I'm 16 weeks pg and first noticed symptoms about a week before my missed AF. Friends and family disbelieve this and seem to think I must have imagined the symptoms Hmm so, out of interest when were your first symptoms of pregnancy and what were they?

The minute I hit 4 weeks pregnant,I started to feel REALLY sick. Up until that point,I hadn't known for sure that I definitely WAS pregnant. Had come out of hospital 5 days previously after a minor op,and DP had to phone my GP for some blood test results. One of the results was a positive pregnancy test. DP excitedly relays this news to me,and I said I thought as much,as I had felt nauseous for the last 5 hours for no apparent reason. My boobs also felt achey and I had a strange, metallic taste in my mouth.

bummyknocker · 30/09/2016 00:12

Nothing, no symptoms at all. Thought it was all imagined, both times. Tiredness toward end of first trimester then very emotional last trimester and just from getting very large.

I loved being pregnant.

Bumplovin · 30/09/2016 00:15

I felt exhausted 4 days before period and took a test it was positive I felt different right from the start. The exhaustion has continued right up to 7 months and im sure once she is here I'll be even more tired !

AdaLovelacesCat · 30/09/2016 00:20

needing to sit down in the pub. Not wanting to finish my drink (alcohol) because it tasted funny.
Faint sickness in the evening.
Finding drunk people incredibly annoying.

bummyknocker · 30/09/2016 00:21

Just rereading the thread YES YES YES thedogsvgina you have just reminded me, I had a feeling when the egg was fertilised, felt like a whoosh! Had it with DC1&2, DC2 that I miscarried.

I also have a strong pain when I ovulate, can be so painful I take painkillers, when I was very young thought it must be appendicitis. Its a real medical thing, has a German name.

champagneplanet · 30/09/2016 00:21

Very mild palpitations with my first and extremely sore boobs.

With my current pregnancy I massively went off wine, love a glass or two at the weekends but literally couldn't even smell it, it was foul. DM was the same apparently.

And let's not forget the extreme unrelenting tiredness!

hoddtastic · 30/09/2016 00:22

I got a double chin and a fat neck about a week before i was due to come on, noticed it when I looked in the mirror getting ready to go out. Made myself a cup of tea- couldn't drink it cos the STENCH OF TEA WAS AWFUL. Went to meet DP on the pub, kissed him hello, retched at the smell of booze - and then I just knew.

NightCzar · 30/09/2016 00:23

Sharp pains in my left buttock about 2 days before my period was due. I had terrible SPD both pregnancies.

bumbleclat · 30/09/2016 03:07

Painful cramps after orgasm, just a 'feeling' after sex a strange thud in right ovary as driving up the M25 a couple of days after DTD.
Tested and BFP straight away.
I think if you're quite sensitive to your body and don't numb it through drinking etc, you know pretty soon.

bumbleclat · 30/09/2016 03:08

Extreme tiredness was trusted to work from home and am always very honest about this but just fell asleep from 4pm- 7am right through!!

Catnoise · 30/09/2016 03:18

About a week before my period was due I said to DH 'I feel strange, not Ill but just strange' when we were staying at a hotel in a foreign country. I was a bit more in tune with my body so I could look out for malaria and the like.

Then on the journey home I was unbelievably hot (and stayed that way for the entire pregnancy) and finally when I got home and I was exhausted for about a week. I put it down to severe jet lag even though I'd only been in a country with about a five hour time difference!

Liskee · 30/09/2016 03:38

Really dodgy tummy about a week after I conceived. Happened both times but I only recognised it was a symptom by looking back at dates. Didn't actually confirm pg for 8 weeks with first and 6 weeks with second.

mrsderbyshire · 30/09/2016 07:34

Period type pains
Vomiting
Extreme aversions to fried greasy food Envy

OhTheRoses · 30/09/2016 07:34

Never had any notable symptoms except veiny breasts, the bump and tiredness from about six weeks. But every time I knew I was pregnant within 24/48 hours. I have no idea how but I did. Every time (three third trimester pgs, two 2nd, at least four mc's before 6/7 weeks). I had very very faint nausea with the unsuccessful pgs which contradicts the research I think.

MollyCule · 30/09/2016 07:45

I also had symptoms very early and people didn't believe me, I was extremely tired about a week after ovulation and my nipples got darker. A weird smell also made me feel really sick and encouraged me to take a test which was positive about 5 days before period was due. I had a girl, and have heard that these early symptoms can indicate a girl - but probably an old wives tale!

spicyfajitas · 30/09/2016 07:55

Cramp. Excruciating foot and leg cramp even before I missed a period. I always knew almost immediately.

TorquayHotelWindow · 30/09/2016 19:58

In the first 6 weeks - extreme sensitivity to any odour whatsoever. 6 weeks onwards came the sore boobs. Then the exhaustion and aversion to water, which was the only drink aside from tea that I ever drank!

Tobebythesea · 30/09/2016 20:05

Extreme tiredness

surferjet · 30/09/2016 20:11

Feeling sick & going completely off tea.

Caper86 · 30/09/2016 20:26

Same as you - so extremely tired I couldn't move. DP accused me of being lazy and not wanting to help clean the flat (didn't funnily enough). All a week before AF. Turns out I was having twins!

bumbleclat · 01/10/2016 08:23

Went off vegetables and meat in a big way Confused

BestIsWest · 01/10/2016 08:31

Sore nipples the first few times. Then, with DS, nothing until about nine weeks when I looked at my work diary and realised there was a reason why I had been feeling a bit off colour recently.

awkward91 · 01/10/2016 08:51

Needing to wee all the time - like 3/4 times in an hour, and being super breathless when doing little things like walking up stairs

Chopstick17 · 01/10/2016 09:20

Big nipples and needing a wee more often!

Pagen25 · 30/10/2016 16:12

Hello,

I'm new here and have just found out I'm pregnant. It is my first time and I am a bit worried.

I don't know what to expect really but going by the day of my last period I'm 6 weeks tomorrow and have had no symptoms but I've had 3 positive clear blue tests over the last week and a bit.

The only thing I have noticed is what seem to be period pains but no actual period and a very bloated tummy (my jeans won't do up).

So should I be worried about the period like cramps and lack of symptoms? I know I'm probably wing silly but I'd appreciate any insight.

Thanks x
