I've pretended to like Field of Dreams for at least 10 years.. It's utter nonsense! Brought it up today with a mate.. Haha she hates Withnail & I but has always maintained she was a fan!!! If you understand where we're coming from. What film to you secretly hate that everyone else apparently loves ???

The Lovely Bones, the Notebook and My Sisters Keeper.. All the "weepies"

Janey50 · 11/12/2016 19:26

I loved Withnail and I! Hated Mrs. Doubtfire and Dirty Dancing.

plastique · 11/12/2016 19:26

The80sweregreat · 11/12/2016 19:27

Ninja, dont mince your words! Lol..
Never seen any of those filmss.

dingdongdigeridoo · 11/12/2016 19:28

Dirty Dancing always grossed me out a bit. Isn't she supposed to be about 16? The age gap made it creepy.

Never thought Pretty Woman was particularly romantic either. I couldn't exactly see their relationship lasting long.

Agree that the Matrix is shite too. People still go on as if it's some philosophical masterpiece. It comes across as something you'd think was so deep as a teenager.

MrsJayy · 11/12/2016 19:28

Black swan all she did was fiddle with herself and it drove her mad .hours of my life I wont get back

The80sweregreat · 11/12/2016 19:30

Plastique, my ds is obsessed and his mates are worse. Total freaks, have nine hour sessions watching it all back to back.
Orlando blooms eyes are enough to put me off.

MrsJayy · 11/12/2016 19:30

Love Actually is drivel infact most of the curtis films.

plastique · 11/12/2016 19:36

What about cult foreign films like Betty Blue, Bilitiz, Jean de Florette???

liberatethebuns · 11/12/2016 19:36

So many of the Marvel/DC films. A lot of them rely on the novelty factor of seeing your favourite characters on screen with a couple of hundred million dollars budget backing them up, and hope that's enough to gloss over the shit script, rubbish pacing and uninspiring soundtracks. Zero risk-taking. Leave the cinema and once the wow factor has worn off you realise that it was all a bit crap.

ipswichwitch · 11/12/2016 19:36

I can't stand any of the Meet the Fockers films. Completely unfunny, cringeworthy and wtf was Robert De Niro thinking. Everybody I know loves them and cannot fathom how I don't find them remotely funny.

cushioncovers · 11/12/2016 19:39

Dirty dancing
Mamma Mia
Broke back mountain
The lobster
Monty python films
Wicker man
Mad max films

badabing36 · 11/12/2016 19:39

I know it's tv but Fawtly Towers annoys the hell out of me. Had to listen to one of those men at a party explain to the whole room why it was the best comedy ever and the most British thing in the world apparently. Yeah misogynistic, xenophobic and just plain bollocks sounds pretty British to meXmas Grin.

Also, the lord of the rings films. So bloody long. Loads of overacting too, so many shots of Orlando Bloom looking off into the distance an trying to look deep, but just looking a bit constipated.

Like the hobbit films though, OB was better in them too, think he must've learned to act in the meantime. I liked him in Pirates of the Caribbean and Extras.

plastique · 11/12/2016 19:40

Cushioncovers.. The Wicker man I soooo agree

Heath muttered and mumbled through brokeback i fell asleep it was so dull

The80sweregreat · 11/12/2016 19:43

I hate cringy films when you know its going tits up!

In meet the parents the main guy is treated like poo, everyone lets him humiliate himself and find it funny / let it happen. Its not good, makes my stomach do somersaults! I feel for the fall guys/ gels.

badabing36 · 11/12/2016 19:43

X post with the80s there. Glad I'm not the only one who noticed. My sister looked at me like I was on glue when I mentioned it to her.

Jonsnowsghost · 11/12/2016 19:48

Was forced to watch Dirty dancing as I hadn't seen it....there was a reason for that, it's shit! Also hated Amelie but everyone seems to love it. She just annoyed me Confused

Volluminati · 11/12/2016 20:03

Pulp Fiction -one of the most vile ,disgusting films I've ever seen. Saw it in the cinema with my husband and walked out after 20 mins. Got shouted at and jeered by loads of people but some of those scenes were too graphic.

fj3568 · 11/12/2016 20:06

Mama Mia - claptrap and embarrassing watching the glorious Meryl Streep parading around in pigtails and dungarees -ffs wise up
