OP posts:
rumpelstiltskin43 · 31/10/2016 02:53

My Grandmother would be 140.

As above you're the one that posted in AIBU and tried to be patronizing.

Topseyt · 31/10/2016 02:58

My grandma would be 112 if still alive.

She died aged 92 a few months before DD1 was born, and she turned 21 this year.

WhereYouLeftIt · 31/10/2016 03:07

"why would you be so negative ?? that's really not a nice thing so say or a good example to anyone??? is this the attitude you want your children to have? yes I am real and yes I am starting again with a child, you should be ashamed of yourself as sometimes I might be able to give you some good advice, did you grow up without any manners ?"
Grin

Yes it is the attitude I have instilled want in my son. I am not ashamed of myself. And I apparently have better manners than you, entering an established forum with a fairly well-known reputation for straight talking and getting all huffy about it.

Might I suggest you would be happier in Gransnet?

VivienneWestwoodsKnickers · 31/10/2016 03:09

I call BS on the OP....

LittleMissUpset · 31/10/2016 03:48

Wowthat escalated quickly!

People just gave you advice and that's how you respond?

On AIBU people say it as it is, but I think your response was a little over the top Hmm

I think if you want kisses and Huns etc another site might be more useful for you? Some people do it here but it's not really popular, still doesn't mean people aren't supportive.

blueskyinmarch · 31/10/2016 04:58

OP I am not sure this forum is for you if you are getting so riled about the comments you are getting. We do not like to be patronised here. I am a 54 year old mum who can impart good advice when needed. I can also have a laugh and drink gin too. I think you need to take a deep breath and find the right topic to post in. AIBU is not a starter post topic. Maybe post in the Parenting Topic?

BeingATwatItsABingThing · 31/10/2016 05:33

Ahahahahahahahaha!

I have a mother thank you. She's brilliant. To be honest, you probably are old enough to be my grandmother but that doesn't give you the right to patronise me. I am an adult, a mother and a teacher. I've survived without your expertise so far... Biscuit

We don't "mother" each other on here. We support with tough love, bringing people back to their senses when they need it and giving occasional hand holds. Never a hug though. It's one of my favourite things about MN.

GinIsIn · 31/10/2016 06:16

Erm... Not sure being alternately patronised and insulted is the advice and expertise most of us are looking for, thanks! Hmm

Lots of us are neither young, nor mums. People tend to both give and receive advice based on their personal experience and expertise.

If someone asks for an opinion and you have one, great. But it's not called mumsnet because we are all looking for someone to be our mum.

HTH.

BeingATwatItsABingThing · 31/10/2016 06:26

I'm amazed there hasn't been an ODFOD yet...

insancerre · 31/10/2016 06:32

See, that's what happens when those grannies get on the internet
Surely they should be restricted in their online activities?

Does nethuns have a granny section?

Footle · 31/10/2016 06:43

My grandma would be 118. I wonder what advice the OP would have given me.
My advice to her if she's still here, is to try Gransnet as others have suggested. I'm the right demographic for it but it made my teeth itch when I tried it. I got this sort of beige feeling.

SillyMoomin · 31/10/2016 06:48

Wow op

Seems like you need some lessons in manners yourself

bloodymaria · 31/10/2016 06:49

Gosh! That last post was a bit negative OP!

VanillaSugarandPumpkinSpice · 31/10/2016 07:00

I second the poster calling BS on the OP. Or maybe she's sleeping off her hangover. Just cos she's a gran doesn't mean to say she's old: 16 + 15 + 7 = 38.

I always thought the D in DH meant darling. ... with the family is genius though!

Awwww look, the little grandchild tried to be granny for the day and failed miserably... Bless

MummyLikesWrapMusic · 31/10/2016 07:12

WTEQ.....

abreviations ???
VanillaSugarandPumpkinSpice · 31/10/2016 07:30

WTAF????

That's a new one!

Mrsemcgregor · 31/10/2016 07:52

With the family Halloween Grin

That's all I have to add.

FuckeryOmbudsman · 31/10/2016 08:00

D is such a useful letter - dickhead for example.

OP: you are of the generation that reads and lurks before jumping in to a forum - for that's how it used to be. So I'm very surprised that you haven't twigged that MN has a particular lingo. Or that there is a huge age range of of posters and you are not an outlier.

Let alone that this is a site where people chat. It's not about setting an example.

As it pointed out on the frequently appearing (and just as frequently deleted) 'you're all bitches who are doing it wrong' threads.

AuntieStella · 31/10/2016 08:01

'old enough to be probably your grandmother'

I doubt it. You'd have to be over 125.

MissHooliesCardigan · 31/10/2016 08:03

OP, you may feel more at home on PatronisingTwatsNet.

AuntieStella · 31/10/2016 08:04

Now that's a catchy name, cardigan Grin

Maudlinmaud · 31/10/2016 08:07

Quite amusing. That is all Grin

PortiaCastis · 31/10/2016 09:38
