I have a 15 day old who had an overnight hospital stay last week for poor feeding and weight loss,he has really improved since. However his toddler sister came home with a tummy bug Friday and today newborn ds has not fed since 8.30am. He vomited badly at 9am, again at 11.30 and has rejected all feeds no matter how much we tried. Syringe fed him at 6pm and he projectiled it all back up. He also has a temp of 35.3 and barely woken all day.

I don't know what to do :(

Flowers OP.

Hoping you find out what's wrong soon, you're in the right place. Take care of you all, hope DH got there to help.

Starlight2345 · 17/10/2016 11:56

Little ones can get poorly so quickly but also can bounce back just as quickly....

Hopefully you have some answers by now but you are in the right place .

And I hope they're both home very soon, I have been there myself. My point still stands however you sanctimonious arse.

OP, hope you are both home soon and more comfortable. If you're ever in doubt about your little one call 111 immediately, that's what they're there for, they will always tell you what's best to do. x

superboppy - it is generally considered good manners on threads like these to read the whole thread first, at which point you would have discovered the baby was ill in hospital and that the OP had taken appropriate action.

And then, it is normlly considered good form not to make nasty digs at the OP because, you know, HER BABY IS ILL IN HOSPITAL.

regardless of whether or not you think she should have phoned 111, now is not the time to say it. As your original post didn't even acknowledge the current situation.

And when someone nicely picks you up on it, being so rude to them is pretty aggressive.

I'm with doesthissoundgoodtoyou

Powerrangersdinocharge · 17/10/2016 13:05

superboppy - you were being an arshole, what was the point of your comment, other than to make someone who is frightened and worried about their child feel worse.

I hope you lo is ok

Beth2511 · 17/10/2016 17:27

Hi all,

The reason I asked if it was a 111 or a&e job was my mum instinct was saying a&e but I was scared I was over reacting and our a&e is always so busy I didn't want to take up time for no reason.

As for ds they are treating him for sepsis which they expect the lumbar puncture to confirm when results come back. Am scared but have every faith in the care here so keeping positive.
