I've always been keen to have my hair like this, even as a teen, but always kept it long.

DH says no way, but I really want to Sad not exactly like the picture, but that's as close I can get showing you what I mean.

WIBU to get it cut like that even though he would hate it?

I've had my hair very long (mid-thigh length) & very short (I currently have a super short pixie). I frequently got comments on how long, thick, shiny etc my hair was, but it's only since I've had it cut that people have told me that it suits me. DH likes it either way but has admitted that he actually prefers it short, not that it would influence me in my choice of hairstyle. It's nice that he likes it though.

Shocked that some people potentially would leave their partners over a haircut, how shallow!

i think its best to look in the real world for what haircuts look like rather than stars all made up for the red carpet. I think short hair , often does look dowdy in real life, looking around. It's often the make up and clothes that look glam too. So I think you need the whole outfit to work together.

Or one might prefer long hair on either sex as a matter of simple aesthetics. Also, good hair is a sign of fecundity so there might be evolutionary reasons for men to prefer it to short hair.

Nothing to do with sexism. The argument that "women in misogynistic societies have long hair, therefore it is misogynist to prefer women to have long hair" doesn't follow.

When did long hair=good hair and short hair=bad hair Hmm

'For better, for poorer, for sickness and ill health - just never cut your hair wifey or I will divorce you'.

Isn't that how it goes?

I'd love to be able to have a pixie cut, it'd curl up too bad though.

I think my DP would like it, he actually prefers shorter hair (bob length).

That's a question of morals, ie, nothing to do with what I'm talking about.

Yep that's seems how some think it is....

I like both those short styles, and mine is very like the Melanie Griffith (?) one. I prefer short hair on most women actually; it shows off good bone structure.

Your hair, your choice. And it'll grow if you don't like it.

And yes, you'll need to be otherwise glam imho.
