I'm on a Facebook mum's group and people KEEP misspelling "choking" as "chocking". WHY?!?! This spelling mistake doesn't even make sense.

You get a whole post spelled completely correctly and then - "chocking/chocked/chock"

It's giving me the rage.

I was so pleased to see this thread. It isn't just me then.

My personal hate is " it's " instead of "its" . Although confusing "their" and "there" runs it a close second.

Pickled0nions · 17/10/2016 12:26

my DH always writes ''ares'' instead of ''ours''

MissMooMoo · 17/10/2016 12:27

I also have a friend that writes caugh instead of cough.

Unicorncatsack · 17/10/2016 12:27

I knew I was sleep deprived the other day when I wrote "there going" instead of "they're going" in a text.

The shame.

The other day someone's DH had a gamboling addiction. I had a bit of quiet snigger at the thought of her hands on hips catching him sneaking out and heading for the hills to indulge in his desire to run like a lamb.

Jointhejoyrun75 · 17/10/2016 12:27

I've seen chocking loads of times too. My worst ones are "draws" instead of "drawers" and "could of".

GoofyIsACow · 17/10/2016 12:28

The worst one for me, which I see all the time is...

Rant rant rant, ranty ranty ranty

And breath...

BeautyGoesToBenidorm · 17/10/2016 12:29

badtime, or even worse, '1 week anniversary'!

Someone I know has 'monthaversaries' with her BF. Oh do fuck off.

BeautyGoesToBenidorm · 17/10/2016 12:29

'Gamboling' addiction Grin The image that conjures up is bloody brilliant!

Isn't there some special corner for you all to run off to? I will continue to say it every single time I see these threads. I make everyone of these mistakes, all the time. It doesn't matter how many times I proof read, correct myself or have some other twat correct me. I GET THEM WRONG BECAUSE I AM DYSLEXIC. Do any of you understand that? Does it make you feel clever to mock people's spelling and grammar? Are you all that lacking in your own lives? When I read this, and see people mocking and taking the piss it makes me feel shit and embarrassed to write anything . Why would you make another person feel like that? Dyslexia is a recognised learning disability. Really how clever does it make you to mock this? I may not know the difference between definitely and defiantly but I have a 1st class degree and more importantly, empathy.

Raines100 · 17/10/2016 12:30

I'll see your 'defiantly' instead of 'definitely', and raise you 'loose' instead of 'lose' Wink

wherethewildrosesgrow · 17/10/2016 12:30

this is one that always makes me laugh on facebook selling sites

chester draws instead of chest of drawers

and

I just brought this in tescos, it cost me £5
no you didn't you BOUGHT it

RhodaBorrocks · 17/10/2016 12:31

PickledOnions LTB! Wink

My DF is dyslexic and I was reading some texts he has with his DB (my uncle) last week. Between the two of them it was like an exercise deciphering code because autocorrect was correcting his dyslexic spellings to all kinds of things. It was really making me laugh - not that he can't spell, but because even autocorrect couldn't understand what he was trying to say!

But everything mentioned so far on here grinds my gears.

But nothing more than:

Gawjus. Angry

Thatwaslulu · 17/10/2016 12:32

I hate 'defiantly' instead of 'definitely'.

ImNotDancing · 17/10/2016 12:33

adding Ss to things makes me stabby

Tesco not Tescos
Asda not Asdas
Lidl not Lidls
Aldi not Aldis

it literally makes me rage

MrsRyanGosling15 · 17/10/2016 12:35

And still the mocking continues. Maybe you can all spell, but can any of you actually read?

dodobookends · 17/10/2016 12:35

Never mind the spelling - I'd be more worried about the sheer volume of choking going on...

FurryLittleTwerp · 17/10/2016 12:35

yes ImNot but clearly Sainsbury's

Grin
Solina · 17/10/2016 12:37

That would make me so mad!

I have a friend on fb who can't spell anything right or so it seems. Some of the posts I can't even understand what it is that she meant to say.

Few examples:

Grate instead of great
Babys instead of babies
I instead of I am/ I'm
Il instead of I'll
Wat instead of what

It drives me mad.

Raines100 · 17/10/2016 12:39

No harm intended mrsryan . This is the corner we've all run off to!

The very fact that these posts and indeed threads are so numerous shows that such mistakes are ubiquitous and therefore not a cause of embarrassment. IRL, I judge people on the content of their writing, not their spelling and grammar. DH is a shit speller, but I didn't value him less as a human being because of it; I married him.
