Just that really- got invited round for Xmas drinks at some friends at 4pm and they were in their pjs and stayed like that for a 2 hour visit - Aibu to feel uncomfortable with the extreme casual-ness of it all. Even my kids asked why they were in their pjs Confused

Me personally am never out of loungewear unless I leave the house. But if I had people coming I'd put on a "normal" top and leggings, but might still wear my housecoat over the top to be snuggly ☺ xx

This is one of the pictures that turns up when googling vaping jacket. How does this work??
One should vape using the hoody? Confused

We went to visit a friend today, around 11.30. She was in her pyjamas still, because she'd had a rough night. I was slightly surprised, but we're quite close and informal, so it didn't bother me!

Wookiecookies · 29/12/2016 20:14

I dont know 1horatio but I feel I must now purchase this item to be sure!

1horatio · 29/12/2016 20:16

Googling 'hot men in pyjamas' oh my!!! Blush

Hot women in pyjamas doesn't lead to similarly attractive results. Interesting;)!!

cheval · 29/12/2016 20:17

I'm guilty of wearing nightwear as daywear when it's freezing, as now. But would manage to change if I'd invited people over. Maybe if it were a close friend for a cuppa, I wouldn't bother.

And if it's good enough for her maj...

I think this is selfish. 'I'm in my own home so I can dress in pyjamas'... well not if it makes your invited guests feel uncomfortable.

It smacks of arrogance in this scenario.

And I've been dressed in pyjamas since 4pm. No visitors expected; large knickers, but no bra Grin.

HandsFaceTeeth · 29/12/2016 20:18

I agree with Squiffy - do people just stay in the same pjs they slept in? Surely really unhygienic???

Wookiecookies · 29/12/2016 20:18

Do not google "kinky pyjamas" I made that mistake earlier. There were definitely no pyjamas. Boak.

ItShouldHaveBeenJingleJess · 29/12/2016 20:19

cat's bath. I thought my mum invented this expression (and then foisted it upon me)!

I fondly recall my ex's horror when I announced once that I was getting up to have a 'cat's bath' and he genuinely thought that I was about to lick myself all over...Grin

Carol2013 · 29/12/2016 20:19

Yes sorry I totally agree with the OP. Although its probably because I hate sitting around in PJ's at home myself and didn't even do it with newborn babies. I just feel uncomfortable wearing bed clothes during the day. You can just as easily buy comfortable tracksuit bottoms (or similar) for lounging around the house. Obviously I agree you can wear what you want in your own home but, where do you draw the line if you've invited guests round? Personally if I invite guests over I want them to feel comfortable!!

sopsmum · 29/12/2016 20:19

God,I would be embarrassed if someone caught me lounging around in my joggers. I answered the door to a delivery driver in my dressing gown at 10am last week and nearly died of
Shame. Thought it was my husband forgotten his key again.....

Your boyfriend thinking you'd lick yourself all over 😂
DH had a similar reaction when I first said it. And then said that he thought that's called a 'w's bath'...

Wookiecookies · 29/12/2016 20:25

Shock what is a "cats bath"? Do we need a new thread?

Cary2012 · 29/12/2016 20:28

MajorieSimpson - what exactly is a 'sleep bra?'
Is it a normal bra, but one sleeps in it? Or is it a whole different thing? And how have I slept all these years without wearing one? And what about all those little day time snoozes in my 'day bra'??

CaraAspen · 29/12/2016 20:30

"HandsFaceTeeth

Erm...yes they do, probably, and yes it is. However, judging by the display of slightly irritated "merriment"apparent in recent posts, I think they are not so sure about anything anymore. Smile

Lovely!

1horatio · 29/12/2016 20:34

wookie

A cat's bath is apparently a w's bath (are we allowed to swear on mumsnet? I've been using it for quite some time. I really should know....)

1horatio · 29/12/2016 20:36

I personally am actually quite... negatively surprised that, according to this thread, many users go to bed without showering?

If yes... do you change your sheets every morning? Seeing as they've soaked up all the dirt accumulated during the day? And you only use your Pyjamas once, right?

pteradactyl · 29/12/2016 20:40

Really close friends I would stay in pjs. Anyone else I would get dressed for

CaraAspen · 29/12/2016 20:40

Negatively surprised? Loving it...

1horatio · 29/12/2016 20:43

Cara

Yes. Doesn't that phrasing work in English? 'Negativ überrascht' = negatively surprised? An unpleasant surprise?
