbour actually said 'Oh, you're the one with the handsome husband..." cringe cringe fucking cringe.

Earlgreywithmilk · 11/01/2017 22:24

mines pig ugly Grin

Earlgreywithmilk · 11/01/2017 22:25

frostypop - hubby looks like poldark? Now that's more like it you lucky, lucky cow

carabos · 11/01/2017 22:33

DH isn't handsome but he does do a job where occasionally a client will develop an inappropriate attachment and on three or four occasions has gone a step too far, by which I mean it starts to spill over into my world - a couple of times it's been me they have stalked. When this happens we just cut them off dead. It gets tedious tbh and I'm always embarrassed that grown women make arses of themselves like that.

At first I was a bit Shock and Hmm. Now that we're old I tend to shrug it off and wonder when it will ever end. Women, animals and a sympathetic bloke is a recipe for giddiness IME.

layercake9 · 11/01/2017 22:45

Op stay away from that woman. Think she fancies your dh and is showing far too much interest in him - to have gone home and made the effort to search info about him online. Why is she so keen? That's so creepy.

80schild · 11/01/2017 22:46

I feel I have not appreciated the benefits of being married to a normal / just above average person. It actually sounds really irritating having to put up with the consequences.

Mistletoekids · 11/01/2017 22:47

i think googling people is farily normal behaviour nowadays

sounds like she was probably trying to pay you a compliment and it came out all wrong

should have kept it to herself really!!

lucky you for having a handsome hubby :-)

pregnantat50 · 11/01/2017 22:48

this is why I date ugly men, the uglier the better
