To buy a beauty advent calendar at £95-£150 ?

Spice22 · 12/09/2016 09:50

Hi guys ,

I've been wanting the Selfridges advent calendars(£95) since they started doing them but could never part with the money . This year, I'm seriously considering buying it or the Charlotte Tilbury one (£150). It will be out in October and usually sells out quick and then I'll need to get it on Amazon for extortionate prices - so, I need to decide pretty quick if I should put money aside for one of them.

Has anyone bought either previously? Are they worth the money? Would you aplurge and treat yourself for Christmas?

Elemis do one, Pinkie? Arse. This is no good at all.

I believe Clarins will be doing a men's one. theldndiaries.com/the-best-advent-calendars-for-2016/. That link is nothing to do with me. Blame Ceaser who posted it last night Grin.

APlaceOnTheCouch · 17/09/2016 21:23

Thanks Heman
Is anyone else wondering if there's time to become a beauty blogger and call them in for free? Grin

Sundaysmumisfullofwine · 17/09/2016 21:28

I'd say there's more than enough in the M&S one this year to make my money back on eBay with the bits I don't want so I'm definitely going for that one.

Would love the liberty one, doubt the finances will stretch though as I'd want to keep it all.

disneyprincesswannabe · 17/09/2016 21:53

I've decided to treat myself to one this year and am eyeing up the lush advent calendar. Only thing is it's 12 days and not 24, does that mean I have to get another 12 day calendar for the full 24 days? That's not greedy or anything is it?

AnotherPinkiePieStory · 17/09/2016 21:56

Yes Heman was prob 2 or 3 years ago and amazing. Bought as a gift but I would buy again no fear!
disney get 2. I may just look at 2 just in case.....

HemanOrSheRa · 17/09/2016 22:05

Ooh a Lush one disney? That any good for you Lunchbox?

Ah Pinkie an Elemis advent calendar will throw a spanner into the works. I don't know how I've never heard of these before! All the gorgeous treats through the horror of December that I have missed Sad.

DoristheNovice · 17/09/2016 22:14

I've ordered my DD14 a Tanya Burr beauty calendar from Superdrug and a Smiggle calendar for DD10 today. They'll be over the moon, and I'll be expecting lots of cups of tea without having to ask throughout the whole of December as a thank you from them Smile

RichTeaAreCrap · 17/09/2016 22:15

I want the Elemis one this year, looked gorgeous last year but I missed out.

DoristheNovice · 17/09/2016 22:15

I got dd the ciate one last year, will try and get her the no7 this. Although Benefit one looks fab

I love the lush one but it's just soap and bath bomb alternating. I'd love it but she showers lol

BeyondTheSea · 18/09/2016 08:53

I love the liberty & selfridges ones. Also quite like l"occitane and had the M&S one last year , which was great. How many is too many?

I know, I know friends but dd loves all the lollipop minifigs and all that pink shite girl-biased models. What can you do?
