even though I'm not the OP?

We can't leave it there!

You have nothing to feel bad about OP - who wouldn't be stroppy with such liberties being taken?!

alltheothernamesareinuse · 12/01/2017 10:26

Vilified birdy?
Why?
I must have missed that bit of the thread.

Tapandgo · 12/01/2017 10:26

birdy - I think you have shown amazing restraint!

user892 · 12/01/2017 10:28

Manumission said that Birdlady was screaming in the carer's face. She wasn't.

user892 · 12/01/2017 10:37

In fact Manumission has been pretty sarcastically horrible about Birdlady throughout.

alltheothernamesareinuse · 12/01/2017 10:39

Oops, missed (or forgot) that bit, but seem to remember manu writing most of the thread a few posts.

birdladyfromhomealone · 12/01/2017 10:58

Yes she has! but not her alone.
It was said I was being horrible that my poor neighbours are in their 70's (they are late 60's I have been told since!!)
How would I feel to be old and I might need a carer one day.
Well if I do I wont be parking my carers car on my neighbours drive behind their back ,I would use my blue badge.
Isnt that what a blue badge is for?

user892 · 12/01/2017 11:11

Did it feel a bit weird to have Mumsnetters reveal themselves to live nearby? :)

Tapandgo · 12/01/2017 11:12

Well - there is as much obligation on those in their 60's and 70's to behave with respect for boundaries as there is on those in their 20's and 30's. Careers are not 999 ambulances - they are planned and regular visitors who need to make regular and responsible arrangements - like using their blue badge. I'm sure we'd all help find solutions for neighbours in crisis - but would lose our rag if people were helping themselves as if by right.
I wonder how Nicolarse would react if Birdy got all her mates to park in his drive daily?

SalemSaberhagen · 12/01/2017 11:16

They have been doing it for three years and you've never noticed? You've not had time off work, a half day, holidays?

alltheothernamesareinuse · 12/01/2017 11:49

The fact you didn't notice probably means they knew they were taking the piss.

Birdlady - If you are bothered did you know you can buy tiny security cameras in B&M for about £20 that are motion sensor triggered. Connected to house wifi. You could point it out of your front window and it sends the photos direct to your phone/PC via an app. Would mean for a relatively cheap price you could keep an eye on your drive for a bit while not there.

Due lurking to say thank you for coming back birdlady, I would have been freaked by mners on my street too. Please keep us updated on Caroline and anything else from Nicolarse. Took over my life far too much this week, including nearly 2000 posts about a colleague using all the fridge space that I followed the link to from here!
And anyone who feels it's ok to have a go at you on here, I can't imagine would be sweetness and light in RL if this happened to them.

I want to know what Nicolarse has said after you chucked the carer and her car off your drive.

What nerve!

And I'm sure Caroline can't hide her car forever! Ask Nicolarse where she lives.

smartiecake · 12/01/2017 15:23

Bird lady- please tell me you have chained off your drive now?

hollyisalovelyname · 12/01/2017 16:09

Birdlady you have nothing to be ashamed about.
But Nicholas and Caroline do.
Really chancing their arms.
I'd be flipping ripping!!!
I often offer our driveway to relatives and friends as we are near a place they might have to visit and it can expensive to park there.

TrickyD · 12/01/2017 16:15

You can buy tiny security cameras in B&M for about £20

You could also set it up to see who's stalking your house now

Sounds as if Caroline could do with one of these grin

TrickyD · 12/01/2017 16:16

Bracket fail.

chocolateworshipper · 12/01/2017 16:27

and there were some moaning about the "drip feed"

Well, personally I like a bit of suspense (cos my real life is so dull), and no one ever forces you to stick with a thread!

OP posts:
birdladyfromhomealone · 12/01/2017 17:27

The drip feed was me loading up the pictures :)

birdladyfromhomealone · 12/01/2017 17:40

Only a small update.
We have taped up the drive with some electric fence tape, Wish I could electrify it lol.
Whilst doing so we noticed the copping stone on top of our wall pillar is loose and the corner has been chipped off like someone has hit it.
I hope they damaged their car :)
I have been in and out today and no carer there at all.
I heard the heartbeat theme tune from the TV at lunch time so someone was home.
My DH said yesterday morning a lady drove into the driveway noticed the tape and reversed and drove off.
Once again I have walked the dogs in the absolute pouring rain and there is no sign of Caroline's car.
I am beginning to think she doesn't even live on this road. I have a suspicion that she is a friend of Nicholarse and used our drive to go shopping?

Tapandgo · 12/01/2017 17:49

Yes - I think she is a pal of Nicholarses - it's all that makes sense
