To think I have discovered an amazing new 'thing'?

Or is it already known and mainstream? I do hope it's not and I can copyright it and make my fortune.

Conditioner BEFORE Shampoo!

If done the traditional way my hair goes lank and greasy within 12 hours. Do it backwards and it's all soft and swishy and non-lardy for at least a whole day.

I am truly a genius.

What I do, when I use conditioner, is rub some on my hands after my shower and when my hair is a bit dryer, flick my head forwards and just rub it on the ends. And I have lovely hair, if I do say so myself!

justilou · 02/10/2016 20:59

Brilliant isn't it? Also ditching any shampoo and conditioner with silicones in them. My hair is fuller and thicker and is growing faster since I ditched those!

Fluffyears · 02/10/2016 21:00

I've been doing reverse conditioning for a while I have long fine hair with dry roots and oily roots. I wet my hair in the shower, put conditioner on the lengths only the put it up with a clip. I then do all my showering stuff, shave body parts and wash face, then I add shampoo without rinsing the conditioner out. It is amazing how beautiful my hair is now, I did read the secret is to apply shampoo without rinsing the conditioner off.

2kids2dogsnosense · 02/10/2016 21:15

Going to try this - my hair falls out in handfuls so maybe this can help

Ginkypig · 02/10/2016 21:19

Your only meant to put conditioner on the mid to length of your hair.

The natural oils on you head takes care of the roots.

HeCantBeSerious · 02/10/2016 21:20

Just in case any of you are Nestle boycotters, they own L'Oréal and Kerastase.

Andcake · 02/10/2016 21:20

I have dry thick hair - I just condition most times and then shampoo once every few weeks

softkitty79 · 02/10/2016 21:22

No shampoo at all for me now conditioner (non silicone) as a was first, son and nephew both the same, all curly heads (them more than me) no combs or brushes either

Doilooklikeatourist · 02/10/2016 21:23

I don't use conditioner
However
I live in Wales , and we have lovely soft water when I lived in nasty hard water Norfolk I needed 2 in 1 shampoo and conditioner
Helpful

HeCantBeSerious · 02/10/2016 21:24

I live in Wales and use conditioner only on lengths and ends. (Pureology is my brand of choice.)

winefixeswhine · 02/10/2016 21:25

I haven't used conditioner for years, makes no difference to my hair

snakesalive · 02/10/2016 21:27

What about baby shampoo...I was going to change to this why I next buy...I read it is good for hair but can't remember why

snakesalive · 02/10/2016 21:27

When I next buy

paulapantsdown · 02/10/2016 21:27

I think the hard water does make a big difference. My hair is always lovely and soft and shiny when I go to Ireland or Greece!

Sendraboots · 02/10/2016 21:29

i think it must depend on what conditioner you use. I remember before we had conditioner and the tangles were hell to deal with

reup · 02/10/2016 21:30

Which shampoos and conditioners don't have silicone?

MOIST · 02/10/2016 21:31

Our water is liquid chalk. Maybe that's why my new invention works Grin

Banananananana · 02/10/2016 21:33

Another one here who doesn't use conditioner. My hair is light and has lots of volume. I spend the extra money on naice shampoo Grin

TealGiraffe · 02/10/2016 21:36

I do think most of it is doen to your hair as well. I use cheap shampoo and condition once a week. My is always soft and super strong.

I did try reverse shampooing a while ago and it just made my hair feel rank. Not clean at all.

KitKats28 · 02/10/2016 21:41

snakesalive baby shampoo isn't especially good for your hair, but it's essentially a clarifying shampoo which gets rid of built up silicones and gunk. It's also good for stripping colour, as is dandruff shampoo.

snakesalive · 02/10/2016 21:50

Oh.cheers Kat..perhaps I should save my pennies...my hair is very dry and definitely dosnt need stripping

ragdoll700 · 02/10/2016 21:56

How do you brush your hair then if I just shampoo my hair its so knotty I cannot brush it does the conditioner first make it possible to brush after?

TealGiraffe · 02/10/2016 22:03

I just brush it before i go in the shower. It doesnt get knotty when i wash it then.

Also, invest in a wet brush. They are amazing!
