To think too many people have Costa or Starbucks as an accessory

A rather stylish women I work with seems to have a costa cup superglued. I never see her drink from it although coffee is present inside. I just don't get why some people always seem to have a coffee cup is it a snobbery thing?

Yes the bottles of water and not just any old bottle filled up with tap water, it must be Evian or something.

I agree, Usual it's safer for everyone if I sit down Grin.

ILostItInTheEarlyNineties · 18/09/2016 15:50

I seem to be copying everything you say Usual sorry about that.

Cellardoor23 · 18/09/2016 15:51

I love greggs coffee too and I like costa. I would drink costa coffee more often, but apparently it's full of sugar.

It's never crossed my mind to be inspirational. If anything the ones sitting in the coffee shop (drinking out of a proper mug/glass) for hours on end without a care in a world are the inspirational ones!

rosesandcashmere · 18/09/2016 15:52

Takes me 8 large Americanos to get through the day with the twats I work with so it's a necessity more of an accessory. YABU and judgey and rude. It's none of your business and it isn't hurting you.

I've never had a Starbucks or Costa coffee. I've never had anything other than boring ordinary coffee except at home, I feel deprived. I nearly went into a Starbucks once but it looked dirty and there were holes in the chairs, so I didn't.
I think this makes me a peasant, but I'm okay with that.

EarthboundMisfit · 18/09/2016 15:57

A Starbucks cup is something that is Instagrammed too much, yes.
Mind you, I don't drink tea or coffee, and if ONE MORE PERSON at work asks me if my water is really vodka....

ILostItInTheEarlyNineties · 18/09/2016 16:01

8 large Americanos a day at £2.40 each? Shock That's about 20 quid a day.

Could you get a different job Roses?

KatieScarlett · 18/09/2016 16:02

I wave my Greggs latte around every day with pride!
(Actually, I carry it gingerly at lunchtime from the shop to the staff room hoping it doesn't spill all over me on the way)
My latte and my falafel wrap- £3.00
Bargain.

Freshprincess · 18/09/2016 16:04

I drive last a high school on my way to work and there's one of this back of a van coffee sellers parked up nearby. There's always a queue.

You see all the girls walking to school, teeny handbag swinging on their forearm holding a Costa cup (not sure how he's selling costa coffee out of the back of his van).
definitely a fashion accessory.

Night I bet you are a hipster.

They'd surely kill for an original tartan thermos full of hot bovril.

It's definitely a trend. We were given individual named cups in our company to save waste and people still use card.

I always wanted one of this Greek print cups from New York that detectives swig out of at crime scenes (after years of too much Law & Order). No one here ever knew what I was talking about.

Turns out that's a trend now too - the Anthora coffee cup.

Voila...

It's definitely an accessory. When we went to London my 12 yo DD just had to have one and carried it around on show.

I usually drink Costa. Quite often found attached to one of their takeaway cups.

I had to slum it & get Greg's the other day. The shame walking into the playground. I sent a friend to do the pick up on Friday as I couldn't face them all.

DownWithThisSortaThing · 18/09/2016 16:19

I get one occasionally for a treat or if I'm hungover but I have my own coffee cup with a lid thing because we have to use those at work. So I don't feel bad about the waste!

But what I don't get is a lot of people I work with who get one every morning and then another at lunch time. It must cost an absolute fortune twice a day 5 days a week Confused

derxa · 18/09/2016 16:22

Misery guts. Grin

MovingOnUpMovingOnOut · 18/09/2016 16:23

When I worked in London I used to pick one up on my way to work. It would be from the nearest place without a massive queue like Pret. I needed it to give me the strength to deal with the insufferable twats I worked with. Maybe she thinks you are an insufferable twat? Shock Shock Grin

My coffee of choice these days is one from my coffee machine at home. If out I like Greggs or a freebie Waitrose one and I'm a bit snobby about my coffee.

At work we get fresh filter coffee brought on a trolley but the cups are too shallow and it goes cold too quick 🎻

TheLastHeatwave · 18/09/2016 16:23

Oh. Better add I'm JOKING.

I faced the walk of shame on Friday.

Not really. I do usually buy Costa but don't give a rats arse that the yummy mummy's will be bitching behind my back about the Greg's cup 😁 It's probably only adding to the fact I don't dress up for the school run, don't live in a detached house & I drive a car that's practically old enough to be teaching their kids - and it's a Ford. The horror. 😁

topcat2014 · 18/09/2016 16:24

Nescafe on the hour every hour in my office backs out of thread

tiny bit defensive there
