To be *livid* at this? Attempted murder of man working to make women's sport fairer

Sporadicus · 22/09/2016 16:31

So not only did Jeska use their unfair advantage to win medals meant for female athletes, but Jeska then tries to murder the man attemting to restore fairness to women's fell running:

And yet, the BBC decide it's not relevant to the story that Jeska was born male:

If Woman's Hour are too scared to report in a balanced way on matters affecting the actual definition of women, it makes them seem a bit pointless really.

alizondevice · 23/09/2016 09:44

fakename, don't put any hope in the Women's Hour. A year or two ago, I listened to Jenny Murray interview Julie Bindel, one brave gendercritical feminist. Murray's voice was cold and dripping with sarcasm through the entire interview. Fortunately Bindel remained strong, passionate, and honest.

alizondevice · 23/09/2016 09:49

The BBC and Guardian's silence on this issue reminds me all too uncomfortably of their evasion on reporting the New Year's Eve mass rapes in Cologne. It seems it's no longer PC for the liberal media to report on violent crimes against female born women or how transactivism is eroding women's rights. Women across the political spectrum need to rise up and protest NOW.

BetsyM00 · 23/09/2016 10:35

Also complained to the bbc. Makes it twice in the one week after the story about the 'first' front line woman soldier.

PageStillNotFound404 · 23/09/2016 10:49

Great You accidentally missed off the rest of my post which gave the piece you quoted context: And in comparison to the types of crime committed by men v crimes committed by women, that is a fair/valid generalisation.

The majority of the population don't commit crimes. But of those who do, men are 18 times more likely to be violent than women. Which is why including crimes committed by TW that are of a type significantly less likely to be carried out by a woman in gendered crime statistics is so misleading and skewing.

WinchesterWoman · 23/09/2016 10:55

Fuckabiity: Why don't you go and start a thread about how awful it is that some women commit violent crimes? Because you seem utterly unable to grasp that this is not under debate, it's not an issue anyone is disputing and no one disagrees with you but it's NOT THE FUCKING POINT so just start your own argument about that somewhere else?

powershowerforanhour · 23/09/2016 11:00

Winchester, I think Great is just trying to string their pedantic "I'm only seeking clarification" derail out as long as possible.

Bambambini · 23/09/2016 11:06

Great is just having some attention seeking fun and derailing and we are allowing them to. And they are suceeding.

powershowerforanhour · 23/09/2016 11:11

Anyway , back on the rails- yes I agree Woman's Hour need to grow a pair of ovaries and confront this issue properly re

  • biological men in women's sport
  • reporting of the crimes of biological men as commited by women thus skewing the stats
  • the potential presence of biological men in women's prisons and DV shelters, putting biological women at increased risk of physical and possibly sexual assault
  • the shameful treatment of lesbian women by some transactivists in student politics
That's plenty of subject matter for several slots on the show and not addressing it on WH is getting to be a ridiculous elephant in the room. We can have yet another and another trans thread here, but it needs discussing in wider society ie the only radio show specifically for women aired by the national broadcaster.
WinchesterWoman · 23/09/2016 11:17

Can I just say to you, anyone who thinks it's not worth complaining to the BBC, it actually really is.

WinchesterWoman · 23/09/2016 11:17

Power you are right. Pay it forward :)

CrazyNameCrazyGuy · 23/09/2016 11:23

I also find it disturbing that the fact Jeska is trans is being ignored in news reports as it is totally relevant to the crime they are accused of committing.

I have no issue with transwomen identifying as female, however, they are still biologically male so will never actually be female. As such they should not be considered female for the purpose of crime stats etc.

As far as sports are concerned, a transwoman will have all the obvious biological male advantages that have been mentioned. It is not, therefore, a level playing field if you'll pardon the pun. If I'd had to compete against transwomen in my previous chosen sport then I would have been bloody furious.

Transwomen like Anna Lee running for women's positions makes my blood boil. Sorry Anna but you have no fucking idea what it is like to grow up as woman in a patriarchal society. You do not, and never will, represent me or understand my experiences (both biological and societal).

CrazyNameCrazyGuy · 23/09/2016 11:36

Just a thought.

If a transwoman commits a crime and the police find DNA evidence, would they would be looking for a male offender?

Prawnofthepatriarchy · 23/09/2016 11:37

My reading of the story is that the victim was looking into medals Jeska had won in years when Jeska, as a transwoman, was not eligible to compete. Jeska had been cheating by pretending to be female.

Killing someone because they are going to publicly prove you aren't eligible to compete in women's sports is classic AGP narcissistic rage. Cross an AGP if you dare. Anyone who doubts this might visit the site terfisaslur for hair-raising examples. Just pointing out that lesbians don't like dick is enough to generate death threats.

FeedMeAndTellMeImPretty · 23/09/2016 11:41

I've complained to the BBC about their coverage of this story. Thanks for the heads up Sporadicus.

Phillipp there is a thread called I am Sparticus where people are able to join forces, call bullshit and say "The Emperor is not wearing any clothes" about the whole 'transwomen are women' and 'female penis' nonsense.

WinchesterWoman · 23/09/2016 11:46

YY it was started because a couple of posters were banned for 'misgendering' and so everyone decided to misgender on the grounds that we couldn't all be banned.

It's what brought me off lurking!

JellyBelli · 23/09/2016 11:49

Here is some info avout women offenders, its pretty hair raising stuff.

There are currently about 800,000 prisoners in England and Wales, 5% of the prison population are women.
The number of women in prison in England and Wales stood at 3,935 on 13 July 2015.
81% of women are serving a prison sentence for a non-violent crime.

Women tend to be in prison for non payment of fines and theft. It costs the taxpayer millions to care for their children.

JellyBelli · 23/09/2016 11:50

^ That should read 80,000. Not 800,000.

A transwoman has male genes and therefore they'd be looking for a man

Sporadicus · 23/09/2016 12:23

Crazy I remember a while ago seeing on a local police force facebook page, a MTT missing person, with appeal for the public to look out for a woman ...

I wonder if, with your dna example, police would have to say they were looking for a man or transwoman, or if that's even allowed under trans newspeak...

OP posts:
WankingMonkey · 23/09/2016 12:35

BBC is supposed to be impartial too. LOL. Factual...honest... What a publically funded pile of wank.

Interesting to see possible autism being blamed for this rather than anything else. When its clear it happened as 'she' wanted to continue taking advantage and winning title easily and didn't want that to end.

CrazyNameCrazyGuy · 23/09/2016 12:41

A transwoman has male genes and therefore they'd be looking for a man

That's what I thought Statistically but I wasn't sure. Opens up a whole new world of confusion if the police are looking for someone presenting as male when in fact it is a transwoman. I wonder if there are a few unsolved crimes out there because of this?

Sporadicus If the only clue they have is DNA then I don't think they can tell that it is from a transwoman. With your example it was a missing person so they knew exactly who they were looking for.

hackmum · 23/09/2016 12:42

It's a rare day that I have anything good to say about the Mail, but their report is very clear:

"The CPS and West Midlands Police both confirmed Jeska was transgender which was a factor in her motive for attacking Mr Knibbs."

I'm as appalled as everyone else about the way this is being misreported in other media outlets. Since when has it been acceptable to omit relevant facts in the reporting of a court case?
