To stop wearing hoodies because I'm 31?

I'm sure other folk my age are able to rock a hoodie no problems but I went to put on an old favourite this morning - a skate-brand camouflage zip up one - and the words mutton and lamb immediately sprang to mind.

I have a lot of hoodies and think my style is a bit... young (not "on-trend young", just haven't really changed my style that much since I was young myself!)

Went into town after work today to buy 4 naice smarti-sh jumpers to avoid a similar scenario tomorrow morning.

AIBU to ask if you've had similar fallings-out with much trusted and loved staples of your wardrobe?!

Yanbu but I think it's because I was young when hoodies were at the height of being a teenage/student "thing", so I can't break the association in my head. I think if I was ten years older it wouldn't bother me one bit, but if I put on a hoodie now I'd feel like I was regressing.

I find them so so unattractive on grown men as well, for much the same reasons. It's a total socks and sandals, ovary shrivelling effect for me

if it feels comfy - do it!

Better still hang around where the youths hang out and do the "Yeo gansta" stuff. Next week they will all be dressed like Jacob Rees- Mogg.

I have a cashmere hoody I bought in the M&S sale a number of years ago. I love it so so warm. Maybe just go something a bit more sophisticated. I also have two fine knit ones also from Mark's think they belonged to a lounge wear range. I am also not far from getting the pension.

I'm 41 and wear them all the time....... nobody is going to tell me what I can and can't wear tyvm

I'm 55 and still wear them. ☺️ They look ok and as I suffer from neck and shoulder issues, I find they keep my neck area warmer and on a cold day put the hood up over a wooly hat to keep the warmth in.
