Ok, sorry in advance for posting yet another election thread in AIBU so please hide post if necessary Blush but, after everything thats happened is anyone else really surprised that she didnt at least thank her supporters at the rally? There's been nothing from her at all! Confused

Its just bizarre.

How did she not cry? Such composure.

buckingfrolicks · 09/11/2016 16:55

She'd have made a great president

PurplePen · 09/11/2016 16:55

Fabulous speech, she looked tired and emotional, but a wonderful speech and very dignified.

and that pneumonia or whatever she had is definitely still lingering. I hope she takes some time out now to get some rest and get well again.

Saffronesque · 09/11/2016 16:58

Bill looked more likely to cry than she, though a good few throat swallowing moments.

Saffronesque · 09/11/2016 16:58

That was a class act.

Cocolepew · 09/11/2016 16:59

She was very composed, Bill not so much.

zen1 · 09/11/2016 16:59

That was a more genuine and heart-felt speech than she's made in a long time.

PigletWasPoohsFriend · 09/11/2016 16:59

Good concession speech.

Gobbolinothewitchscat · 09/11/2016 17:01

THe speech was good - it's a shame she didn't stump like that

Unfortunately it still should have been made last night - cometh the hour, cometh the woman

user1471525261 · 09/11/2016 17:05

Incredible speech, so composed.

YonicProbe · 09/11/2016 17:06

Yes, it was a great speech.

OP, your OP was fine! Many people on the thread were unkind, not you - how a thread turns out is not a reflection of the first post.

Wookiecookies · 09/11/2016 17:07

YonicProbe · 09/11/2016 17:10

I confess that I might have had some Wine already Wink

Mummyme1987 · 09/11/2016 17:10

I liked her speech

Wookiecookies · 09/11/2016 17:12

It really has mummy the last 24 hours pretty much sums up the whole of 2016 to me. I would say thank god its nearly over, but 2017 isnt exactly looking great either right now! Shock

That speech made me cry. How she held it together, I do not know. She is either a sociopath or an incredibly strong and self sufficient person.

I admire her for that.

pontificationcentral · 09/11/2016 17:13

So suspect after that speech, there will be a good few people wondering if they have made the right choice. DT didn't even sound sincere. Bill looked terrible. I thought he was going to cry.
And for the life of me, I am still cross with the Trumps for leaving that poor child on stage looking terrified, and no one even giving him a reassuring arm squeeze, a pat, or even a friendly smile to acknowledge his presence. He just looked terrified. Interesting that DT chose to have him standing next to him instead of the next First Lady. Says a lot. And poor Melania. I mean, how is she going to cope? I saw some of the footage of her yesterday and thought she looked terrified at the prospect of him winning. What the fuck is she going to do now?
I am awestruck by that speech though - no one can say that Hillary doesn't know how to be a stateswoman. I am writhing in horror that she has lost to a man that openly mocks people with disabilities, treats women and their bodily autonomy with contempt, and has already made such terrible promises with regard to immigrants. My LGBTQ friends are very afraid.
Grace in defeat though, Hillary. And a promise that she will keep working for the country.
Her makeup artist was working wonders today though - there were a couple of camera angles that highlighted the shadows, but they did a good job of hiding the exhaustion and defeat.

pont - sorry, what child? Bit confused.

YonicProbe · 09/11/2016 17:15

" I am still cross with the Trumps for leaving that poor child on stage looking terrified, and no one even giving him a reassuring arm squeeze, a pat, or even a friendly smile to acknowledge his presence. He just looked terrified."

Well put, I thought that boy was very rabbit in headlights!

AF - I think she only just did - and I suspect she wouldn't have done so a few hours earlier.

YonicProbe · 09/11/2016 17:15

Trump and Melania's son, Lorelei

Wookiecookies · 09/11/2016 17:15

Well said pontification I did feel for his son indeed, he looked utterly bewildered, much like the rest of the world right now!
