Whilst I'm sure Leavers will undoubtedly think AIBU the last thread filled up so here's another 1000 opportunities to discuss what you think about where Brexit is heading.

Goady. It's like having two aggressive people with their arms folded jabbing their fingers at you. Ugh.

autumnintheair · 28/10/2016 21:26

I don't understand bear you asked WW a question and the first thing that sprung to my mind was this article that I posted by Frank Field.

Which ones are those? The ones that don't live in his constituency, don't take the housing or jobs in his constituency, and don't take up education or heath services in his constituency?

I would say the ones that do live in his constituency, that do compete with the poorest for the housing at the bottom of the social heap, that do compete with the poorest for jobs and that do need school places and health services.

But probably the ones that simply were not counted or accounted for by the Blair Government. As the millions of others who have not been counted. Because there was no will or desire by the then Government to do so.
I think Frank Field is one of best MP's he is a sincere person, I struggle to understand why he would make this up? For what purpose or gain?

PresidentOliviaMumsnet · 28/10/2016 21:27

AHEM
Bit of peace and love please

surferjet · 28/10/2016 21:28

I'm beyond frustrated with this continual ploy by Leavers on here to avoid answering perfectly reasonable questions about comments they make

Why do you bother asking question after question then? I mean that kindly btw.
Log off MN & go & watch the telly or something - no matter what's said on here nothing's going to change is it.
This is all a big waste of time really.

WinchesterWoman · 28/10/2016 21:28

Autumn I think you are right - I would have liked him as party leader but he is no rabble rouser. He barely has a personality.

MagikarpetRide · 28/10/2016 21:29

Ah, come on now winchester, there was a lot of popping at small which you've taken part in. You can't get it both ways.

Bearbehind · 28/10/2016 21:29

It's really not ww I asked you a perfectly polite question.

You don't want to answer because you can't so are twisting this to make out I'm goading you.

It's a first but I actually agree with you surfer

WinchesterWoman · 28/10/2016 21:31

Sorry mumsnet. Just not feeling fights should have kept it to myself

drspouse · 28/10/2016 21:32

autumn did you read the stats on his constituency?

WinchesterWoman · 28/10/2016 21:32

No. Bear. I am not lying. If boink asked me (my comment was addressed to them) I would have a nice conversation about it.

autumnintheair · 28/10/2016 21:33

He barely has a personality

I know Grin - but on the other hand he is a quiet understated man. Did you hear him lay into Philip Green?

autumnintheair · 28/10/2016 21:36

drspouse

Did you realise that under Blair government no head counting of people coming into the country was conducted?

Do you know that the immigration figures are wildly inaccurate because of this? There is a tremendous transient population that its almost impossible to pin down, trace or count?

Yes I glanced at your stats but I put them into perspective into the bigger picture. I also Trust Frank, to know what he is talking about it - its his constituency after alll.

Bearbehind · 28/10/2016 21:39

I think I've finally reached the end of my tether with these threads.

Leavers on here have absolutely no answers and just revert to goading, shit stirring, flag flying, changing the subject, ignoring questions and trying to shut down the debate.

It is truly pointless continuing.

Happy Brexit to you all.

autumnintheair · 28/10/2016 21:41

Well thank you Bear and I say that as someone who was sworn and and told to fuck off directly earlier in this thread Hmm.

WinchesterWoman · 28/10/2016 21:42

No Autumn I didn't. Was he scathing

toodles60 · 28/10/2016 21:43

Why don't you all stop whining and accept majority rules. We voted for Brexit. If you don't like that maybe it IS time to leave. Good lord.

WinchesterWoman · 28/10/2016 21:44

The thing about brexit is that it's not just these two pieces of good news. It's been data after data after forecast after forecast. I'm feeling quietly positive. Do you think Theresa may will follow through?

MagikarpetRide · 28/10/2016 21:46

Oh bear
You won't get logical answers, because there aren't any. Not here at least. You're fighting soundbites and feelings. It shouldn't be too much to have some rationale, but sometimes it just doesn't exist.

TheElementsSong · 28/10/2016 21:47

Do you know that the immigration figures are wildly inaccurate because of this?

Well that's just the killer argument to end all arguments then. We literally can't exclude immigrants as the primary cause of any ill whatsoever, because they could be anywhere and in any number, the insidious creatures.

drspouse · 28/10/2016 21:56

I was going to say, you'd think if Frank Field was so hard and accurately at work on behalf of his constituents he'd have loads of evidence that there are all these immigrants in the woodwork that are both invisible and easily found taking up jobs and housing.

However if they are everywhere but never to be found, rather like the bogeyman, then I guess they could be responsible for anything at all.

You know, maybe none of the Remainers ever go abroad (what with all those forriners) so have failed to spot the Border Agency staff.

MagikarpetRide · 28/10/2016 21:59

I'm guessing it's some of those hidden away immigrants who keep eating all the chocolate here. And there I was blaming dh.

BoinkAlongQuietly · 28/10/2016 21:59

Jesus, it's so depressing.

I won't ask any further questions Winchester as I find the immigrant rhetoric deeply painful in light of history and what this this type of rhetoric has led to in the past. it is very misguided and detracts the conversation from the real problem - the vast investment in the protection and preservation of the elite. It's ok, neither of us is likely to change our opinion.

autumnintheair · 28/10/2016 22:00

Elements, what a horrid way to describe immigrants.

I am merely pointing out facts. You cannot rely heavily on any immigration figures, I thought this was always a given?

I am surprised after posturing as so caring - some posters totally reject Franks piece in its entirety, then try and paint him as a bigot.

YY WW, its all very positive so far. We have a long way to go obviously but at least the doom mongers are being proved wrong at the moment.

autumnintheair · 28/10/2016 22:01

So I guess you reject Franks point about under funding coupled with mass immigration from very poor countries, doubly hitting our poor then? You miss his point about finding compassion for the poor from the EU but then also thinking about our own poor here?
