OK, i'm not an old fuddy duddy, but what are all the abreviations people on here use ~?? I was looking for advice about a illness my grandaugher has at the moment and couldn't understand what the little initails MEAN? ie- WTF -GD DD OH MY ????? My granddaughter lives with us and she is 7 and a little angel come devil lol

My mother used to think that LOL was "Lots of Love" not "Laugh Out Loud". Nobody really minded and didn't point it out to her until she was sending information about the impending death of an elderly relative....

I'm now in my 50s but when I first came across LOL in an e mail, from a young, male business contact to me (many years ago now), I admit I did wonder why he was sending me lots of love. It was only after asking a younger colleague, did I realise that he was just laughing about some comment he'd made

My Gran is 93 and doesn't like the interweb wotnot but she luffs me and she won the war on her own. She did great things for her Country and has an OBE.
She also knows how to spell

My Gran was Bad in the war.

She was already engaged to my grandfather, who was stationed a long way away, & they got 2 days' leave to get married. Just after the wedding she got a telegram saying her leave was cancelled & to get back immediately.

So she tore it up & went back the next afternoon.
