To continue to wonder who is happy with where Brexit is heading

Whilst I'm sure Leavers will undoubtedly think AIBU the last thread filled up so here's another 1000 opportunities to discuss what you think about where Brexit is heading.

The points you raise are about averages. One of them, about being net contributors, is wrong.

're averages: the rich benefit from the EU while the poor feel it's disbenefits. They are not experiencing averages. They are experiencing active disbenefits. They are disproportionately affected.

Bearbehind · 29/10/2016 11:23

Supply and demand doesn't solve the problem ww how will demand reduce if no immigrants currently here have to leave?

OP posts:
Bearbehind · 29/10/2016 11:26

Yes they are averages but you can't work on case by case basis.

And you still haven't addressed how the poorest will cope with the cost of living rises?

Using specifics, how are are Frank Fields constituents going to cope over the next 2 years?

OP posts:
WinchesterWoman · 29/10/2016 11:29

supply and demand doesn't solve the problem this doesn't make sense

immigrants are not all from the EU irrelevant see argument above 're controls

they won't all go home read my post: I talk about being able to plan services better - nothing in my posts about the benefits of credit, actually need people to 'go home' - it makes no difference.

WinchesterWoman · 29/10/2016 11:30

How dismissive. It's not case by case. Poor people are disproportionately badly affected and better off people should recognise that.

WinchesterWoman · 29/10/2016 11:31

Yes I have addressed it: rents will fall, house prices will fall, and as we are seeing, the lowest wages will continue to be the fastest rising.

Bearbehind · 29/10/2016 11:31

Of course it makes sense ww because I said demand won't fall.

We already have 'controls' for non away immigrants but they are still putting pressure on services in some areas.

Planning for the future is one thing but how are those least able, going to cope in the short term.

OP posts:
WinchesterWoman · 29/10/2016 11:34

Do you understand unlimited supply? That stops. It doesn't matter how 'full' the country is when it stops. It stops. Unlimited supply stops.

And demand - that becomes predictable. It will grow at a predictable rate and can be planned for in infrastructure strategy.

Bearbehind · 29/10/2016 11:35

It's not dismissive at all. On average immigration isn't the problem you are making it out to be.

If you want to discuss specifics I then asked you how a specific community will cope in the short term and you've completely ignored that question

I don't believe house prices will fall, the sterling drop makes them prime investment even if domestic demand declines.

OP posts:
WinchesterWoman · 29/10/2016 11:37

Is the short term your worry now? That's your big worry?so you acknowledge that the long term looks satisfactory?

WinchesterWoman · 29/10/2016 11:39

Jeez I can't repeat myself any more. See my 1123 post.

Bloomberg predicts a drop. And you believe then that one of project year's threats was misplaced.

WinchesterWoman · 29/10/2016 11:40

Why are they prime investment if the country's going down the plughole?

WinchesterWoman · 29/10/2016 11:41

A specific community should get more govern mm ent support. But it won't be long before we see benefits.

frumpet · 29/10/2016 11:45

I wonder Winchester if you are confusing immigration and copulation , the latter being the main reason that supply out strips demand in this country Wink

surferjet · 29/10/2016 11:50

Hi Bearbehind

Immigration has been built up into this big perceived issue but how many of you have been directly affected by it

See this your problem, not understanding why someone who isn't directly affected by immigration voted leave. ( although I know quite a few people who have lost out on jobs because of EU FOM )

I'm fairly rich, I live in a smart part of London, my ds is privately educated. I enjoy the vibrant, multicultural, wonderful city that London is & I fully acknowledge all the wonderful positives immigration has provided. however - Tony Blair fucked this country up with his mass immigration policy, even admitting 'they got it wrong' - as if we didn't know Hmm
Non EU immigration is another issue but I wouldn't let anyone in unless we desperately needed their skills or they were genuine refugees, & I'd keep those numbers down to the bare minimum.
I told you 4 months ago that I voted for the greater good, & for communities that I've never been within 100 miles of but that I know are suffering due to EU FOM.
There were other reasons too, I didn't vote purely on FOM, but I really feel enough is enough with these discussions. How many times can we go over the same things?
Brexit is happening, we need to back our country & stop talking it down with all this 'we're the laughing stock of the world' - really? I'd say we're the complete opposite.

WinchesterWoman · 29/10/2016 11:53

No confusion here frumpetGrin copulation and family size being a historically predictable and surprisingly boring phenomenonWink

WinchesterWoman · 29/10/2016 11:54

Surfer I'm scared. Are you me.

frumpet · 29/10/2016 11:56

Oopsie , demand outstrips supply . You see this is what happens when you take expert advice and try things 15 times before coming to the conclusion that you really don't like them < gives evil sherry a hard stare > Grin

surferjet · 29/10/2016 11:58

haha WW.
I think there's quite a few of us actually Wink

Bearbehind · 29/10/2016 12:02

surfer and ww I think it's the likes of you that have fucked this country up now.

You sit there in your ivory towers looking out on the poor thinking you know what's best for them and that all their problems are due to pesky immigrants.

Are either of you going to tell me how deprived areas with high immigration are going to cope in the short term?

RufusTheSpartacusReindeer · 29/10/2016 12:03

Hey winchester

In your defence i think are one of the few people on here that does answer direct questions

Because of this i always assume that if you havent answered then you just havent seen it

WinchesterWoman · 29/10/2016 12:03

Evil sherry at 1156

twofingerstoGideon · 29/10/2016 12:04

not reported by remainer bbc
Anyone who thinks the BBC favours remain needs their bumps read. Have you watched QT recently, read the BBC website or followed BBC Politics Facebook page? In the lead-up to the Referendum I had to turn Radio 4 off almost every morning because I was so sick of hearing Gove, IDS, Priti Patel et al lying about giving money to the NHS, universities etc and only once heard the presenter challenge this, saying they had no authority to make these promises.
Remainer BBC my arse.

WinchesterWoman · 29/10/2016 12:05

I think we should all have sherry before the sun is over the yard arm

Hi roof and thanks

WinchesterWoman · 29/10/2016 12:06

Surfer yes I think there are and I think some of them are still remainers at dinner parties
