To think I'm not unreasonable to tell sister no to this baby name?

Loveheart Belle Princess.

That is what my sister has decided the baby shall be called. She refuses to accept that I have said no and has started to refer to her as that.

Her argument is that it's a really pretty name, princesses are cool and she can call her love for short which is nice.

I think at 6 she is old enough to be told fuck no and be banned from naming anything Grin

Or am I missing out and will regret not using said name?!

My dd called her baby Bafe. I think it's a delightful name. She doesn't know if it's a boy or a girl so at least it fits with either gender.
Loveheart Belle Princess is a great name but of course it's got to match with your surname.

NoFuchsGiven · 22/09/2016 09:23

When my dm was pregnant with my youngest db my then 6 yo db wanted to call the baby George of the Jungle Grin

YoureMyWifeNowDave · 22/09/2016 09:23

My 5 year old was insistent that she was choosing her baby brothers name, luckily she wanted to call him Jack and not Darciellamae which is what she names all her dolls and our tropical fish

FoxesOnSocks · 22/09/2016 09:24

Wouldn't stand for it, who the hell thinks Princess is a third name? Whole flaming name should wrong and backwards.

Tell your sister to shove and it's Princess Belle Loveheart

Bogeyface · 22/09/2016 09:24

Loving Smash :o

My DS (then aged 3) decided my baby was going to be called Bing. Well my (adult!!) sister clung onto this and Bing is now 7. I don't think she has ever used his real name. She even had a t-shirt printed with Bing on it when he was born!

Bohemond · 22/09/2016 09:28

Mine would have been Rinky Dink had my friend's children had their way!

JenLindleyShitMom · 22/09/2016 09:29

He looked a bit embarassed when I pointed out she was 6 grin

When one of my DS came to the scan of his little sister he slid off his chair in angry, gritted teeth annoyance. Proper fist clenching sadness that his new sibling was going to be a girl so thwarted his plan to call her Donkey Kong Grin

talllikejerryhall · 22/09/2016 09:34

My 6 year old brother solemnly declared one day that he would herewith only respond to the name Little Fast Car - we still call him LFC for short!

bomfunk · 22/09/2016 09:36

My youngest DS was twilight sparkle for a while - good choice DD Grin

WingingItAlways · 22/09/2016 09:37

My daughter decided that 'Spiderman Thor Hulksmash' would be the perfect name for her little brother.
We compromised and he has Thor as a middle name Grin

Bumptittybump · 22/09/2016 09:37

Ha ha. Loveheart is a popular suggestion from my DDs too. Shall we see if we can get it to the top of the baby names 2016 list?

sparechange · 22/09/2016 09:40

You all joke, but wasn't there a thread recently where an actual adult called her baby Teddy Blue Boy?

SatsukiKusakabe · 22/09/2016 09:42

Love day is a name. Just throwing it out there.

I sometimes look at my ds and wonder if I was so wrong to veto "Twinkle"

SatsukiKusakabe · 22/09/2016 09:42

Loveday that is. Autocorrect obviously doesn't buy it as a name.

Soubriquet · 22/09/2016 09:44

No Spare

It was actually Teddie-Blue and the OP was actually a friend of the mother who had named her son that. She found the thread and kicked off (understandably) big time

ageingrunner · 22/09/2016 09:45

Big bad Barry is definitely a name to live up to, although you'd probably hope that he wouldn't Confused

Somerville · 22/09/2016 09:46

Loveheart being so popular amongst under 10's suggests that the name Loveday will become fashionable over the next decade or two.

I had friend called Loveday at school who switched to her middle name, but I found her recently FB and she's back to Loveday.

RobotLover68 · 22/09/2016 09:46

At age 5 my eldest DS suggest DS3 should be called Jesus (in his defence he was in the nativity at the time)

GreatFuckability · 22/09/2016 09:53

My youngest still has the nickname Flaky Boy (she is a girl) because the only way her brother would tolerate her existence was by us agreeing to calling her that.

dodobookends · 22/09/2016 09:54

When my dd was small she said when she had a baby boy she would call it Tarzan, and if it was a girl she would call it Jane (I blame the Disney Tarzan film she was obsessed with at the time) Grin

BarbarianMum · 22/09/2016 09:54

We didn't want to tell anyone the name we'd chosen for ds2 until he arrived. If people asked, we told them to ask ds1 (then 2) who would make one up on the spot.

My favourite was "Shere Kahn Farrari" Was quite tempted by that one. Grin

DerekSprechenZeDick · 22/09/2016 09:56

My son is very good at naming things.

He named his hamster Nathan. He's very old fashioned and thinks things should have proper names.

My sister however is not so good at naming Things.

I should have missed out the age but and watched people slag off a child for a while
I know Grin

Yes. Yes you should Grin

My 3 year old is shit at names. It's all the actual thing. Every baby doll she has is baby born because that is what they are. Or Baby Elsa as its Baby Elsa etc

Teddies are named after their animal. Monkey for monkey

And we got her a build a bear the other day. It was a cat so tried to encourage her to name the cat something really good. She named it "Toots". After Tootise the cat we actually have IRL Hmm

good imagination she hasn't
