Err. Ok then

BravoPanda · 08/12/2016 00:01

Do you read the Guardian a lot, op? Hmm

RortyCrankle · 08/12/2016 00:01

I like it and voted for it and Brexit Grin

EstelleRoberts · 08/12/2016 00:04

Couldn't agree more, OP. Your list could have been much longer. We are being governed by a bunch of vile, compassionless, clueless fuckwits.

Footinmouthasusual · 08/12/2016 00:05

The government didn't vote for Brexit.

Millions of people voted UKIP in the last general election.

The rich always get rich and there's always the poor

Public services get slashed after a recession.

Make a point.

Footinmouthasusual · 08/12/2016 00:08

Yes and if labour got their fucking act together and hadn't ejected useless Ed and preposterous Jeremy we might be in with a chance.

Jeremy voted against every bit of EU legislation by the way so he's a brexiteer.

Footinmouthasusual · 08/12/2016 00:10

Elected not ejected. Although ejected would be better.

Suppermummy02 · 08/12/2016 00:30

YABU to blame someone for something that is not their responsibility.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 08/12/2016 00:48

YNBU. Just because the poor have always got poorer. That doesn't make it acceptable, but to. Lots of people aka as the I'm alright Jack brigade think that's okay, though. That's why things will sadly never change, because people seem to get off on picking on the poor.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 08/12/2016 00:49

Oh and Brexit is their responsibility. They got us the vote, didn't they.

Sybys · 08/12/2016 00:55

I wouldn't go badmouthing them, not now that they have quietly passed legislation allowing them to keep track of your internet history and hack your devices...

DarkNanny · 08/12/2016 00:59

Absolutely Spy May and her cronies ... but seriously it is a two headed snake so the beast is still the same just the lies are phrases differently what we should do is as Iceland did they sacked the government and arrested the bankers but that simply isn't Britishness tea anyone?

JellyBelli · 08/12/2016 01:05

Economists say austerity measures arent working.
The NHS is being sold off. My consultant cant afford to treat me as often as I need it.
My benefits have been cut. I need a carer and cant afford one. I used to get low rate DLA but dont qualify for PIP.
New benefit rules mean I daren't look for work, even if I find someone able to overlook my disability and employ me, if I have a bad spell and go back onto benefits I'll be on the new low rate. I'd go bankrupt.
And new benefit rules means I cant go self employed. so even if I manage to find a job I can do at home, that no longer possible. I'd have to go straight into earning a living wage from day 1, isnt going to happen.

This govt hate us poor people and so does everyone who votes for them.

How very dare I link to a Guardian article Confused
www.theguardian.com/business/ng-interactive/2015/apr/29/the-austerity-delusion

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 08/12/2016 01:20

I'm not bad mouthing. I'm speaking the truth. I'm not saying anything on here or on any other site that I wouldn't say to their faces.

Klaphat · 08/12/2016 01:57

Economists say austerity measures arent working.

They seem to be doing exactly what you might expect the Tories to want them to do.

OlennasWimple · 08/12/2016 02:16

But what's the alternative? Where on earth is the strong, credible left wing / liberal opposition?

Yabbadabbo2 · 08/12/2016 02:51

You'll get your chance in 2020. But guessing your one of them that dont accept unless you get what you want so you'll be upset then as well.

malificent7 · 08/12/2016 06:00

Why is the only alternative lanour?

Actually i did join labour as i love Jezzer.. as did a huge number of others who voted for him.

Yes, the government are trying to encourage people to support themselves.

Years of overspending plus a collapsing global market meant that austerity was necessary. The state can't afford to support everyone.

The government is doing excellently as regarding the economy, even more so taking into the effect's of Brexit.

Awwlookatmybabyspider
Oh and Brexit is their responsibility. They got us the vote, didn't they.

You mean you blame them for allowing democracy to work? Giving the plebs a say!

honeysucklejasmine · 08/12/2016 06:59

Mistoff but what about people who are unable to support themselves? Disability isn't something you choose, you know. It could happen to you. Today. And in a year's time, when some millionaire has succeeded in making you so destitute you are forced to work, except no-one will employ you.... well i hope you think back on what you said.

SVJAA · 08/12/2016 06:59

So the answer is to slash disability benefits, make the new one virtually impossible to claim and leave disabled people in abject poverty unable to afford basic help? Hmm
Of course the government can't support everyone, but I'd suggest that they looked into capping the amount landlords can charge, their own expenses and also creating more jobs. Leaving people who are UNABLE rather than unwilling to work in poverty is disgusting. Being blasé about it isn't much better.
(Before you jump on me I'm not on benefits, I just don't like the idea of anyone being treated this way.)

Livelovebehappy · 08/12/2016 07:07

Brexit happened because of democracy, so why is that a bad thing? I voted for Brexit, and am happy with my choice - and my family and friends who voted otherwise are still talking to me, so win-win for me. I say all of us are responsible for our own destiny. No, I might not be as rich as a doctor or some other professional, but I respect the choices they made in life - they gave up large chunks of their life to study hard to get where they are, whilst I couldn't be arsed to study for anything, and left school with next to nothing. I do now have a good job through working hard in later life. It makes me laugh when people seem to want us all to be the same financially. How would that give anyone the incentive to work hard at school/uni if you're still going to get the same wage as Billy down the road who mucked around at school and claims jobseekers?

Livelovebehappy · 08/12/2016 07:09

And as the thread seems to have started turning into a disability one (again!), I would add that I am not talking about the disabled in my post; but about able bodied people able to work.

wintersbranches · 08/12/2016 07:13

I don't agree with the way disability benefits have been targeted, although I do think that reviewing people's conditions is no bad thing. Obviously, it's irritating if you have a condition that won't change or improve but this isn't the case for everybody.

What I would like a government to properly get to grips with is the rights of workers and I do not mean those of us still relatively pampered with full sick pay and maternity rights. Essentially it means ending agency Britain. I'd like to see an age of proper contracts, set numbers of hours that aren't something ridiculous like six or fourteen.

I'd like to see some real solutions for working parents with primary aged children. I'd like to see breakfast and after school clubs open at a realistic hour. I'd like to see vouchers available for those working in low pay but still working.

I'd like to see public transport links, especially in the north, strengthened. Never mind HS2, why not open a few more local village stations? One thing for Jeremy Corbyn to complain he can't sit down on a train. Would he like not being able to get a train as his nearest station is 6 miles and a tedious beyond belief bus journey away?

But everyone is just squabbling about this that and other rubbish.

Alfieisnoisy · 08/12/2016 07:18

Thing is that many disabled people feel very scared about the cuts so yes...they WILL mention them if someone who supports the Govts aims fails to.

But I digress.

I am hating them tbh and will continue to do so all the while I see vital services being slashed.

And on the subject of hating governments I hate every single one from around 1982 onwards for causing a fucking housing crisis and then failing to address that massive problem. The Govts from both sides of the house should hang their heads in shame over this.
