VanillaSugarandPumpkinSpice · 31/10/2016 10:46

Wtaf do those mean Portia??

QuinionsRainbow · 31/10/2016 10:56

And while we're at it, WTF is "norn iron", seen elsewhere in these pages this very morning.

PortiaCastis · 31/10/2016 10:58

Vanilla
FMOB =Fuck My Old Boots
FUBAR = Fucked Up Beyond All Recognition

BobEsponja · 31/10/2016 11:12

Norn Iron is Northern Ireland.

Mynestisfullofempty · 31/10/2016 11:31

I thought FUBAR = Fucked up beyond any redemption.

Ginslinger · 31/10/2016 11:34

I am 60 and a grandmother and have been here for about 8 years - so far I've managed not to mother anyone - I have learnt a great deal from much younger women.

Ginslinger · 31/10/2016 11:39

does no one care that I'm 60 and a grandma? Hmm

Ginslinger · 31/10/2016 11:39

does no one care that I'm 60 and a grandma? Hmm

SamhainSoubriquet · 31/10/2016 11:43

you better tootle off to gransnet Gin

I mean we are rude yoofs here Grin

Mynestisfullofempty · 31/10/2016 11:47

Well while we're all talking about our ages and our relatives' ages, I may as well join in I suppose. If my father were still alive he would be 107 and my only child (daughter) is 25. That's quite a big age range isn't it? Smile

WitchesTeaHauntedShower · 31/10/2016 11:52

Eh? WTF happened here? LMFAO Halloween Smile
FWIW I thought STBXH was stupid bastard ex. Lots of people have made that mistake though.

FadedRed · 31/10/2016 12:01

I care deeply for your GM status Ginslinger.
I'm sure I'm not alone in this.

insancerre · 31/10/2016 12:58

I am old enough to be a grandma
I'm not though
Because my dc don't care enough about me to make me one
They only care about themselves, their education and their careers
It's not fair

PortiaCastis · 31/10/2016 13:01

SPAG

Katnisnevergreen · 31/10/2016 13:06

This is hilarious. I really hope the OP comes back and continues Grin

MissHooliesCardigan · 31/10/2016 13:11

I always wonder about the mentality of someone who marches onto a website that's been around for years and has millions of members and proceeds to patronise everyone and tell them they're doing it wrong, starts berating everyone to learn some manners and then flounces off. It just shows a stunning lack of self awareness.
Gin I thought you were about 25 but am deeply impressed that you're a grandmother.

littlemissM92 · 31/10/2016 13:15

Christ I feel sorry for the OP she has had her bitten off when she was trying to be kind

MummyLikesWrapMusic · 31/10/2016 13:23

littlemissM92, judging by the way all the post were written, I wouldn't be too concerned for the op. Anyone who knows MN would be familiar with the style, it was an odd opening post. Following that, the very dramatic from introduction to flounce in 4 posts suggest it possibly wasn't completely true. Could be wrong, of course. If I am, the very patronising way the op spoke was just as rude as some of the replies.

Topseyt · 31/10/2016 13:55

Littlemiss, I wouldn't worry too much about the OP.

Someone coming on here offering to mother us within her first two or three posts is very likely not for real. At best they lack a certain amount of social awareness and have never taken the time to read and understand the forum.

Getting huffy and flouncing when grown adults say that they don't want to be mothered by her (or him?) is just twatty.

SerendipityPhenomenon · 31/10/2016 14:02

Sorry, as an oldun starting again with a grandchild, I wil try to use acronyms, but frankly I will also use plain old English, I hope you young mum's don't mind but I do have a few years experiance and will try to be a mum to all, is that ok ?

"Plain old English" would have been nice. Terms like "oldun", "mum's" and "experiance" don't really come into that category.

Rachel0Greep · 31/10/2016 14:07

I have a feeling there was a post like this before on here offering to 'mother' us or suchlike.

Maudlinmaud · 31/10/2016 14:17

What is "experiance"?

Topseyt · 31/10/2016 16:00

It is not possible to have "experiance". It IS possible to have "experience" though. Grin

Off to Pedants' Corner. Wink

FruJustFru · 31/10/2016 16:07

Never mind whether the OP is genuine, or not. I am absolutely guffawing at WTF = With The Family!
