To think I'm not unreasonable to tell sister no to this baby name?

Loveheart Belle Princess.

That is what my sister has decided the baby shall be called. She refuses to accept that I have said no and has started to refer to her as that.

Her argument is that it's a really pretty name, princesses are cool and she can call her love for short which is nice.

I think at 6 she is old enough to be told fuck no and be banned from naming anything Grin

Or am I missing out and will regret not using said name?!

Missuseff · 25/09/2016 07:31

How is this a thread with 11 pages? Amazing.

DoctorTwo · 25/09/2016 07:46

Big Bad Barry has had me chuckling for days, but Special Constable Anal Sex Fruit is possibly the best baby name ever. :o

Special Constable Anal Sex Fruit

Sounds like a band who had one single played by John Peel in 1978.

Alabastard · 25/09/2016 09:23

I'm assuming it's Detective Inspector Anal Sex Fruit by now?

As a kid I wanted 4 girls... Melody, Harmony, Symphony and Rhapsody after the angels on captain scarlet.

I know a child called Melody-Harmony Shock She just goes by "Mel" now that she's older though.

My little sister did a lot of crying and complaining when we refused to call our new cat 'Thumbelina'. But it went down in the family history, and we still smile about it 35 years later.

My daughter's middle name is Belle, so I'm with her on that one.

ForalltheSaints · 26/09/2016 07:02

Awful name. Your child is old enough to be told why not- people being unkind to someone once they are at school is one that a 6 year old could relate to, I expect.

Alabastard · 26/09/2016 08:24

saints

LIGHTHEARTED.

MrsJayy · 26/09/2016 08:31

Whenever I asked DS1 (2 at the time) what he wanted to call his baby brother he used to say Fireman Sam. His brother Sam turned 2 last week....doesn't have the fireman bit in his name needless to say!!!

Toombumber · 30/09/2016 20:49

I'm also inspired by the banned NZ names and would have liked to have gone for T. Saint-Christ 4Real.

HeartsTrumpDiamonds · 03/10/2016 18:01

I know a family where they let the 2 year old brother name the newborn sister. She's called Angelina. Luckily the wee boy was into Angelina Ballerina at the time and not something truly heinous Grin
