even though I'm not the OP?

We can't leave it there!

OP posts:
dowhatnow · 14/01/2017 10:21

No confrontation might be the best outcome for you bird, but it's such a selfish attitude. Me, me, me - anyone would think you didn't have hundreds thousands of mums-netters hanging on waiting for any snippet of an update. What an entitled attitude Grin

GabsAlot · 14/01/2017 12:44

oh well just leave it then nothing to talk about i guess and im sure hes taken the hint now

i will always wonder who caroline was though....

HappyFlappy · 14/01/2017 15:58

What an entitled attitude

Not just any entitled attitude - MumsNet entitled attitude . . .

birdladyfromhomealone · 14/01/2017 16:18

I finally have an update to put Nicholarse and his parking shenanigans to bed :)
So he came round this afternoon finally.
He stood sideways to me so we couldnt make eye contact.
He started off the conversation yet again as "My carer said you asked me to come round?"
So I was polite but direct and told him he had absolute no right to use our driveway for his cars, carers car or Caroline's cars.
I showed him the damage to the copping stone that lifts off the wall pillar and has the corner missing.
We had the drive wall widened when we bought the house to enable us to get two cars on the drive by a local builder.
He offered to pay for its repair!!!!!
Does that mean he knows who hit it?
I then said who's is this other car you have given permission to leave here overnight.
"that's Carolyns car, she works part time in my office and parks here for four hours only"
I thought he said it was Caroline's on Tuesday, and she doesnt even live on my street!!!
Not an ounce of remorse just indignation as to why I would possibly be unhappy about it???
He even said "I have been looking after your house for you when your not here"
Then gets out his mobile phone and shows me pictures of my kitchen roof where a tile has come loose, as if we couldnt see it from our own windows.
So I started to get a bit stroppy as he just wasnt getting it at all and told him he would under no circumstances EVER park on my drive again,
your carer can park on the single yellow line or you can pay for permit.
He started stuttering and said
" Oh well yes I can possibly look into that."
But I did do him a great disservice because talking to him close up in the light he would appear to be late 50's early 60's and is still working full time.
I dont know what is wrong with his wife to have carers morning lunch and evening.
I have spoken to her to say hello to over the years and she is perfectly coherent and I saw her walking unaided to the car on Thursday.
I also told him we would be putting up a gate which we are now going to do.
Thank you to the poster up thread who recommended the CCTV that sends a picture to your phone, we will look into that.
For now the electric fence stays up.
Thank you all for your support.
My husband thinks I should have let it get to me but it did!

MrsHathaway · 14/01/2017 16:31

Let's hope that's the end of it. He can't possibly claim misunderstanding now.

Memoires · 14/01/2017 16:35

Yes, who the hell is Caroline???

der der deeerrrrrrrrr......

SauvignonBlanche · 14/01/2017 16:37

Well done birdlady, glad you got to speak to him, rather than your DH.

Can't believe Cuntaline isn't even a neighbour. Shock

EweAreHere · 14/01/2017 16:44

So your house has been damaged, he clearly knows it was someone he 'let' park there, and he didn't say anything (immediately offered to pay for the damage) until you called him on it?!?

Tell him that yes, you would like him to pay for the damage seeing as how it was his fault he was having people park their cars there!

DanglyEarOrnaments · 14/01/2017 16:57

My mum always said she nearly called me Caroline but plumped for Dangly instead.

I'm very glad, especially now that Caroline is the ultimate MN nemesis Grin

MyCatsHateMLMtoo · 14/01/2017 17:29

Oh I don't know about that, Dangly. I still think that Wendy is the ultimate MN nemesis Wink.

Birdy your electric fence reminds me of this youtube video I watched last week. I guarantee you will be giggling watching it.

Bettercallsaul1 · 14/01/2017 17:51

My name is Wendy Caroline. not really

RTKangaMummy · 14/01/2017 17:54

Thank you for the update SmileSmileSmile

My goodness how can someone be so up themselves to basically think they can use someone else's driveway for their employee 4 hours a day!!!!!!!! Without even asking ???? AngryAngryAngry

That to me is worst than the carer who at least is working in the house

Do you think he charged Caroline parking each day? As in cheaper than the PAG car park ShockShockShock

I would also wonder how he got your mobile number HmmHmmHmm

BTW loved the post about parking in husband space in snow was in fact you reversing GrinGrinGrin

Also the electric fence video GrinGrinGrin

Ohdearducks · 14/01/2017 18:38

If love to know how Cuntolyn got home the other night, didn't she leave her car there all night and well in the next day? she must have come out of work early to move it when Bird went to the GP's?

Tapandgo · 14/01/2017 18:45

Bird - now that is an outcome

KitKat1985 · 14/01/2017 18:48

Wow, Nicolarse really is a cheeky bugger ain't he? Glad it's all sorted now OP. x

Optimist1 · 14/01/2017 18:51

Well Caro's four hour shift assisting Nicholarse on Tuesday certainly extended into time and a half, didn't it? I'd love to have been a fly on the wall when they realised that you'd blocked her in! Glad you showed him you're not a neighbour to be messed with, bird.

Ohdearducks · 14/01/2017 18:55

Yes I bet Nicholarse was straight on the phone to her when he saw Bird go out so she could come and get her car! Or his wife on to Nick if he was at work too that day.

dowhatnow · 14/01/2017 19:14

Ok so you now need to google the employees at Nicolarses company so you can get a description of what Caroline looks like. You know her name is Carolyn. We need details. WE NEED DETAILS

Where was DH during this conversation. It sounds as if he left it all to you.

hollyisalovelyname · 14/01/2017 19:20

Well done Bird Lady.
I'm glad it's a Carolyn and not a Caroline who is the surreptitious parker.
I love the name and used it for one of dds.

MissBeehiving · 14/01/2017 20:06

Well done bird 🙂 What a total cockwomble he is🙄

leapyearbaby · 14/01/2017 20:35

My word that's an update and a half. He is gob smacking.

Thank you bird. It's been epic and emotional. I'm so pleased Carolyn has been revealed. I hate loose ends

SpartaCarcass · 14/01/2017 20:49

Great result!! Well done for giving it to him loud and clear.

Might be worth putting it in writing too - "As discussed on xxx This is to clarify you, your family and employees have no right or permission to park on my drive. ... blah blah" and maybe check if you could threaten to sue for trespass if they did it again.
Maybe do that after he's paid for the repair - cheeky fecker!

GabsAlot · 14/01/2017 20:50

wow thanks for coming back birdy

his employee? what a weird entitled man-he must have it the wall himself or saw who did it to offer to pay

what an arsehole though and u dontneed someone to look after your house whatever that means

SpartaCarcass · 14/01/2017 20:54

Oh and I think this is the camera my friend uses
ebay clever dog wifi security camera

WallToWallDrugs · 14/01/2017 20:59

Wow, he has the cheek of ten arses!!! When you get the gate up, send him a postcard of your driveway with "Wish you were here?" on it. The cheeky fecker.
