Personally I'd have used barbed wire instead of electric fence tape.

So I said I'm sorry I cant talk I'm driving (had pulled over but didnt really want to have this convo on the phone)

Good luck tomorrow. I hope dh is not going to be there, as I bet anything you like that you will be sidelined, Nicholarse will barely say a word to you directly, and will mansplain away. At least if your dh is not there, then Nicholarse will have to talk to you.
