Lyrically, musically or any other reason.

I can't stand Spandau Ballet's "True" - there I've said it. I'm out and proud.

"Why do I find it so hard to write the next line?" - perhaps because it's a fucking shite song Tony and it makes no sense at all!

Money for Nothing - Dire Straits is another for me. I like it for about 2 minutes and then I realise there's another SIX MINUTES left!

Same goes for "I'd Do Anything For Love (But I Won't Do That)" by Meat Loaf, which is TWELVE SODDING MINUTES.

Christ, I've been to quicker funerals than that!

I also loathe "American Pie" because when I did student radio in the late 80s it was the record we used to play if we needed a toilet break. So now every time I hear it I associate it with having a wee!

Hotline bling -Drake
Anything by Jason Derulo
I don't listen to pop stations but dh does and I ryn screaming when these come on.

GeillisTheWitch · 01/01/2017 19:29

It must have been love by Roxette. Can't bear her wailing. I once heard it described as the vocal equivalent of playing the piano with boxing gloves on.

downwardfacingdog · 01/01/2017 19:34

Anything by Aerosmith esp "I don't wanna miss a thing" Vom.

tinymeteor · 01/01/2017 19:47

Lady In Red. Dance (darnce) does not rhyme with bloody romance, you knob DeBurgh.

Also Don't Stop Me Now by Queen, which is the musical equivalent of a stampede of dead-eyed redcoats coming to round us up for organised fun. Frigging joyless.

I won't hear a word against the 'Loaf though. I won't do that.

dawnmist · 01/01/2017 19:49

Has anyone mentioned Phil Collins?

bertsdinner · 01/01/2017 19:54

Also hate a song from about 2000/2001 that went " mr lonely, mr lonely, got nobody to love", and sounded like it had Orville singing in it.
Another that went "really really like it,is it is it wicked" (Shaggy?), same era.
A recent one I hate, no idea who sings it, goes " it was a crush", rest is indecipherable, really nasal voice. I hear it everywhere and it drives me mad.

Toadinthehole · 01/01/2017 20:19

Imagine by John Lennon. A frightful dirge with lyrics that put me in mind of Pol Pot, Mao, and other genocidal luminaries of the 20th century.

Lennon: "A silly sod ... who never left my house except horizontally" (Keith Richards)

Toadinthehole · 01/01/2017 20:21

And My Way by Frank Sinatra. Apparently it is now played at one in every seven UK funerals.

I bet they didn't either.

LunaMay · 01/01/2017 20:35

Save a prayer by Duran Duran
That newish one Starving, she grates and its shit. And the video just doesn't work with the song. She should stick to acting.
Umm anything by Zara larsson but especially the Ain't my fault one.

PaulaPennyfeather · 01/01/2017 22:37

I can't believe that no one's pointed and laughed at 'The Final Countdown ' yet (or maybe they have and I've missed it, in which case I apologise).

AAAAAARRRRGGGGHHHHHH MY EARS MY EARS

alltoomuchrightnow · 01/01/2017 23:19

'We don't need no education' :

www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/law-and-order/8639930/Pink-Floyd-guitarists-son-Charlie-Gilmour-jailed-for-drug-fuelled-rampage.html

Yes, we clearly do need to improve education.

Niaus267 · 02/01/2017 01:30

alltoomuchrightnow you've given me the rage. I was about to go to sleep and now I have that monstrosity in my head!!

I also give you "Teardrops" by Womack & Womack. Aaaaaaaaaaaaagghhhhhhhh!!!!!

Stingray2008 · 02/01/2017 08:17

I dont like ABBA at all their music just grates on me.

Also rythem is a dancer especially the line "im serious as cancer when i say rythem is a dancer" wtf.

Oh and anything by little mix but im not sure they even like their own music as they always look so miserable whenever dd watches them being interviewed.

Up up and away in my beautiful balloon gives me The Rage. HATE IT.

MrsMattBomer · 02/01/2017 10:06

Years of this ruining Wednesday nights.

I fucking hated Minder and yet it was one of the most popular programmes (mainly because there was nothing else on!)

Tropezienne · 02/01/2017 10:13

Tropezienne · 02/01/2017 10:13

Or spell properly, so it seems

TheDayIBroke · 02/01/2017 10:49

Anything by:
Sinead O'Connor,
Bjork,
Daniel Beddingfield,
Beyonce,
Bieber,
Madonna,
Oasis,
Amy Winehouse,
Wet Wet Wet

Hate hip hop, (c)rap, death metal - just, no. No!

Angels by Robbie Williams. Imagine by John Lennon. That Puff Daddy song that bastardises The Police song. Make your own music!!

The absolute worst, which makes me feel murderous, is that Christmas song by the Pogues. I hate it with a vengeance. When I first heard it, I thought it was a pisstake of drunken people in a pub. Sadly not.

Empress13 · 02/01/2017 11:01

Another one is that awful song by Daniel Bedingfield if you're not the one aaaaaagggghhhh kill me now !! heard SiCo say once it was his favourite song - nuff said given his talent at producing good music

StepAwayFromTheEcclesCakes · 02/01/2017 11:45

that fecking 'swing from the chandelier' song, drives me batty, I have to mute it instantly. [anger]
