AIBU to think this guy is truly a complete and utter narcissitic twit?

He has the nerve to steal stories from mumsnet and then describes us all as "foul mouthed, illiterate harridans"

Grrr.

Yes we do, Matthew. Get over it.

He can’t mean Mumsnet if he said illiterate. The posting standard on here is astonishingly high compared to most forums. People apologise if they accidentally miss an autocorrect or misuse an apostrophe.

A good proportion of the population don’t have a clue how to use an apostrophe and certainly wouldn’t apologise on an internet forum if they got one wrong.

BeautyGoesToBenidorm · 17/11/2016 11:27

Can we not just change our name to Cuntsnet? Might put an end to Matthun and the DM once and for all.

MistresssIggi · 17/11/2016 11:28

It's just a name. Like nest of vipers. I imagine he holds us all in some degree of affection since mumsnet threads are often the most interesting thing on his programme.

LittlePaintBox · 17/11/2016 11:28

He knew what to expect - maybe it turns him on to be slagged off on Mumsnet

Wookiecookies · 17/11/2016 11:28

Oh beauty, that is an amazing idea!

I second this motion, we should petition MNHQ to change the name immediately! Grin

I don't like the misogyny in 'harridans'. Apart from that, meh. His opinion matters not.

EmzDisco · 17/11/2016 11:29

I've always hated him and his cuntingly irritating show, way before I ever set foot on mumsnet. UGH!

BeautyGoesToBenidorm · 17/11/2016 11:30

Wookie Grin Using sweary harridan usernames hasn't done anything, so we need to go right back to the source!

Wookiecookies · 17/11/2016 11:30

Has he ever shared the threads on here slagging him off on his programme?

:o Like others I'm OK with the rest but illiterate? The high level of literacy, wit and writing skill is one of the things that makes MN so great.

(I'm sure harridan is fundamentally sexist but but I quite like it.)

Cuntsnet: By cunts, for cunts, plundered by cunts.

squoosh · 17/11/2016 11:32

I imagine a harridan having a mile wide bottom encased in a sensible tweed skirt. She probably has a matronly bosom too. And of course, a facial expression that could peel paint off the walls.

I like her.

Wookiecookies · 17/11/2016 11:32

Definition of Harridan.

He has always been like that though, nowt new. Up his own arse, 'I am such a funny/intelligent/better than you guy' attitude.

Havent watched it since he made 'retarded' comments while laughing at how funny and superior he was, about Susan Boyle.

WaitroseCoffeeCostaCup · 17/11/2016 11:34

'He probably had an erection when he said it too.'

It's so much better when he's on one of his many holidays or sickies and Richard Madeley covers. Can't beat a bit of Dick!

Makes you think about what he says when the camera isn't running!, I wonder if he's more like...

Tabloid hacks are not renowned for their understanding!

BeautyGoesToBenidorm · 17/11/2016 11:34

squoosh, Kim of Kim & Aggie fame then? Grin

I don't think that's necessarily anything to be proud of on a website designed to help and support parents.

I live in one of London's most poverty stricken areas, where teenage pregnancy/childhood obesity/crime/domestic violence is extremely high.

It's clear from the local facebook groups/other local forums that there is also a very poor standard of literacy.

Yet I can't see many of those people in desperate need of help, wanting to turn to a forum where they're very likely to be constantly criticised for how they type.

It's a real shame.

Mondegreens · 17/11/2016 11:36

'Harridan', like 'virago' or 'harpy' in practice tends to mean 'woman who's not bothered about whether I find her fuckable, with inconvenient (to me) opinions she's unapologetic and vocal about'. 'Foul-mouthed' is a matter of opinion, but men who bang on about female 'bad language' tend to also be a bit funny about women drinking pints - apparently it makes their penises shrivel and fall off.

And I have an Oxford doctorate. Illiterate I am not.

OliviaBensonOnAGoodDay · 17/11/2016 11:36

Foul mouthed, yes, but we're definitely not illiterate.
